Couldn't wait for the film to end. Bored to tears.

Red Letter Media summed up Jordan Peele’s ‘trilogy’ really well for me - Get Up was the crowd pleaser that is conceptually and structurally sound, Us was more abstract with it’s thick, creepy atmosphere and tone that draws you but logically it falls apart and makes the least amount of sense.
Nope on the other hand is easier to grasp and makes more sense than Us but you could argue it’s not as interesting as Us because it lacks those more iconic creepy scenes.
However, from a sound design perspective, Nope is easily the best out of all three movies and the soundtrack was great as expected (not as memorable as the I’ve Got 5 On It remix though).
I felt like Nope shared familiarities with Ad Astra approach to being ‘The Anti Sci Fi’ - in fact, one impactful scene is ripped straight from Ad Astra.

That's really a crap accusation to make that "there are plot holes big enough to driver a lorry through" without giving a single example. That's unprofessional, irresponsible reviewing. What plot holes?

He's a radio host... he's not supposed to spoil and pick apart movies he's reviewing he's supposed to make a recommendation or not and explain why without ruining the movie for his listeners. Stop being so emotional. Use your brain.

He was probably wondering how an organic creature of that size can just 'hover' in the sky for months (years?) , why it only ate horses for a few months, why it suddenly became ravenous for anything and everyone, why the place wasn't crawling with police, why no one spotted this enormous trilby coming down to eat Jupe's horses (he probably did it at night when it was nice and quiet haha). To be honest I just went with it, but yeah, mammoth plot holes...

I'm not saying their replacement for holidays should try to be funny like them but the two who currently step in are just awful. I get better info on the movie from user reviews on Imdb

Fully agree with Kermode. Thought it had a lot of interesting ideas being thrown around with some great performances, but overall it just felt incomplete. Kinda smells like studio meddling to me, I heard the original cut was like 3 hours long?

There seems to be a serious lack of police in this film.

in general I don't really ever bother with a female pov
the other replacement was a man, so I thought ok at least that should be objective unfortunately he's a snooze fest with no particular opinion

@@CL-pb3gf How? The motorcyclist fell off his bike due to the electrical outage. They even gave play-by-play exposition as it happened. That's how he went flying off the bike. His helmet has an eye hole on the visor.

Nope is good, really good, and well worth seeing. However, it's very meta, with a lot of subtext, and needs to be seen twice to be truly appreciated.

Wow. How wrong can a critic be? It turns out this wrong. If Kermode didn't find it the slow buildup to the eventual horror of the skies, the magnificently horrifying sound off horses neighing and coming from seemingly everywhere, the humoungously agoraphobic surroundings nerve wracking as hell, then I think he must have been watching a different movie. Incidentally, that scene occurs right at the very beginning of the film, so we *are* hooked from the beggining. Honestly one of the most breathtaking and nerve wracking experiences I've ever seen, the sheer deluge of audio and visual stimuli was quite overpowering, and crucially, in much the same way Jaws made you stare fixatedly at the sea in search of a fin, this films makes you start obsessively at the sky. I honestly couldn't look at clouds the same way after I left the theater, which to me was sheer proof thar it had succeeded in its Jaws-esque goal.
    Preposterously moronic review.

Slow is right, nothing happens in the first hour. Should have made a film about Gordy, best part but tagged onto the UFO story making it even longer. War of the Worlds had similar interaction with humans (trying to avoid spoilers). Need subtitles for the annoying sister and the gravelly voiced photographer. Plot holes too e.g. the motorcyclist in the shiny helmet (no eye contact). They’re broke but spend thousands on cameras. Really boring film.
