The fact we are having bagels at the WTA Finals shows that some of them are already done for the season.
Which is crazy considering how lucrative the prize pool is compared to most WTA events outside of Grand Slams.

Coco’s offensive game and forehand are keeping improving that’s nice to see. She understood that she needs to be complete to keep that high level she has since Cincinnati.
Gauff’s superior fitness and prowess is really beginning to pay dividends now. All parts of her game are so much stronger.

Coco's radiate in more ways than one. Her skin is flawless & glowing & her tennis skills outstanding. What a joy it is to see her constantly thriving & rising. She's obviously very fit & takes very good care of her body. I've never seen her breathing hard, out of breath or sweating much; she's got loads of energy, runs so many balls down, and covers the court well; her serve is strong & only getting better. She's the whole package. Whatever you're doing, Ms. Gauff, keep it up because you're definitely on the winning side. Just remain humble, close to your parents & the Lord, and keep that same coaching & physio team you've hired. Bravo & well done, beautiful one! All the best to you, Miss Coco Gauff.
i know Ons didn’t play that well, but this match still shows how high of a level Gauff can play at when her forehand isn’t a weakness

I think winning the us open was all Coco needed to finally start believing in her abilities. Now she’s going to her run to number 1 and more slams.

Dare I say that Ons Jabeur is currently a MENTALLY SHOT player. Whenever I see her in any type of interview she looks like she is going to lose it lamenting all her Grand Slam Final LOSSES. If I were a betting person right now I don't think that she will ever WIN ONE in the remainder of her Career. That's why Coco is now set for life because she doesn't have to ever hear that talk for the rest of her Career.
Tell that to Penko, Bianca, Em Rudders, and Kenin among others. All won slams, all suck ass.

It’s safe to say Iga, Coco and Sabalenka are the 3 best on tour. The rest is so up and down.
Elena is up there with them, but she is very injury-prone
Elena and Jessie just as good (maybe Jessie right below without a slam) bur both of them are injury (Elena) and anxiety (Jessie) prone. But these two can mix it up with the big 3 for sure. I'd also put Karo Muchova in the mix, but like Elena she's so injury prone.

I mean, out of all the Grand Slams why Roland Garros? Iga has won several titles on clay and has proven to be the leading specialist for that surface on the WTA Tour. Coco Gauff will absolutely be a contender at the Australian Open though. I think as Gauff develops more as a player and young woman, we will see her become an all court surface player and contend for each of the Grand Slams almost equally.
The French Open is not organized by Americans. Gauff has no chance there.

Another day, another trip to the WTA bakery. Despite 2 lengthy rain delays & a tricky final game fending off 3 break points, Gauff gulfs Jabeur, jamming up her opponent to win 6-0 6-1 in 57mins.
After losing in the Beijing SF & missing out on 1K points & $1M+ dollars, Gauff ditched the giant, too tight cornrows & is serious about reversing her negative h2h against Swiatek. Gauff brought Brad Gilbert to Cancun in an effort to claim her first WTA Finals match win.
With that auspicious start, Gauff now moves to the top of her group with a 92% game score above Swiatek's 68%. Only one will make it out of the RR stage without harm. Gauff's forehand looked very good, but she still needs to improv her percentage of 1st serves in. Gauff performed well on her 2nd serve which was key.

Tam jest duża wilgotność, wysoka temperatura, wiatr, deszcz, nierówny kort a zawodniczkom nie dali czasu żeby nawet solidnie potrenować na tym korcie, żeby mogły się do niego przyzwyczaić. Stąd jedne zawodniczki przystosowują się do tych warunków lepiej a inne w ogóle nie mogą się dostosować. Świątek też w pierwszym secie nie mogła się w ogóle odnaleźć i dopiero od 2:5 zaczęła grać normalnie i nie popełniać aż tyle błędów. Nie powinno się wybierać miejsca tak późno. Mężczyźni wiedzieli gdzie będą finały wiele miesięcy wcześniej, wtedy i zawodnicy i organizatorzy mogą się lepiej przygotować. Nie powinno się robić tak ważnej imprezy na wariata, na ostatnią chwilę. Wszystkie zawodniczki skarżą się na warunki i że nie miały czasu na treningi na kortach na których będą grały.

It's hot and humid, the balls are flying plus Coco top spin @Jabeur has trouble adjusting.... playing every ball long or out. Too many mistakes 😪 makes a lousy match to watch.

Coco had a huge supremacy against Jabeur throughout the whole showdown but another factor is related to the inextricable unforced errors of professional Tunusian tennis competitor. She shouldn't definitely recur the same unforced errors in the upcoming clashes. I hope Ons will recover dynamism and mobility within this stage.

no one talks about how similar her swing preparation is to the Williams sisters. She prepares so early now compared to her debut at wimbledon. Like with the Williams sisters, early preparation leads to more power and more precision which is definitely evident in Coco’s game now.

Coco played great - not sure if Ons is fully recovered from the multiple injuries she’s had this year. I think the bagels in Iga’s and Aryan’s matches have to do with them both super motivated to get to year end No 1.

@@funkslave9425 Iga hasn't made any progress for a year, she's probably already reached her limit... but Cori is making progress every month, her forehand will soon be as deadly as her backhand and then that will be very difficult to beat her...
Funny you mention that. BG said before the last tourney started they will be working more on her forehand and serve and the goal is to have the most accurate, fast serve in the WTA in 2024. @@axelltullup2638

Coco played a good match. Ons Jabeur is not easy to beat. I am hopeful that once she gets to the likes of Iga and Sabalenka she can hold her form. She seems to play more timid when playing Iga at least in the last tourney she did. It was rather odd. Her forehand is getting stronger and stronger though.
Ons does not play well at all anymore. She is her own worst enemy!

Its weird that both Jabeur & Sakkari got bagels in first sets. U wouldnt expect that in WTA Finals.. Coco looks stronger than US Open! Her backhand which was already a strength is crisper with more of a snap in the wrist. Scary that she hasnt even reached her prime yet!
