I have this car and I manage to get 62 MPG most nights when going to work using the motorway and once got 71.4 MPG in July this year travelling at 55Mpg in Eco mode and using cruise control for a 12 mile journey great car .
Good straight forward review. I dislike and don't watch reviews when reviewers try to make it fun or funny. Just tell me what I need to know about the car.
Been pondering over which car to get for under 14k used. Looked at so many. This was on my list and I absolutely love everything about it after watching this video. I love the boring blue, the interior, the rear of the car 😄 I'm not expecting the world but this car seems to be good value and has a lot of nice features. I'm used to road noise and hard plastics. Hopefully i will go and test drive one on Wednesday.
i have the se connect model (base model) it is a really good car and the spec you get with it as standard is great, also quite nippy for a 1 litre engine
I have this in the Premium spec in Black, with the DCT Auto. Brilliant car. It’s a real head turner. Love the auto box, works really well. Has everything you could possibly want equipment wise. Been perfectly reliable in the time I’ve had it. Well worth being on anyone’s shopping list if they’re after a small hatch!
@@adamgorse7360 I had the premium version in 2021 in dark navy blue in auto and I found the turbo to be a bit sluggish and build quality ok but the ultimate one the one I have now is of high quality and the turbo is very good and responsive and build quality like suspension handling etc is better and Bose sound system more powerful than standard radio.
Thank you for this review. Simple language, nice speed of speech, relevant logic of recommending this car. Some thing I also would like to hear is the metric system for measurements like how tall the passenger and petrol consumption in litre per a hundred kilometers. All in all, nice done and good luck to your team. 👍
Thank you for this comment. Excellently worded, nice rhythmic flow, relevant to the video it's posted under. Something I would wish to point out is generally we try to say our mesurements in old money and metric or write whichever one we don't say on the screen, the exception being Litres per 100 km but we'll look into doing it from now on. Thank you for your kind words hope you subscribe to see more of our content! 😁
I have liked this car for a while. It is interesting how the i20 has been on sale for some time and really only now seems to be gaining traction, possibly because the Ford Fiesta will not be sold for much longer and manufacturers are all 'up-sizing' for greater profit?
Well a lot of the press coverage has been dominated by the N version, I see plenty of them about though and I expect I'll only see more as other marques leave the segment
It's because by declutching you can shut the engine off completely, allowing the car to coast without extra resistance from engine braking. The car cuts back in as soon as you go near the accelerator so the coasting process is fully automated.
Yes I would tend to agree although I think the IX 20 mini mpv was the better design decision for most motoring. The UK has been obsessed with corsas and fiestas while Hyundai quietly take over the world 😊
The ix20 is definitely more spacious, but the mini MPV looks were nowhere near as popular as conventional hatchbacks. Hyundai are doing some sterling work with all their products at the moment.
A great review there mate well done. I've been looking for a new car for a few month's now and i cant make my mind up between the i20, corsa or the mazda 2. I think I'm slightly favoring the i2o though
Thank you! The i20 is definitely the best all rounder out of the three you mention. If you're looking at brand new, we've also reviewed the facelifted i20 ☺️
@@BuckleUpShow I've been in a 2015 nissan Micra with 79bhp for a few years whilst I've been saving for a new one. The i20 will probably feel like a Ferrari for me 🤣
i have the se connect model, just bought it. theres no option to turn the front fog lights on/off but there is for the back fog light. at night the headlights are on along with the white led lights underneath, is this normal ?
@@BuckleUpShow thanks for the quick reply, was just wondering as my last car never did this and had fog lights in the same place as these lights, they are just the daytime running lights on my car lol silly me
We've not seen many reports of dct problems with these models, but it is also available in a manual if that's more to your tastes! Thanks for watching ☺️
Hyundai i20 all day. The powertrain is better and the car drives really well. Corsa is good and the interior has some soft materials in, but as an overall package the i20 is better.
the i20 100%, the spec you get as standard even in the base model is really good and they are nippy for a 1 litre engine (i have a 2023 model). also the ease of driving the i20 makes it a great choice (i have the automatic version but my friend has the same car in manual) have swapped cars for 10 minutes on some private land he owns and we both agreed the manual and automatic are both great !
i20 will be significantly more fun to drive. Also available as a mild hybrid which is a welcome fuel efficiency boost in today's market. If you're not sure, why not test drive a few cars.
Thank you so much! Would be great to see video of i20 premium auto. I have seen a Hyundai i20 Premium, but does not have Start/Stop engine - is that normal? Is it just the N model that has the feature.
The model I had from Hyundai on loan was the 1.0 T-Gdi 48V 100ps. They have offered the mild hybrid powertrain in two different states of tune, and the one I filmed with was the lower-powered of the two in the i20
Had it on hire as a courtesy car for 2 months. Absolutely detested the i20. It’s not a drivers car, you feel far too disconnected from the road while behind the wheel of this. Lights are rubbish at night, too heavy of fuel for what it is. 100% would not recommend.
Car prices have increased in line with increasing capability, equipment and inflation. With the way new vehicles are purchased shifting more towards financing, too, it means that people can afford the cars, they just may never own them!

Yup, I’ve not driven mine much yet but got 59 mph in mixed motoring eco.mode. Nice car, plus the 5 year warranty is great to have. 👍

Which one did you get bud
Had my dragon red n-line since November and it’s a stunner car. Mine has the 120ps engine which is also a hybrid.

it is economical?

You are probably the only reviewer who pronounced "hyundai" correctly
I do try 💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️💁🏻♂️
In Korean is actually "hyeon-dae" which is an adverb meaning "contemporary".

I dont get why Hyundai put in a declutch when all cars shut off the fuel when decelerating anyway. It can also make the car unstable.

Oh absolutely, the engines are great little units with a decent amount of pull. What are you currently driving?

No need to the I20 is a great car, also more rare on the road. Very good reliability.
What?

You're most welcome! Glad it was clear 😁
I love the larger infotainment screen but the smaller version has wireless carplay and Android auto whereas I believe the larger one is wired only.
If that is the case it is probably down to the maximum resolution the wireless carplay protocol is set up to transmit.
Is it fitted with an attachable front towing eye?
It is indeed. As with most vehicles, the included tool kit in the boot does come with one of these. No spare wheel though 😭
Can you please compare between it and the Corsa, the petrol models mainly ?
Yes of course, it's better than the Corsa
Love all about the car except all the angularity because of dents etc also dct hyundai/kia have problems. The rest superb.
Great review fellah
