Lane assist is actually good when it comes to crosswind and also for when you are eating on the go. Im not saying one should entirely depend on it, but it cool to have it.
Yeah, there was an accident where I live not so long ago. Guy was driving down hill heading toward a curve when he dropped his cigarette and instead of leaving it or pulling over he bent down to retrieve it and ended up driving straight across the road and smashed head on into another innocent driver, seven dead!

Don't know why manufacturers are not giving us the sunroof option, (Toyota, Renault & others). Alot of people end up buying VW because of the roof option. I for one did that, wanted the corolla hatch but ended up with golf.
I don't think they understand how much we value a sunroof.
I also share the same sentiments... you find in some Prados the sunroof

The big difference you forgot to mention is that the VW Polo has great resale value as opposed to the Renault Clio
but the polo is a high risk car for theft...
Insurance costs are higher on the polo
But the VW is way over priced....
@@caven7056 That depends on alot of factors. I've had my drivers for over 22 years and I paid R538 for comprehensive insurance with an access with R3500 which I think isnt bad considering that I live in Khayelitsha

I understand these cars from France can be a bit problematic when it comes to availability of parts. That alone if true should make one steer clear of them. Also VW has been building hatches since since so they have experience and also I'm biased😁. Great content, keep up the good work.

Renault is older than VW. Renault was founded in 1899. VW was founded in 1937. Renault has built some iconic cars going back to the early 2000s like the Renault Sport hot hatches like Clio RS and Megane RS. Then there was the Renault 5 Turbo from the 1980s. That was a rally and road car.
There is no parts availability issue for Renault in South Africa. It's just a myth fuelled by ignorant people like you. Plus VW builds boxy shit boring shit boxes for people who don't know how to drive 🤪

Muzi I know you like debating so let me start one on sunroofs lol. I'm not against them provided that someone else pays the extra approx R15k for it if it's a brand new car. I also agree it makes the car look good but realistically how many people do you see drive with a sunroof completely open?? Besides a sunroof is heavy and adds additional weight to your car. With the petrol price today I need to get rid of weight lol. Besides VW sunroofs are badly designed with a mesh cover which still let's the heat in on our hot summer days we have here in SA. So if we want one just because it looks cool then we all have different priorities but for me it's an unnecessary expense and adds to the overall cost of the vehicle. Pretty much the same as buying a Polo R Line DSG over a Polo Life DSG isn't it where you paying an extra R50k for what? 😀

I'm not against extras as long as they offer some value or are somewhat useful in a real life scenario. Lol, what would R-line badges do for you in as far as your day-to-day driving is concerned🤷🏽♂️. Also, your fuel argument is interesting but how much would you save on fuel a month by having no sunroof?😁😆
Wrong, the mesh let's light in but keeps an incredible amount of heat out the car so much so that I've driven with the sunroof open shade drawn in 30+ degree weather in comfort, give it a try and your life will change, any sunroof that doesn't let you draw the shade while open is uncomfortable to use in the middle of the day. I agree with Muzi it's useless when you don't have one.

That infotainment screen looks like you can detach it from the dashboard uma wehla ngats it’s some kind of iPad, I don’t like it, i think the screen should merge with the dashboard and look like it’s part of the car and not an optional add on

I don't think so. VW destroyed the ford ST range with GTIs.

I tend to disagree, I'm a 2018 Clio IV owner, I have have not had a single issue @ 197800km. Maybe you can share what issues you are referring to...
Same to me, in reaching 180000 on a clio 4 with no maintenance challenges, i dont know why ppl say its challenging

@@zorba4166 consider the many reviews online regarding this brand. Many of its parts are sourced from outside the country, it's unreliable to many and expensive to maintain when considering the wait time for parts and servicing. Not hearsay from a couple a people

I have a friend who is based in gauteng. He knows and admits that a polo is a great car but he bought a clio in 2020 because he was scared of hijacking😁
...but in actual fact no car is safe when it comes to theft. As long as you have a tracker and insurance you should be fine. You just have to pray that the thugs don't harm you in the event of hijacking😊

I am still not sure about French cars but I would just risk it and get Peugeot 208 1.2T Allure or it's German cousin Opel Corsa 1.2T elegance simply because of extra power they have compared to competition
But if I m buying using my head it will have to be VWPolo or Hyundai i20 or Kia Rio

This is a good looking car but I don't think it would age well, it one those car that the second a new model comes, you don't even want to look at old one.
I disagree... if Renault has taught me one thing, it's that they keep the best things that work for their cars over a good period and phase them out when necessary....from the 2014-2019 Clio models...if u don't own them it's normally hard to tell the difference but over time and careful understanding, you see small improvements on each model making it stay relevant over time without loosing it's essence. That's why this model only improved on the previous ones but still maintained what we truly love about the Clio...and thats the unapologetically cheeky but yet I'm not just everyone's type...kinnda car

Yes sunroof is very important in this segment, have you seen how good the new opel corsa n peugeot 208? For me those are the best looking cars on the segment but they lack a SUNROOF option which will be their downfall.
