  • In this extended beginner-level tutorial I take you through how to use Bricklink's LEGO building software Stud.io to build models, and then make building instructions for them! I go through the complete process of translating an actual model from beginning to end so you can see all of the steps, weird parts and hiccups you might encounter!

    Another great and informative video. I can't imagine having to to this for a model with over 1000 parts. So thank you for all the hard work you put into your models and videos, keep up the great work!

      Thanks Daan!! Hopefully it helps other folks who have ambitions to make custom Lego sets get there a little faster!! and yes, translating my 5600 piece millennium falcon for example, was a headache lol

    Thank you for this video. As a fan of your builds, the insight into your process and the very down to earth explanation of studio is extremely helpful to someone like me just starting to learn the more complex aspects of MOC building.

    Was just wondering when to take a break. At 1:53:00 this is a multi-break watch though. 😂

    Thank you, just submitted a simple model, and really struggled with the instructions.

      @@2bricks It was very useful. I'm familiar with CAD Software cos of work, so the designing was a piece of cake for me. But the instructions part was very useful, also watched the whole video now to catch some tips everywhere :)

    Thanks for this awesome tutorial, this was super useful! Ive been working on instructions for my first design and I am curious, is it possible to do the super small submodels in the instructions like lego does that are very simple and just a few pieces that go together in one step before connecting to main build, where it is shown in a box with the main build still on the page? I know thats kind of a specific thing but it would be nice if I could do that.

      Yes! That’s the part I talk about with “converting to a callout” if you google “Lego studio convert to callout” I’m sure there’s more in depth info

    Am I doing something wrong? In the instruction page layout when doing multiple builds using submodel e.g. 2X, the parts in the blue box do not multiply.

    • @2bricks
      @2bricks  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The sub-models all have to be on the same step, and if you are doing multiple sub models inside of a mirrored assembly- so like an engine on a wing that you copied and mirrored for example, the sub-models contained within that mirrored assembly don’t register as multiples of each other correctly. In that instance you have to re-copy all the sub-models you want to count as a x2 or x3. If that didn’t make sense I can go into more detail- sorry if I explained it badly

    • @danielpetryca2716

      Yeah i get that, the problem i have: for example take a simple 3brick submodel, and its 2x so the app automatically places a 2X however in the blue inventory box (usually top left corner next to the step number) it only shows 3 bricks not 6

    • @2bricks
      @2bricks  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s typical I think- though I have to double check. I’m pretty sure the steps only tell you how many bricks to use for that particular step, and the “x2” symbol just indicates “use this amount of bricks again to do this all over”
