    This is the new Seat Leon Estate and it’s part of a dying breed. Over the past two decades, people have been falling out of love with estate cars and have instead opted for SUVs as many prefer a high driving position and assume they’re safer.
    But we’re here to show you that there are plenty of reasons to buy a new estate in 2021, and the Leon makes a very good case for itself. Not only is it based on the new VW Golf Mk8, it actually betters the mighty hatchback in some areas and blends it all with a cool, sporty look.
    Prices start at £23,000 for the new Leon Estate, but you can always grab a deal on both new and used Seats by heading over to YesAuto.com.

    Hi everyone! Cam here. Estate cars are a dying breed, but there are plenty of reasons to pick one up in 2021. What do you think? Would you rather have an estate or an SUV? Or just a regular hatch? Let me know!

    Great review as always! Deserves more views. I was tempted with the Leon, but I ended up buying an SUV... mainly because I was sick of being blinded at night by LED highlights.

      Thanks Rob! Much appreciated. And good bit of insight on choosing an SUV over an estate. Really good point. Do love a good estate, though... - Cam

    I have a 2018 Leon ST FR 200. Due a car swap soon and I'm that impressed with my Leon, I'm gonna go for the Leon ST xc lux I think. The 1.5h model.

    Just purchased the Leon 1.5 Etsi 150 dsg estate. Went for excellence lux - it’s literally superb, everything you need for the family holidays but also luxurious enough and comes with all the toys you could ever need.

    Nice review... I am looking for estate cars. Skoda scala/ Seat Leon estate/ Peugeot 308 sw.
    Looking for automatic transmission with front & rear parking sensors, parking cameras.
    Which is the best??

    Great review. I did not think that the FR model had Adaptive Cruise Control though? If you look at the specs for the different trims, seems only the Xcellence Lux trim has it? I was looking to buy an FR Sports Leon Estate version but may get a similarly specced Golf Estate instead only because the Golf has ACC

      @@mc1703 I still haven’t bought a car yet, have got side tracked with other stuff.
      I did try the Golf, Seat and Octavia Estates back about 6-7 weeks ago.
      Wasn’t much if anything between them in terms of driving but it’s difficult to tell on a test drive. I think it’ll probably be a Golf or Seat but will try them again and then decide.

    Drove the Sportstourer lately and found it beautiful, but quite loud...especially over 140 km/h. Not particularly great, just OK...would need the acoustic windshield and side windows which you can find in higher trim levels of the Octavia.

    • @tomwatthammar3392
      @tomwatthammar3392 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you drive often over 140km/h you belong to the 1% of people doing so. Hence you are not the target for a family estate. From a safety point of view its not to smart either..You should probably look at a Audi S5 or something ;-)

      @ronpower7790 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tomwatthammar3392 if you would know me, you would know, that I'm totally target group for a family estate and drive these exclusive for years...but this makes no difference that the leon isn't a quite car and has , especially with DCC, a rather noisy suspension.

    Been driving the 71 Plate Seat Leon FR estate for just over a year. Automatic 7 speed box.
    To be blunt it's not a great car. Ok, the handling is pretty decent.
    The car seems to pull an emergency stop when it feels like it. The crash symbol and alarm seems to come on when i am nowhere near hitting any other vehicle. The infotainment system is full of gliches and slow and to be honest the good old fashioned way (turning knobs/dials) of turning on cooler and heating is far simpler and safer than having to go into the screen to fiddle with settings. Try finding the temperature settings bars below the screen when its night time. None of it is lit up. It is a very poor design.
    The Seats are uncomfortable. Within an hour of driving long distance my arse is numb and aching and the tops of my legs ache.
    The Boot is deep but the width is poor. My 2012 Mazda 6 estate boot was far more impressive and bigger. My Mazda felt like a proper estate and to be honest it was an all round better driving experience.
    The high beam setting for night driving on the Seat is awful. It may as well not exist. It barely raises at all.
    The acceleration feels sluggish and there is not much difference when setting the S (Sports) mode from normal D mode.
    Road noise is pretty bad too especially on motorways. Noise insulation poor.
    We have got the Seat for another two years. We have it on mobility for our severely disabled son. We so wish we hadn't gone with the Seat but it was showing the best deal and for the spec it did seem the best option.
    Looking forward to the day we give the car back.

    I brought mine a year ago with only 480 miles on it and in the first week it's had issues, every message the car has I've had it at least once. Drivers seat retracting on it own over night, tailgate boot struts have failed. Don't expect anything with a new car. Seat won't accept a reject of the vehicle

    My daughter had a Leon 1.0 FR courtesy car for a couple of days when her Arona was in for warranty work and service. She hated the Leon compared to her Arona, it was quite noisy and bumpy despite only having 2500 miles on the clock. The big screen with everything on it like the reviewer states is far too complicated and what happens years down the line when the screen goes blank and as for the electronic handbrake…….the battery dies and you can’t release the handbrake, isn’t progress great!

      True. I'm looking at this one because I'm pretty sure I need an estate + I care about the outside appearance a little bit, which takes Octavia off the table. Hideous cars, Škodas.
