@darksyde3000 we were not shielddropping or asdi'ng down (especially out of walk) in 2013. just those two things are massive defensive changes in the past few years shielddropping literally changed how we viewed melee. being stuck on a platform used to be bad, now sheik lives on platforms and marth/fox get such good openings descending from or attacking into plats buffering inputs was rare ccing was much rarer and not nearly as utilized

Everyone is laughing, having a good time, and joking around with eachother all the time! All while not losing the ability to flip a switch and play to win for tournament. Honestly such an amazing example for newer or lower level players. Couldn't be happier with the melee scene right now

Modern meta vs current meta is in most cases largely an illusion. Almost everything that was peak in 2013 is still super effective now.
