Samsung Galaxy S23 FE: Still worth it?

- Even though I like the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE and think it's a good phone, it doesn't really make sense in the Samsung lineup right now, and certainly not for $600. Unless you're getting a carrier deal or some massive discount, it's worth it to look at other excellent options for less!

I like the phone a lot but it's expensive for what it is!
Exynos chip is nasty bugger 😢
in canada its $670 to $800 for the s23fe on amazon... for the thinkphone on amazon in canada is over 1.2k ouch A54 on amazon is $450 the price stayed the same as that is what i paid for mines.. great device i like the A54 :)
@@CRYPTiCEXiLE exynos chip bugg3r in that phone
The A55 isn't being sold in the US
i was wondering is it true that your battery gets better overtime? i just got mine and its kinda disappointing for now but i was told after it learns usage patterns and a 2-3 weeks period it could get better , is that true?
i use the exynos version
congrats on the baby btw
Thank you, I enjoyed this video.
I have a S20 FE. The dongle seems to be a solution more complicated than the 3.5mm jack as is more difficult to wipe the lint I have the galaxy buds pro but the design is faulty, my ears cannot use it for much as they build pressure up.
Congrats on your daughter ❤
Thanks!
dude you're right about the headphone jack and microSD card slot would of made that device great... one thing i love about my A54 is the microSD slot and its funny cause the lower price u pay for a samsung hte better the device seems to be.. i dont think the fastest processor the device works fine for me for whatever i use it for 6 gb of memory is fine for me.... what is more impoirating to me is the SD card slot i put a 250gb card slot and jam it with music man.... i have so much music on that bad boy i play music all day at work i work over nights so i can blast it away all nice with that lower power processor might not be the snappy one but man battery life of that 5000 mAH battery on that device is freaking good man i never get it below 50% after a full 8 and half hour shift... its amazing device ... if anything if samsung continued to keep the microSD card slots in teh mid ranger device like the A devices i will continued buying them.. im gonna skip the A55 i dont see its worth the upgrad from the A54 ... i will wait to see what they do with the A56 next year.
I'm looking at this and a54 for the same price... thinking this is more durable. Thoughts?
At this point, for the same price, S23 FE.
Congrats on the newborn!
Thank you!
I couldn't agree more with you. I brought this phone in January for 320$from metro pcs. the lack of expandable memory really hurts as this Was the first phone I ever had that doesn't have it.
for mobile gamers and emulation gamers, 128 gigs ain't even close to being enough. I like the camera and I will say the processor is very strong. but the battery life and overheating is so annoying.
that aside I genuinely don't understand why samsung doesn't believe in expandable memory and headphone Jack's anymore. they have the audacity to charge thousands of dollars for a phone but can't even throw in a case, a charger brick, a charger cable and a headphone jack when so many other phone brands one like one plus gives you those features for much less. I'll probably stick with this phone for a While but in the future I can't see myself buying another Samsung phone anymore
I need some advice! OnePlus 12R or pixel 7 pro?
Which is more important to you cameras or battery life are you a gamer if it's all about the camera and the software go with Google other than that I would tell you to go to the 12r I have the pixel 7pro it's a beautiful experience but it can get a little warm at times yet it's never slowed down it's super smooth and fluent Google magic 🪄 Good luck on whichever.
@@katinasoutherland7693 it's a tough one. Main selling points on the 12R are performing, battery and to a certain extent software. Pixel would just be for the camera. I have a feeling pixels are gonna get worse and worse.
1+ 12R
Enjoying my A54 and my ThinkPhone!
Usa is getting a35 not a55. I doubt well even see a s24 fe this year 😢
At the price its at, thinkphone is all i can say I'm on A14 and march security patch, I have said this on a few comments but I am using this phone more than my iphone 14 pro max , just too good for the price cameras are the weak point but still passable.
I just ordered the cream colored one for Tmobile on Samsung's website this morning for $427 + tax. Each color was a different price. I hope I like it. Not my first choice but it is in my price range. I am kinda stuck in this ecosystem or I would get the 12R or the Thinkphone with the better processor.
For that money though, it's a great device. I can't complain for $400 and change.
It's great in every way but the battery
Sadly, the A55 is not coming to the US. And you can see why: Samsung doesn't have a strategy w/ the S23 FE, so decides instead to artificially restrict consumer choice 👎🏻. '23 was such a strong year for the mid-rangers in the US, but '24 is looking to undo it and then some! Google & Samsung have completely dropped the ball. Maybe Motorola can gain some ground, as the Thinkphone is by far the best option in this space right now!
P.S. I think this all has to do with inflation in the US, which is devastating to sales in this class of devices.
Uhhh, I don't know about not. Did they say not for sure? Because they did the same thing last year. A54 came out first in other regions, then a month later or so we got it.
A Samsung US representative confirmed to CNET that, "We [Samsung] will not be carrying the Galaxy A55 5G at this time." So, not anytime soon, which is different than last year. Let's hope Samsung does an about-face 😔.
Mentioned this on the last video. I left a comment. But no response anyway, I agree with your comment, though it might come in the future. Since they said in their statement that it wont ever come to the us we do tye a35 instead.
I agree with you, Samsung should have released this phone with a Micro SD Card Slot and a Headphone jack! Well at least you have Wi-Fi hard drives that caon somewhat be a local solution for storage, hope I didn't jinx that and that Samsung will remove the Wi-Fi ability from their phones now. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Samsung's phones are starting to look all the same and bland. Also, these companies are becoming scammers themselves scamming consumers. It's sad that in this day and age, they don't think of the consumer who wants to keep their data local and thinking that Everything has to be on the cloud according to them.
I just don’t get Samsung’s strategy lately. The S23 FE is a decent enough phone but as with all their phones, way overpriced for what it is. And then on top of that, they have now had an official Samsung rep tell us the A55 won’t be released in the US, at least not in line with last year’s release that the other A50 series phones have had. As much as I wish Samsung would use better snapdragon mid range chips in their A50 series, the A55 looks like a really nice, solid phone. The A55 would be much better than the S23 FE from a value standpoint and I’d guess performance wouldn’t be as far apart as you’d think or expect. I also don’t get the shockingly low trade in values that Samsung offers on phones. Any time I’ve contemplated trading for a newer galaxy phones, they offer very little on trade ins. I just don’t get their process at all.
This or the A55? Which is a better deal?
A55
The A55 won't be sold in the US probably to not compete against the s23 FE
Got the 256gb version with 100 pound cash back, galaxy buds and 12 minths disney plus. Cant complain
The s24 regular has 8 gigs of Ram and has AI
I got this same phone last week for $349 on a carrier deal I love it but the battery can be better
Agreed!
congrats on the new daughter!
Thanks!
Yes, congrats on the new model! 🙂
I BOUGHT S 23 FE IN DENMARK WITH 256 GB
AT THIS PRICE.... 543 $...I' M HAPPY ABOUT IT
is it worth it??
whats pro cons u found according to you??
and how many hours you use it in a day
Great
600$? What??? Where on earth did you get scammed from?😂 at my service (Metro) Any new customer can get it new customer deal for just 100$ and that includes first month bill paid too, existing customers can up & get it for 50$. But full price on there it says 400$. I dont even really recall ever seeing it for a whole 600$ either, yeah that definitely wouldnt be worth it really when you could just get a refurbished s22 Ultra or s23 plus for that price or cheaper.
Sure, carrier deals are always great, but the phone retails for $600 right now through Samsung.
@StevealiciousTech Oh well yeah, I thought most people already knew to never go for Samsungs or Iphones directly thru their website because that's the most expensive price you'll see them for and worse, they pretty much never go down on that price even like now almost half a year later, it doesn't take much time at all after release to find those phones even brand new for wayyy lower price at tons of other places. Obviously, just have to be smart about looking.
The bezeks are the biggest turn of for me, looks absolutely cheap from the front.
ill never buy a phone with 128gb rom. i only got 7gb romleft on my note20u and thats after uninstalling less used apps and moved all moveable apps data to sd. pictures, videos, music, and documents are all in sd. 128gb is just too small for me even 256gb. 256gb rom with sd card would be the sweet spot
I have the exynos version and its fantastic. Cameras are not just ok they're brilliant . My mate has a s23 ultra and my wife had the s24pkus we've gone out taking shots and they're so similar you wouldnt tell difference unless it was past 5x zoom . I get 6 to 8 hours screen on time
S23FE and A54 i say the A54 is worth it... i'm happy with A54 and its a decent phone for a normal phone user lol im not a power user i use it for mobile stuff at work and browsing.. discord and reading the bible i mean .... im not a power user i use redidit on it and gmail and normal tasking u know.. A54 is lovely device :)
Strangely enough, I don't know anyone in my entourage who paid more than $450 for this S23 FE.
exynos is good for budget phones but bad for flagship phones paying for the same price for an inferior product is insulting
Samsung is never bringing SD cards back. SD cards were way slower and no headphone jack because no one uses wired headphones anymore. I'm never buying it because it has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 because that overheats so much. Less powerful processor
But they do bring it to their A series devices. The A54 has a microsd card slot, so they still make them for sure. And plenty of people use wired headphones or aux ports on older vehicles.
So I've heard people praise the S20 FE a lot, but S21 and S23 FE get tons of complaints. I wonder what the S20 FE did better that the others are complete shite.
I think it was the concept of the first one. They took the top of the line specs from the big boy series and just repackaged it to save money six months later. But the power was the same.
@@StevealiciousTech and had a sd card slot
I scooped one up for cheap. I am in an Exynos market so mine has the Exynos 2200 and I am quite happy. It can emulate Switch with Suyu quite well.
Dex mode is the reason to pick this up over the A ssries and Hancom Docs/Office is free for Galaxy users. It becomes a productivity device. All Galaxy devices support read/write of exfat and NTFS drives and support wired ethernet.
The S23 Yuck
So last year…
