Nice video. Helps a lot. As a tip: The stanchions are very sensitive to stone chips. I recommend pulling fork sleeves over it right away on the way. Protects the pipes, the Simmerring and you can enjoy it longer. Maybe it doesn't look quite as chic.. but it's practical.
Well done, as always... My motorcycle has a similar assembly and I used a copper pipe that fit perfectly to set the seal. I first tried a plastic pipe, as I had seen on a video but it wouldn't seat correctly, but the copper pipe worked very well (with the old seal used as a spacer while tapping it in, so I wouldn't nick the new rubber).
Mitch, ive just been exposed to the scooter life, picked up a Suzuki 110 2stroke and a 150 4 stroke. both need a bit of tlc and this hit the spot. thanks and keep up the post.
Hey great video, do you have any experience with a fork of Kymco xciting 500? I fail to find what amount of oil should I put into it and how hard I have to tighten the screws, any help is welcome.
Question, whats with the t55 torques bit? I have a honda shadow with identical fork tubes. Does that torques simply dig in down in the damper tube and hold it while you tighten the screw? Had to get mine apart with a broom stick
Hello! I want to replace the original springs with more rigid ones. Having the oil relatively new (2 years) do you think i can replace the springs keeping the wheel and fender attached?
Mitch excellent video . ...These fors look very much like SV 650 forks...I'm having a problem with my SV forks . I dont know how to remove the yellow plastic piece at the end of the stanchion....I slide my dampner rod in , attach the lower leg and then the large bolt and now my forks wont extend ....Any one can help ?
(02 Kaw ZR7s) Yeah rite THANXS Mitch, the display is a GREAT!!! way to show something. But I been having a hell of a time getting my seals in far enough to put the retaining clip on I tried your way with 2 ball allen heads and still cant get them far enough in for the clip. I measured the old one they appear to be the rite thickness Im at a loss L.A. THANXS again Ill keep trying.
