Thirty years from now, Alpha Four will determine that 1.f3 (by then known as the Carlsen Opening) is the best opening move for White, as it maintains the maximum amount of flexibility.
I tend to think they both know the openings backwards and forwards. And they usually lead to a mid-game massive piece exchange, and then into the end game, where real game play and blunders make the decision. Carlsen is an absolute wizard in the end game. Tang after minor mistakes realizes it way early and resigns. Interesting fun.
"G6 - A terrible move, whose only redeeming quality is that it maintains consistency with his previous two moves, as well as with the general theme of this entire game, in that it's extremely dubious." 😀
Nah, these two were just fooling around. Andrew Tang is opening just as weird though they obviously know very well how to deal with opening advantages of they choose to do so.
I don't understand the negativity.... That opening is similar to how I think of the King, as a battle king, or lure as bait. Analyzing it against the engine or classical theory leads to maybe missing the point. Magnes isn't playing the engine, he played the human across from him, and should have charged tuition for that master class..... Good lesson, thanks
You’ve got your king out there, might as well see if you can use it. Players can be too slow, however, to react, when there’s an imbalance. Sometimes, for example, it looks like you should do everything you can to castle Queenside. There’s some sort of threat to your Kingside, how hard is it to castle Queenside? Yet you see, time after time, players not taking an all out reaction to something, say, too, to your Queen being stuck on one side, and useless there. Do everything you can to open a way for it to reach the other side, now.
It's not like an opening someone who just learned how the pieces move would make it's like an opening someone who just learned how the pieces move would make when they were drunk 🥴

LOL Your commentary was all time! I was literally crying I was laughing so hard!

OMG!!! I am dying laughing a 1/3 of the way through this video.
Thank you for sharing this with your priceless commentary!!!
Thanks! I'm grateful for everyone like you who appreciates my humor!

Opening confusion is the goal of Carlsen. I have seen this same concept with other openings.

stratego is awesome
Hell yeah! If only I played as much chess as a kid as I did Stratego ...

Your welcome! And I agree - there is a lot to be learned even from a crazy game like this!
Has anyone ever told you that you look and sound like Kevin Spacey? I love your content by the way, the way you give your breakdowns are entertaining.
Thanks, and yes! Lol -- I think it reminds them of his role in Se7en
If I play garbage like this against my son nowadays, I get my ass beat. Carlsen does it against GRANDMASTERS and wins. Oh my.
The word is "timid" as Carlson appears to troll people who respect him on points rather than play.
If you look up in the lichess database, you will find me in the database. What am i just witnessed
Yes, Stratego fan. This is such a bizarre game.
Maybe GM Andrew Tang was also under the influence of Erguotou baijiu 🤣
"Mad hatter" is the perfect name for the opening.
‘The bong cloud’. That’s funny.
It might be nice for to explain what the best move is when the balance shifts dramatically, +-1
Who is more trol they who play Like this or this guy which make analize 😂😂😂
Reminds me of the so called secret games between fischer and short
I was thinking of doing a video on those but there seems to be a lot of people doubting it was really Fischer now
i liked stratego.
People who talk to me with sunglasses, practice the niqab of the West.
People obsessed with religion can't get away from it, even when the discussion is supposed to be about chess.
lol, good to know there is a legitimate ‘worst opening move’.
Damn you! Queen's gambit is my fav.
But my point was that the queen's gambit was a great opening!
@@squareonechess6939 Oh, okay. My ears heard something else, but that's probably just me.

Stop trolling so hard Magnus

Blasphemy against God.
If Magnus played God, Magnus would win.
They all play Like 4 y old and withouth castling 😂
Fun review mate - but prefer your deep dives into more interesting games where we can learn a thing or two.
I learned a thing or two from this game. Need some help?
This is just magnus
Saying I’m the best…
But is horrible chess
Is just ego
Anyway not nice to see
So... The best player isn't allowed to have fun?
I think its amazing to see!
