The warranty for me is a liability. The fewer kilometers on a warranty the better, because I normally get my car serviced in the kasi for R1 000 (oil, filters and labour). Takes an hour or two and I can even have a beer while I wait. Taking it to the expensive 'dealer' in town twice a year for the next five years for me is a hassle - I have to get a taxi to collect it, it normally takes a whole day for a basic service, and the cost (I was paying R4 000 or more for my Kia) is excessive. Rather buy something second hand with NO warranty and you are FREE AT LAST from the dealers. And, to be honest, modern cars really don't 'explode' with engines having to be replaced etc. And most things that need replacing (brakes, shocks, exhaust, tires) are NOT included in a 'warranty'. So, a second hand car with ZERO warranty for me is the best.
Sho Muzi you just explained something that i always preach to my customers as a vehicle salesmen ...don't buy what buy what you want buy what you need because if you buy what you want you end paying the installment that you cannot afford....meaning consider petrol and insurance before anything else some listen some don't come first installment they want to bring the car back and its too late unfortunately.
Made a list of cars that I can afford within this segment and I have to say since I'm a person who loves speed at a fraction of a cost, the Hyundai i20 1liter has warmed up to me. Looking at Peugeot 208 and Opel Corsa 1.2T top specs are basically the same cars under the bonnet. This is followed closed by the Polo Highline (its too expensive) as well as the Mazda 2. This is a tough decision wish there would be a review where they are matched side by side and a drag race to accompany the comparison
I prefer the design of Baleno/Starlet over this car, but the N treatment offered in Europe as i20N makes justice on this car in terms of looks None the less this is great review as always

For a person staying in Durban, it's abit of a pain, especially following traffic on a steep. That being said I feel it's a good entry buy but better suited for flat or semi steep routes.
I’ve been owning this baby for almost a year. I don’t regret my decision. I came from a 2018 polo that was written off. One thing I would take from a Polo is the steering wheel and the sound system. I love the stiffness and response of a polo. This one nje the only good thing is that it’s leather koda on freeway driving I prefer a stiffer wheel. The sound system here is terrible. I will emphasise this, it’s Horrible. Hyundai should improve their sound system. The previous generation sounds much better than this car. This car is more charismatic on the road than a polo. It also gives you young pops and bangs when it changes gears. Gets one excited kancane. For the record I own the 1L Fluid. Excellent review
The hyundai dealership offered me a hyundai i20 1.2 motion at R4 800 monthly yet I was expecting to pay R4.8k on a fluid not on a motion. I feel like it's too expensive. I love this car especially 1.2 fluid.
@@phumelamapukata7409 I do apologise for the delay. I work from home, so my partner would drive this to work. With her driving on a combined terrain, she averages 6.2l/100km according to the car. We’ve taken the N3 and filled up our cars with a friend. From Gauteng to KZN, I got to my destination just above the 1/4 mark. With the Polo, it was slightly skewing away from the 1/2 mark. I think the major contribution is the tank size. Even with that, I’d choose my i20 over the Polo. If you’re a music person, I’d suggest you look away because the sound is terrible.
