    I always wonder if there is a single institution in Pakistan that actually cares for the well being of Pakistan. The military operates like a feudal enterprise. The politicians are feudal families. The judiciary just keeps switching sides between the two. No one gives a cheet about the common people.

      The military that you say operates like a feudal enterprise has always been the best option for Pakistanis in general. You only have to look at the history of how Pakistan was doing economically when it was under Military Rule and compare that to when the politicians were running it. Its unfortunate but Military seems to take less away and make the most out of what it has to offer to the common man than the absolute corrupt politicians. Imran was the only hope as a politicians. Hope and pray that this pandemonium gets sorted in a positive and peaceful way with PTI intact with Imran Khan ...

      @@HKhan-786 how do you think the military was able to bring economic change? By selling its own citizens to western powers, by getting large debts from IMF. After all this I can understand how you feel because I use to think the same way. But imagine once that you are living in a house your father gave you. You have a chauffer a driver, gate keeper and cook. One day the gate keeper decides I can drive the car so he took his job and started driving. Then he said I can cook as well so he started working as a cook. One day he says I can run this house better than its owner. Now this gate keeper is doing all the things he is not suppose to do except for gate keeping. Army is not made to take financial decision yet they have ingrained this thinking in our minds which is that they are the saviour of this country. There is a nexus of current politicians, army generals the same thing happened in East and west pakistan separation. They want corrupt govt. In power so it can be easily controlled.

      that is very sad reality......first time a politician stand for common people n they all ...politicians....army.....beaurucracyy........judiciary.....against him.......the state is powerful n the workers of pti are totally peaceful middle class young people who only know peaceful protest.....people r only asking for election n they r not arranging it n extended baseless excuses in fear that Khan will win n then he will bring them 8n courts of law ....obviously they have committed the crimes ...so in this fear they denied the election rights of people n make it a conflict between people n army......very depressing situation...

One of the finest political analysts in the subcontinent, has a real personality with lot of class, used to enjoy his talk shows,memorable one with Gen Musharraf at his Dubai apartment & Imran Khan and many others, the one on the Border with Pk Army was fabulous.
    ThePrint should have a permanent tie up with him for a weekly analysis show on Pakistan, He is the very best.
    Glad to know he is safe in NYU and doing his shows from there . Please share his link or will search him out.

    Wajahat has completely missed the point in saying that today's situation is unlike 1971! He is comparing the structural/physical aspects of the 1971 crisis. He is completely ignoring the PRINCIPLES upon which the conflict of 1971 was triggered. Now notice the similarities: 1) A popular party ANP (today's PTI) had won an election constitutionally (Imran is today calling for elections) and finally, Mujeeb (like Imran) was calling out the establishment for its involvement in politics. Because PPP and other parties (like today's PDM) did not want to see Mujib as PM (just like they don't want to see Imran today as PM), they ensured that all court, legal, and constitutional orders were violated. The Supreme Court has ordered elections to be held on 14th May but just like 1971, all of these orders are NOT BEING IMPLEMENTED. Today we are beginning to understand that PAKISTANI POLITICIANS AND ESTABLISHMENT ARE SARKASH PEOPLE. They have conveniently ignored court orders! BUT UNLIKE 1971 THE ARMY MUST LEARN A LESSON: REMAIN WITHIN YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL LIMITS
    !

      I thought elections were supposed to be in Oct this year.

    • @bb2680
      @bb2680 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johndoe-vc1we Many media organizations are confused that perhaps elections are due in October and Imrna is demanding "early elections. Actually as per the constitution, the elections need to be held in no less than 90 days after the current government's term. That 90 day deadline ended on 14th Ma. Hence, IK's demand for elections. The government's OCtober date is a delayed election date, hence the confrontation between PTI and the government. PTI's fear is that because eteh current administration came at the behest of the establishment there is a high chance that the government will not conduct elections if one accepts a delayed election date and the election date will keep postponing if once doesn't;t stick tot he constitutional deadline. The Supreme Court has also ordered the elections to be held on 14th May. But the irony is that the govt and the Election Commission both have refused to comply. After the Supreme Court's judgment the tension intensified further. In Pakistan, politicians and establishment (in particular) are SARKAsH hence the country has had several political crisis in its history.

      @jashan. The only ones blind here are you two freaks. The official surveys shows IK's popularity at 70%, unofficially more than that. When Modi messed it up in covid, IK ran the country smoothly with his smart lockdowns strategy. The GDP was growing more than 6% before he was ousted. So, get a grip!

    A little more than a fortnight ago, Mr. Wajahat in his own Vlog had published a Report Card of present Pak Army Chief Mr. Asim Munir, in which he described Mr. Asim Munir a non-performing miltary chief who is facing dissent against him among his subordinate generals. He rebuked the army chief as a failure. Now in conversation with "The Print" he has totally changed his opinion about Asim Munir. His assertions may not be reliable.

    In Pakistan: 24/7/365 Reign Of Terror, abductions, disappearances of anyone suspected of speaking bad against criminal gang of Pakistan Army, rampant corruption, black market, smuggling by criminal gang of Pakistan Army. Criminal Gang in Pakistan Army is not effected by bad economy because it has it's own money making system of black market, smuggling, corruption, separate economy from Pakistan's economy because Pakistan Army doesn't share it's economy with economy of Pakistanis. 99% Pakistanis live in another Pakistan and Pakistan Army live in another Pakistan. Pakistan Army owns Pakistan as a colony and 24 millions Pakistanis are slaves of Colonial Pakistan Army living in and ruling Pakistan from London's British Empire and USA.

    Imran Khan and all other politicians and military leaders are big time hypocrites. If he really believed that Bengalis were mistreated why he didn't render an official apology when he was in power, something Bangladesh government was demanding for such a long time. He is currently down and he is just using the atrocities done by Pakistan army against Bengalis, in order to show that he is also a popular leader like Mujib-ur-rehman and to threaten Pakistani establishment with yet another division.
    Pakistan army need to be held responsible for war crimes in Bangladesh and in Balochistann

The Print could perhaps have spoken to a Pakistani journalist with an open mind and unbiased mindset. WH must realize that speaking in a particular style and jugglery of words does not make a person sound like an intellectual.
