I'm sure I'm going to be watching a lot more of these video's in the next couple of weeks. I just ordered new Tires, Brakes, Dyna-beads and a bunch more! I actually started watching these before I bought one and wound up with the same exact scooter as yours. The biggest difference is I'm pushing 70 and don't have any hair. GREAT TUTORIALS Mitch!
That was the most informative and detailed video I have ever watched. And not a single word was spoken. I can't wait to get my 400 and start wrenching. I know where to go to learn how to care for it.
Great tutorial as usual! I plan to just replace the brake fluid in the front brake system. Is there a special bleeding procedure for a 400 with the ABS system? Thanks!
Superb video, small remark to be added at start. Dont let fluid touch any painted surface because it kills the paint. Dont touch the fluid because it causes nervoussystem issues.
Thank you Mike! My cousin sold me his project Helix! I am trying to save up $$ to ship Helix to Hawaii from Washington State this summer! Very cool! I never ever worked or rode on Helix before.. I am looking forward to get my hands on one! 😄👍🏼
I noticed on your videos about replacing the caliper if there are nicks or scratches. I was trained that they wont cause any problem as there is a lot of clearance between the bore and piston. The important part is the piston and seals. This is what we were taught in Ford, GM and Chrysler Factory Schools. I have followed this with 100% success and no come backs for 50 years and thousands of brake jobs. If they are stating otherwise these days, I suspect it is to sell parts.
Mitch, there is usually a right way around for brake seals. The inner radius has a sharper edge which goes deep in the caliper and a less sharper edge which goes towards the pads.
Hey Mitch, as usual, your stuff is top-notch!! I have a yamaha 400 majesty 2009, with just one side with brake. It's the same steps, yes? Also, would you have a vid on how to do the front fork seal replacements? Cheers and thanks so much!!
salve come sempre bravissimo mi potresti dire quanto liquido freni serve per la sostituzione sia anteriore che posteriore e che marca di olio usi ti ringrazio
Great and a very helpful video!, I used copper grease on both side of pads, because it prevent become squeak when apply the brakes, plus I used silicone brake fluid lifetime without change (not subtle for some scooter)
Mitch! First off thank you so much! I hope you see this! Or anyone else who may know!! Is this the Same for a 2006 burgman 400? Also where would one find the torque wrench specs like you have listed on the screen? - are they In the manual somewhere? THANKS!
I don't know if you have already found out, but an 06 and 07 are a little different. But if you look on his home page he has a lot of videos for 06 and previous models. I never knew these existed till I started watching his video's and had quit riding bikes altogether. Then I picked up an 07 for 800$ put about 500 into it and it's like new. Love it. (I think you can download a service manual for free)
Hi Mitch! Do you have a plastic installation for the CH80 like you do for the Honda Elite 250? I swear I can't figure out how to take some pieces off of my CH80. Thanks! Love the instructional videos by the way
Hello Mitch, I recently subscribed. I have a ‘85 Elite, an ‘86 Helix and since two weeks a 2006 Burgman 400, because the Helix flooded with oil the whole driving unit giving a very sharp constantly rattling noise. I know you are in Hawaii now. I am in Montreal, an old man of 94, That Old Bob on TH-cam. Question: where is the problem. I am to old to work on it so how much of a repair could cost at a Honda dealer??? In Montreal, Canada. Thanks for the many high standard, very understandable videos.
Hi Mitch! Awesome content!! Quick question. My front brake (honda cbx 750f, from -84) locks while using it. When opening the valve on the caliper the piston goes back and the pressure releases. You think I just have to redo the entire brake system? Or where would you start looking for the issues. Sorry for bad explanation. Cheers!!
Careful measuring the discs with a caliper lads if it has any kind of a lip it's easy to get a false reading, make sure you have the caliper angled so the jaws only contact the wear area. Or use a micrometer or similar

Un abrazo desde España.

I'm a Mitch too, and just bought a 2009 Burgman. I just went to start it and have a dead battery, thanks for the video on that.

I appreciate your doing the Burgman videos.
Love your videos, Mitch! It's about time you got yourself a Honda Helix! I just bought my second Helix and I can't wait for warmer weather!

Great and a very helpful video!, I used copper grease on both side of pads, because it prevent become squeak when apply the brakes, plus I used silicone brake fluid lifetime without change (not subtle for some scooter)

And the interior of the clamps, where the cylinders work, we do not clean, we go back without removing the polish?
How did you get the pistons in that easily? I had to press them in
Vielen Dank für das Video!

Thanks Marcus ! Oh yeah good idea and keep you safe on the road!

Your lever is keeping the pump "engaged" so the fluid cant come back in the reservoir....
Este hombre es un genio.
Thank you very much, Professor, very useful information
ماشاء الله عليك اخي الكريم تحياتي ليك من المغرب

There are some things Mitch shows that I will attempt...this is NOT one of them! Lol

Yup!
매우 상세히 알려주는 영상 매우 감사합니다.
Very good , Thanks guy 👊👊👊
