I thought you'd like a look at this nicely restored 1978 Dodge Warlock pickup. This truck is very similar to the Dodge Little Red Express trucks from the same time. This truck looks like new, both inside and out. The black paint is ultra slick, it has nice gold pinstriping details, and the interior is extremely well kept as well. Under the hood, the V8 is nicely detailed and is topped with an Edelbrock intake and four barrel carb. The bed has been completely redone and it's riding on a set of American Racing wheels with Hoosier tires. This truck needs nothing and is ready to go. Thanks for checking it out!

Boy, oh boy Jeff! Brought back some memories. In 1980 my best friend Bob picked up the 360 cubic inch version of the LIL RED EXpress as a '79 left over. We were both 18 and I always loved my sports cars and he loved MOPAR all the way and he thought he was something in this. Those side pipes got me a few times with the black carbon when I was talking and he'd start the truck I was speckled in black head to waist. Hahaha.

      @Gracies_vlogs 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I remember them doing that. I heard of owners drilling a drain hole in the pipes to let moisture out so that wouldn’t happen on a cold start

I'm 50 and a Ford man but I love these older muscle trucks/cars, they sound so tough not like the candy ass vehicles of today. I mean you can put a kick ass exhaust on a Ford escort and make it sound tough, but there ain't nothing under the hood to back it up. These older vehicles just sounded tough and looked mean. Love them great video

There was one of these in my neighborhood a few years back. It was the factory light green; used as a work beater by an Hispanic man. Sadly, it was pretty well rusted and he likely had no idea what he owned! Eventually I didn't see it anymore so it probably gave up the ghost and got junked. No idea which engine it had, could have been a 400 or 440 for all I know. Also, a Lil Red Express sat on a vacant lot near my home for years; eventually the lot was developed and the truck was gone.

Lots of memories for me. I worked in vehicle development at Chrysler from 69 on. My 78 Harley was the same color scheme at work they often thought that I was using Design Lab Secrets because in 1970 I also drove a purple Plymouth and they thought I stole that from the paint lab I'm just insightful. The little red truck that they won the race with that labeled it the fastest in the country that year was really worked over and I did most of the dyno work. We were vary happy with the resaults. Oh 360 4bbl..

There was one of these for sale in a used car
    Lot in 1989.
I was having trouble in highschool and my Dad whom was divorced from my Mom told me that if I graduated he would buy me that truck.
So I doubled down and finished up all my late work and
    Testing and just barely graduated.
So I visited him in East Palestine Ohio and we passed the used car lot where that truck was and I said “Hey Dad …there’s that truck I really want……remember what you said to me if I graduate you’ll buy that truck for me?”
He said “No….I said if you
    Make honor roll.”
I just laughed cause I knew another let down was coming but I just wanted to check.
Anyways that year I ended up buying a 71 swinger with a 198/6 and three in the tree.
It was such a fun car to drive.
I since sold that car but found a 67 notchback Cuda that took 12 years to build with a sick 360/4 speed and 4:11 gears, rook cage, custom interior, custom hemi orange and stripe scheme.
    One of a kjnd .
A mild 550 HP and handling capabilities of a police pursuit car.
I’m so glad my Dad didn’t spoil me because sometimes let downs just make us tougher go getters but they do teach us things like to always be a man of your word and to teach others the skills you learned in life.

I had bought a 1977 Dodge 100 Fleetside with a short box two wheel drive, but I got the truck from the bank.
I seen this truck sitting in this bank parking lot under a big pile of snow. I went into the bank about the truck.
Manager said if you dig that truck out of that snow pile you can have it free, it took me 3 hours with a plastic snow shovel you keep in the vehicle for winter.
When I got the truck out and the owner of this gas station came over and told me that they will push my truck inside to thaw out for free.
But as I learned more about this truck nobody in town knew where this truck came from.
The next morning I was over at the gas station to work on getting it running. This one guy told me that this truck is correct number truck, except for the box but this truck had a 440 Magnum engine in it already from the factory.
It was fast every weekend I had to replace back tires I just burn them off, it had 100 miles per hour speedometer and I have had the needle laying on 45 , so I think it would be 145 mph?

I like to think/hope that the Lil Red that sat around the corner from me was bought and restored by someone, but it probably went to Muscle Car (And Truck) Heaven. A friend of mine also owned a Lil Red Express for a short time and it was darn fast. Still another languished in a yard the next town over from me, at a house that always had Challengers, Chargers, etc. sitting about. There was also the rare Midnite Express package--I saw one, or a clone of one, at a Mopar/AMC show back in 2000.

79 Lil Red Express, with stacks was straight up ( ! ) Fastest passenger vehicle in 79. Sold as Truck, had no catalytic converter, which freed up a few ponies from police 360. "Gold Express MAY have been 80s, likely a trim in/out package of power accessories and a/c on a 4x4 long or short bed added to Prospector (crossed pickaxe emblems/trim) package.

Only the 1978 Lil Red Express had no cats. In 1979, the Feds cracked down and Dodge had to install cats. The 1978 engine also had a Holley carb and special heads that the 1979 did not have.

Stock Warlock vs Stock Trans Am, you'd probably be right. In 78, the fastest american vehicle 0-100 mph was the Little Red Express...which was pretty similar to the warlock. I'd say this particular Warlock, with the Demon carb, aluminum intake, etc...might be pretty close to a stock TA in the quarter.
