Another strategy for getting the Kindness thing for my fellow solo players: just join a public event like Moonshine Jamboree, Radiation Rumbe or Swarm of Suitors, where there are truckloads of enemises spawning everywhere. Trust me, some of the players WILL go down (been there myself lol), and then you just rush to them and revive them. Worked for me, sure hope it works for you as well ❤️
I just started playing I'm a level 21. I'm scared to join a team cause I'm really slow at playing. That's why I don't play mmo games but I love all the fallout games. Fallout 4 is my favorite of them all.

Never. Ever. Go to that silly, time wasting, no good reward having, event called "Moonshine jamboree". It's not worth your time just go do a daily ops for 3x better xp and rewards.
@@MadM1968Yeah don't be afraid to join a random casual teams for the bonus stuff and the free map travels to their bases and locations for easy questing. Everyone does the same. I don't think I've ever even played in the same instance as a team member. You could even start one on your own if you're looking for a specific buff. The majority are in it for the +INT for xp bonus (+2% XP per INT) and the group XP buff in charisma perks. People pop in and out all the time on their own schedule...that's that's just part of the game.
Another important tip for carry weight is to make sure you have all unyielding armor. Unyielding alone, no matter what kind of base armor it is, adds 3 points to every special category except endurance. So, each piece is giving you 15 extra pounds of carry weight alone. However, if you make all of your armor pocketed/deep pocketed.. that will give each piece an additional 5-10 pounds of carry weight for a total of 20-25 pounds for each piece of armor. That definitely adds up. I don’t even have the extra carry weight mod and my base carry weight without food buffs is well over 400 pounds.
You can almost get that from calibrated shocks power armor. It allows me to run full health builds which are very nice for daily ops because you do not die unless you’re stupid (overeaters is overpowered and you should try it)

@@slyllamademon2652 Oh, with food buffs and calibrated shocks, my carry weight is 550-600. Thanks for reminding me to continue on this backpack journey. I started playing FO76 in December 2020 and i forgot about this quest. I had about half of it done so it took less than an hour to finnish it. I dont have the badges to upgrade it yet but it still is a 30lb increase from my regular backpack :)
I just completed the Backpack quest thanks to your guide! I was procrastinating it because of how tedious and daunting the quest appeared to be. But thanks to your breakdown of locations and what to do, your explanation helped me earn it. Thanks!
Quests like these make my eyes roll so hard. Who ever thought fast traveling should cost caps is a monster Edit: apparently voicing a real problem for new players isn’t ok 😂 the game gets a tad easier after 400 hours guys, but not everyone has or will play for that long. I made this post when I was level 17 or so, and that character is now around 245, game changes some in that gap…
Set up your vendor and do events you won’t worry about caps once you can carry all do it every time and sell things you can’t scrap like food and unneeded chems ✌️
I agree but it's not so bad, use the caps cost less perk, go to a nearby free fast travel, boom, travelling only costs 10 caps about edit: 10 caps for far travels
Once you complete the tadpole challenges and can earn possum badges ther are also three events that have a small random chance to drop possum badges. The two daily events you can do everyday are Stings and Things from the beginning of this video and the other is Operation Tidy which you start from the robot at Kiddy Corner Cabins. The third event you can get a badge from is Campfire Tales which is random. It's a small chance but I've probobly given or sold a half dozen high capacity bag plans away and bought all other available plans with badges I've gotten this way.
Just started playing this a few weeks ago, and this will help me so much. I always have to keep making trip back to my camp after just searching just a few locations.
If the kill bear with syringer challenge works the way the rest of the "kill enemy with a BLANK" challenges work, you can hold the syringer and use grenades to kill it and it will still count. For the crossbow challenge, it doesn't matter what enemies you kill - it can be fireflies, squirrels, opposums... The forest region is great for finding all of these at low levels. I find that archer, athletics and mammalian are the easiest badges to obtain. The biggest challenge for mammalian is milking a brahmin 10 times, but between flatwoods, the Wayward and the pond across the road from Pleasant Valley train station there are usually enough brahmin around to get the job done. If not, server hop.
Yes! Completed the crossbow kills at Fastnacht where the small animals spawn continuously for the intestines needed for sausage. Way easier than trying to kill actual enemies with a crossbow. 😁
Good high-effort content right here. The cherry on top is the very clear map references, so I actually know where to go (something most FO76 videos do poorly).
Just a heads up, instead of using the syringer like you normally would, if you do bashing attacks it'll do more damage and it'll still count towards the kill
I watched the video thinking at the end id have a 120 slot bag.... that's not the case. You will have a 60- slot bag and then have to dump hours to get 8 more challenges done to buy the upgrade for the extra 60 slots.
Yea. I just got the 60 lb bag. Im thinking ill just leave it there. Just hit level 60 and i still have the main quest to finish, let alone all the dlc stuff. If im still playing by that point ill consider the extra slots. Though its also worth noting that the daily quests to kill bugs and clear the camp sludge have a chance to drop the badges. So its possible to eventually get it without those quests
Do those dailys every single day bud. Do the campfire takes event every single time it pops. I only did those and I got my extra 60 carry weight in like 12 days. My friend got it in around 6 -7 days.
Helpful tip as well, if you have mysterious man perk active, even if he shows up and kills the enemy in VATS it still counts as your weapon kill as long as the proper weapon is equipped when the kill is made
This vid is THE most helpful one I could find for doing the Tadpole quests I have found. I have a deep respect for you anyway but this video is incredibly helpful to me as I have been confounded with this quest for ages. So thanks!😀
Another big help to boosting your carry weight is through food and drink. With the carnivore mutation (which you can use a serum to acquire), all meat products have double effects. Grilled Radstag gives you a bonus 40 carry capacity. Grilled Deathclaw Steak gives you +4 strength. If you use the Party Boy / Party Girl perk card at rank 2, Whiskey gives a +6 strength buff as well. Plus, if you use Psychobuff or Bufftats, that's an additional +3 strength. And ALL of these can be active at once. that's an additional 105 carry capacity. And the fun thing is, is that if you just need the extra boost to fast travel while overencumbered, the Party Boy / party girl perk card only needs to be on when you drink the whiskey. You can immediately remove it afterwards and retain the 3x bonus.
Thank you. Using your vid and another's . Helped me complete Tadpole and now working on Possum badges to get high capacity mod. i don't have alot of caps right now, so working my way through challenges. Thank you again.
The crossbow was level 45. I had to find a plan and craft one. You can find the plan at the camp were you start on the very first quest for this backpack. It's on a table not far from spawn point.
For the crossbow, something that could help are public events with plenty of enemies and just shooting one mob only once and let the others finish it would also count in the crossbow kills
Is that confirmed or a guess. I know I went with a friend to hunt the bears and she did not get credit for the syringer kill even though she shot it many many times. We had to go to a different one and let her finish it off. Maybe the crossbow challenge is coded differently. I hope im wrong. Would make second playthoughs easier lol
by far the easiest way i found was to farm the squirrels during the faschnaut event. Took me literally 2 minutes to finish that challenge as they infinitely respawn.
Amazing tutorial!!! Ive been crawling through the wasteland because the base gears i need is like 100 carry weigh and that leaves me only 100 for junk. This is incredibly helpful, thankyou!!
Instead of hunter badge I would recommend the swimming badge, you just need to do the swim test, revive a friend in the water and then just take some pictures at the water park, took about 10-20 minutes for that badge, then no need to get all those weapons and find the enemy’s. If you can’t find a friend to revive then definitely do the hunter then
@@daugintas1 it’s not that hard to make a friend on 76 I only started last scoreboard and already gained 4, just look out for a nice player, most people would be glad to help you, maybe even just messege a random and ask if they can help you out real fast
Thanks for the video it was tedious asf to do all of this for a backpack however, your guide really helped a bunch. Broke it down very , easy to follow steps. Thanks !
Tip for the target with the skeleton on it in the archery range, before you start it try to bash the skeleton off of it, if you have any type of explosive then it’ll be easier to do.

I just did what he said.....I joined a public event, the alien invasion event, and I waited for someone to go down and I revived him. Make sure the quest is active. I have revived at least 5 or 6 people in the past and it didn't take until I made that quest active. Make sure it's in the active description shown on your screen.
This game should win an award for best community bc I play anything/everything least once and nothing compares to 76 community and how helpful/nice/welcoming it is. It's the goat community
When working on the syringer challenge for the bear (or really anything) it's a good idea to make multiple and scrap a few until you get the mod that does damage over time. Helps immensely
You have a chance to earn Possum badges every time you do the Campfire Tales event and the two dailies Operation Tidy and Stings and Things. If you intend to do the latter, you can collect the parts ahead of time. Going to Aaronholt Homestead will get you bloatfly glands and bloodbug proboscis, at the end of the farm where you can gather cranberries. Doing the Project Beanstalk event at Silva Homestead will get you stingwing barbs. Like he says in the video, there are between 1 and 3 ticks (you need their blood sacs) behind Dolly Sods Wilderness. I keep them in my stash (under junk), and just grab one of each when I'm about to do the mission. When you "scrap all," they won't automatically scrap, so you can't accidentally do that. The only thing that leaves is radroach meat. There is almost always a radroach in the locked (lvl 2) closet in the same room where you pick up the daily. If not, going out the back door, you'll see a nearby house that has one on the second floor. In fact, you can usually lock onto it with VATS from outside. You can just show up with 4 of the 5 things on you, grab the radroach kill, pick up the daily and turn it right in.
Tip: Have a friend help you finish off the animals with the Pipe Syringer. Long as you have hit the creature with the PS, your friend can Coup de grace the tagged creature. (ALso works with Mistress of Mystery Quest to kill X amount of enemies with the Blade of Basset) Campfire Tales also gives you a random Badge from time to time. I did notice it does give you one every time she tells the tale of the Scout Master.
Second time doing these quests. First time this video helped SO much and made the challenge not feel as daunting. Second time should be a breeze once again with this guide. Thank you so much MrWestTek for this wonderful guide :)
As a new player, (only 1 month playing and level 130), your videos have been invaluable for a noob learning the game. I watched most of your beginner videos and working through the rest. This one is super useful as I really struggle with carry weight. Just a note, next to the place that you do the archery range challenge their is a crossbow plan on the table always unless someone took it. One thing I am interested in that you mentioned in this video is reddit trading. I was lucky enough to get the Travelling leather coat on day one of playing, second ever event I did, used up all my luck and almost scrapped it in my great cache purge but didn't have any clothes that looked better so early. Then saw it in your video 'rarest Outfits' and thought lucky on two counts. So thanks again. I've been thinking of trading it as gear may be more useful so early in my fallout 76 experience but no idea how to go about that. Any video you have that maybe helps or advice on what I should be doing or can realistically get for the coat? Once again thanks for helping out with these great videos and I look forward to seeing more.
@@sndrc9 I'm 290 now. I used Mr Westek's guide using the super mutants at West tek and all the XP boosters I can find. Also I always do Radiation Rumble and pop lunchboxes if no one else does. Can get 5-10 levels per event with evil quad tesla :) I'm on PC if you ever want to join for levelling
Another tip for the Crossbow 50 kills is that anything that is alive counts, so go ahead and get some random animals down I did that easy peasy during Fasnacht
The hi-cap backpack is useful if you carry so many bits and bobs, but IMHO a Grocer's or Chemist's pack (half the weight, but you get 90% weight reduction on food/drink or chems) can reduce your perceived weight even more, and is much easier to attain than getting 8 possum badges. Obviously the best scenario is one where you've got five pieces of weapon or food/drink/chems weight reduction, _plus_ the hi-cap backpack, but grinding for all of that takes quite some time.
I think the Chemist's mod is pretty great. There's no draw back and you no longer have to use Traveling Pharmacy, thus freeing up Strength perk card slots for other weight reducing perks.
Just did the tadpole quest yesterday before this guide was out hahaha. Also there are some bug spawns in the cabin so you might get lucky. If you choose the hunter tadpole quest you can use the syringer along with the mysterious stranger peek to kill the yaoguy or however you spell it. It helped a lot to kill it only doing 5 damage.
I just came back to fallout 76 and I'm suprized it's gotten so much better my main complaint was the balance for thirst and hunger it was terrible and I was constantly overweight with food and water to survive. It was super annoying its changed a good bit and I enjoy my time on the game now. Its alot of fun with friends I dont have many friends that are as casual as me. But that's whatever I do like how helpful people are as well it's a nice refresher on what gaming was back in the day the feel good gaming helping your fellow gamers thrive
@@xdqwg Does the possum backpack give you 60 carry weight as well? Or does it give you more than that? Is there even a point in getting it if you already have the tadpole backpack?
@@darthsilversith667 the standard backpack you get from tadpoles gives 60 carry weight. Adding the high capacity mod gives +60 taking it to 120. If you use the refrigerated it drops from the standard 60 to 30. But you get 50% slower food spoilage.
@CC Memes oh yeah, I just got lucky with public events. Reviving people there counts to and is something you'd do anyway on your own. Just be closer than usual to your allies and be on the lookout.
yeah... i think i'm just gonna play the game slowly and stop trying to max out asap, every thing worth getting has proven to be a task that is so boring and time consuming that if i did them back to back i'd probably quit the game
There's a radroach for the meat behind the locked level 2 door near treadly, you can jump over the wall if you have marsupial rather than going to under the pylon and sometimes some of the bugs you need spawn in the house behind dolly sods. Also bleeding kate grindhouse near riverside manor has stingwings.
New player to 76 after watching the show (have a ton of hours into FO4) and I’ve been playing this game for a few weeks now and the community is awesome! Random people will see I’m low level and drop me items and scrap all the time. One guy even gave me a full power armor set! Great experience so far
For those wondering, the 1st backpack is actually just in the overseers stash outside of the ... wanderer? The bar just outside the vault that has you put up the crane sign. Anyways, they changed it at some point and now you can find it sitting in the stash.
The community is very helpful and friendly kind of an odd thing given a lot of MMO are fill with toxic pricks. It helps a lot because these missions are boring and tedious. Much appreciated.
If you are doing this in 2024 make sure you make the tasty Yao guai roast and not the ribs like he did in the video. You will fail 78 times like me and waste so much time and resources. Unless mine is glitched. Only worked when I crafted the tasty Yao gaui roast.
The community is the best, i saw a guy who had 7 of “the fixer” plans and i went up to him and started playing charades since he didn’t have a mic but dude gave me a fully modded fixer and the plan for it
You don't want either of these mods. You want the chemist or grocers mods you get for gold bullion at crater and foundation. They reduce wight of chems or food by 90% which frees up 3 perk slots for you, especially important for melee builds that need strength perk slots.
@MrWestTek I suppose it depends on the build, I use full unyielding with high strength to I already have 600lb capacity with the standard backpack, makes the other mods more viable for me and they don't have a negative effect like the 120lb mod does. I feel like the fridge mod is kind of pointless because the good with salt card is superior and has no negative effects either, plus you can just put a fridge at your CAMP for the same effect.
A combination of the two daily events Stings and thing, and whatever the other was and the challenges can get you the mods in a few days easy enough. Also the syringer does have a mod(forget the name) that requires ten rad scorpion stingers that is decent damage though I still recommend pre damaging with a better weapon.
Pro tip from a player that used to help people get their backpacks. There's usually Stingwings or Bloatflies and sometime some Radroaches inside the Dolly Sods cabins. You don't really have to go far to get most of the items.
'Easy' Backpack guide immediately starts with 'it's going to take a long time' and 'tedious.' Only recently found this channel and it seems most of your guides are like this. Read the comments, you're not helping new players with this stuff.
For the one struggling with the yao guai with the syringer, you can bash it to death with your syringer. I ran out of bullets, but not option and the challenge did get updated.
You can also get the Yao Guai killed with a Syringer if you Melee attack while holding the Syringer! Thats how I did it and it wasn't as bad died a few times in the process though
If anyone sees this today, a heads up with the hunting, you can bash with the weapons to kill & it’ll still count. It’s better to melee with the Stringer rather than shooting for awhile lol
Also the swimming and the photographer (if you have the bucket list quest started) badges are easy to get too. Omg. To get the bear with the syringer go to the Philippi Battlefield Cemetery. Where he tells you to get the black powder pistol. On the second floor balcony it overlooks a parking lot where one spawns. Just shoot it with any weapon to get its health down to 1 or 2 shots left and switch over to the syringer and finish it off (You don't need to use it for the entire fight just as long as the last shot is with the named weapon. This goes for any of the Hunting badge requirements). It spawns close enough to attack it but too far away for it to know where you are shooting it from. It will freak out a bit and start running around the parking lot but you are safe on the balcony.
Thanks a lot Sir. I was lost and now I am found. The freaking clean up man. I was really stuck getting killed by all those monsters. Level 12 now I am. Just wanted to add some numbers here, the refrigerator mod will reduce carry weight by 30lbs, and the high cap reduces energy and rad resist by 60 points. Probably won't be too bad for most builds but if you run somthing like stealth armor it might be better to go regular or refrigerator.
If you need help with the kindness just ask low level just starting out players to help and in return bless them with stems ammo and other essentials that’s how I got it done oh and when you are doing the quest to get the bug parts there were some bloat flies right past the ticks in one of the cabins for me so I’d check there too & carry the weapons you need for the hunter challenge because you can run in to not only the Yao guai but also ragstags to get some of that done as well
I dunno if he said it but you can also get possum badges from doing the camper tales event at the southwest of the map in the forest area right above the coal area. It gives you one possum badge with each completion and is pretty easy except there’s a chance for it to spawn some hard enemies at the end
there are several mods for the bag but the most reccomended is the chemist's modification since it massively reduces the weight of all chems + stimpaks. my personal fav mod in the game

Cool ! 😎
These challenges were a bastard to do but thanks to this guide I’ve finally got my backpack
I just completed the Backpack quest thanks to your guide! I was procrastinating it because of how tedious and daunting the quest appeared to be. But thanks to your breakdown of locations and what to do, your explanation helped me earn it. Thanks!
Very glad I could help. This quest is a tough one, hope I made it easier :)
Quests like these make my eyes roll so hard. Who ever thought fast traveling should cost caps is a monster
Edit: apparently voicing a real problem for new players isn’t ok 😂 the game gets a tad easier after 400 hours guys, but not everyone has or will play for that long. I made this post when I was level 17 or so, and that character is now around 245, game changes some in that gap…
Wouldn't be such an issue if we got compensated more caps per quest
Set up your vendor and do events you won’t worry about caps once you can carry all do it every time and sell things you can’t scrap like food and unneeded chems ✌️
@@mattmcdonald8348 my main character is lvl 350+, and I have no trouble with caps for him, but damn it’s hard to start out
@@KinaIchi i remember the start and would get so poor of fast travel alone
I agree but it's not so bad, use the caps cost less perk, go to a nearby free fast travel, boom, travelling only costs 10 caps about
edit: 10 caps for far travels
Once you complete the tadpole challenges and can earn possum badges ther are also three events that have a small random chance to drop possum badges. The two daily events you can do everyday are Stings and Things from the beginning of this video and the other is Operation Tidy which you start from the robot at Kiddy Corner Cabins. The third event you can get a badge from is Campfire Tales which is random. It's a small chance but I've probobly given or sold a half dozen high capacity bag plans away and bought all other available plans with badges I've gotten this way.
How much caps u selling it for the backpack cause earning the badges gonna be hard for possum I'd buy it for caps from ya
Thanks for the event list. Sometimes the number of events can be overwhelming for folks new to 76.
@@djreaper4867 you find anyone to buy the plan from? Lol

These are some of the most ridiculous quests I have ever had to do, all just to increase inventory space.
Helpful tip as well, if you have mysterious man perk active, even if he shows up and kills the enemy in VATS it still counts as your weapon kill as long as the proper weapon is equipped when the kill is made
Great tip :)
This vid is THE most helpful one I could find for doing the Tadpole quests I have found. I have a deep respect for you anyway but this video is incredibly helpful to me as I have been confounded with this quest for ages. So thanks!😀
Very glad to help! This quest can be a pain. Thanks for commenting :)
With shared mutations death law stark is 6 str
Why whiskey if you have Magic Liquor
@@Johnaspwnz whiskey is 6 str.
Or you could just use a backpak
@@thecricket1564or you could do both and become the god of carrying
You made this so easy man , it took me exacly as long as you said I’m glad I finally got the bag
The easiest way would actually be fashnacht even tho it's not around 100% of time
Amazing tutorial!!!
If you can’t find a friend to revive then definitely do the hunter then
Hunter 100% no friends no worries😢
@@daugintas1 it’s not that hard to make a friend on 76 I only started last scoreboard and already gained 4, just look out for a nice player, most people would be glad to help you, maybe even just messege a random and ask if they can help you out real fast

It'll be a pain, but if you keep chopping at the tree, it'll eventually fall. (Fallout in a nutshell). Good luck! You got this :)
Lost me at: "revive a friend"
Easy to do when playing at events like Scorchbeast. Doesn’t need to be a friend, just revive another player.
I just did what he said.....I joined a public event, the alien invasion event, and I waited for someone to go down and I revived him. Make sure the quest is active. I have revived at least 5 or 6 people in the past and it didn't take until I made that quest active. Make sure it's in the active description shown on your screen.
I joined a team of lowlevel players . Helped them a bit and waited for one of them to die. Always an eye on there energie, it did not take long.
A random just walked into my camp and I gave him a few things and asked him to do me a favor and I got it cool dude

This game should win an award for best community bc I play anything/everything least once and nothing compares to 76 community and how helpful/nice/welcoming it is. It's the goat community
100% agree :)
Had no idea Campfire Tales could give you those
Did they nerf the high capacity mod? I just completed the quest, went to the merchant and the mod only gives you +10 extra carry weight
I noticed that today. That really sucks if they did that!
Thanks for pointing this out
Can anyone confirm?
Negative. Just picked it up. Still +120.
I am glad you're still making videos man keep it up. :)
Thanks, will do!
Tip: Have a friend help you finish off the animals with the Pipe Syringer. Long as you have hit the creature with the PS, your friend can Coup de grace the tagged creature. (ALso works with Mistress of Mystery Quest to kill X amount of enemies with the Blade of Basset)
Campfire Tales also gives you a random Badge from time to time. I did notice it does give you one every time she tells the tale of the Scout Master.
😂 Trying to get all the tadpole awards are crazy hard.

Another tip for the Crossbow 50 kills is that anything that is alive counts, so go ahead and get some random animals down I did that easy peasy during Fasnacht
Mole Rats here I come lol...does it have to be that crossbow given...or any crossbow?
@@doughnutdoney997 No, you can use any Crossbow.. but it's easier if you can craft one
Agreed very useful to have saves a lot of weight when carrying meds
I use Grocers and Traveling Pharm.
@@JeffMyers409 Thats not a bad combo. I only ever carry just enough food and water on me to keep my guy going between trips to and from camp

If you are doing this in 2024 make sure you make the tasty Yao guai roast and not the ribs like he did in the video. You will fail 78 times like me and waste so much time and resources. Unless mine is glitched. Only worked when I crafted the tasty Yao gaui roast.
Where do I get the recipes for them?
The community is the best, i saw a guy who had 7 of “the fixer” plans and i went up to him and started playing charades since he didn’t have a mic but dude gave me a fully modded fixer and the plan for it
You don't want either of these mods. You want the chemist or grocers mods you get for gold bullion at crater and foundation. They reduce wight of chems or food by 90% which frees up 3 perk slots for you, especially important for melee builds that need strength perk slots.
I'd rather have the high capacity mod.
@@MrWestTek you must not be a horder 😂

For the one struggling with the yao guai with the syringer, you can bash it to death with your syringer.
I ran out of bullets, but not option and the challenge did get updated.
Thank you so much! I love this game so much, and thanks to you, it got so much better!
Glad I can help 😁
Oh my gawd your a lifesaver! Thank you for making a tedious event so easy.
