@@sticlavoda5632it’s time to give up on that dream man, sorry to say. I love PP too. But after ten years, he’s a lot older now, the competition is extremely fierce. If he couldn’t figure out the health issues for ten years, what’s gonna change? We all have anxiety and depression. Most of us have physical health problems too, that’s what being an adult human is like. I’m in pain 24/7 and have been for a decade as well. But at a certain point I stopped using it as an excuse and just got the fuck on with my life, gritting my teeth and getting through it. Either he’s going to do it or he’s not, waiting around for his health to magically change is only hurting him. He needs to let go of the “I’m damaged” shit and just live his life if he wants to be happy. And I’m saying that in regards to life, not playing melee. I don’t even think he should try to compete. Lots of us have serious health issues, we can’t let it stop us from living life. Constantly telling yourself “I can’t because of my disease” or “why am I cursed, I’ll never have a normal life” is just training your subconscious to believe that you can’t do it.
How does the comment section act like PPMD owes them anything lol If PPMD wanted to play Hbox he could probably message him anytime and play together, and he could probably even set it up being off stream if he wanted. Obviously he doesn't want to play Hbox right now, whether he has mental or physical health problems doesn't even matter, just let PPMD make his own decisions
I love that the game is so expressive, that they can recognize each other just by how they play. Out of all the Falcos on Slippi, hbox knew this one was PP.
bruh you kinda acting parasocial with this dude you don’t know and who doesn’t know you. He’s not asking a lot by not saying anything ab his thought process.
@l3ftie578 that's almost a decade ago brother. Let that sink in. How much better are players since then. And how much better is Hbox since then. Trust me there are not many people who would even pick Falco against hbox let alone beat him on dreamland with in 2024. The fact that PPs overall skillset has apparently kept up after all this time is impressive.
I really respect PPMD's discipline with Melee, it's really hard to say "How I interact with this game isn't good for me and what is sustainable for me" and to make change on that. His decision is one that is very personal and unique to him, he clearly loves the game overall, but how he engaged with it needed to change for him, and to not only recognize that but also actually implement it is admirable. He is always exposed to top play in Melee, with analysis vids, running into top players online, watching tournaments, etc. he is always there just like before. And despite the highs competing brought him in the past when he played at his top level, and the temptation of going back to competing "just for fun" or "one last tournament" being always present by well-intentioned fans, PPMD always respectfully declines and holds true to his decision that the way he interacted with Melee before is not how he wants to do it now. It's easy to stop when you hate something, it's easy to stop when you hate something AND isn't healthy for you, but it's damn hard to stop when you love something and it isn't healthy, because that's addiction. Mad respect to PPMD for not only his incredible play and tenure with Melee, but also to recognize when it wasn't right anymore and to shift into a way to engage with Melee that is better for him overall.
Hbox 1 and doned everyone for years lmao theres literally a meme of him never even playing frieindlies. Idk wtf hes on about, hes just tasting his own medicine
Without the crowds and announcers.. if you unfocus your vision and zone out just right.. it looks and sounds like a casual match. Dreamlike childhood memory vibes.
Impressed Hbox figured out it was pp, the inverse isn't near as hard to figure out since it's an elite green headband puff with a very distinct playstyle, like there's no one it could be BESIDES Hbox. Meanwhile, a more common main like Falco or Fox is MUCH harder to ID (unless it's M2K), but even then, pp's signature neutral game was enough of a tell for Hbox to notice.
Hate when this happens in any sort of game, I start getting a little bored and play casually laying back until I realize my opponent is pretty good so I start trying more but it’s already too late as I’m in a deficit and then they just one and done. Pretty annoying.
Geez PP’s chat seemed so mean to HBox. PP was just like talking about how good his DI was, playing his best, and chat was like “call him and scream and leave” “I’ve never been so excited to see you win”. Like geez calm down
People in this comment section and overall the melee community proving that its hilariously immature. What does PPMD owe to Hungrybox? Nothing. What does PPMD owe to anyone? Nothing. So is he lame for leaving after one game? If you're answer is yes, then you are highly judgmental and do not contribute to any positive discourse in the gaming community. ITS NOT EVEN RANKED, ITS UNRAKED FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.
Hey man, I saw this comment after I responded to your other one. There is definitely quite a bit of immaturity in the community and that's something that I try my best to encourage others to work on. I feel the twitter atmosphere has played a big role in keeping people from having normal mature conversations, but that isn't an excuse. As a community we have plenty of room to improve and we're plenty capable of it. This isn't a dig or an insult, just trying to be constructive. I don't think that the way you phrased this comment isn't going to do much good as far as getting people to be more mature. I understand where you're coming from though and I agree with the sentiment, it's pretty infuriating seeing people be childish and combative. There are plenty of people like that and it really makes communicating with them difficult. But man it's almost cathartic digging deeper with some of these people to see how they came to believe some wild things or why they're trying to fight. Once you break down those barriers, oftentimes it's a misunderstanding, miscommunication, unsubstantiated rumors they heard, or simply something else in their life had them angry already. Edit: to clarify, I'm no saint. I've snapped back at people and I constantly want to tell people they have horrendously sh1t takes all the time. But man do I regret that urge. All that said, similarly to PPMD there is no obligation here. I'm not telling you to be everyone's therapist or trying to pressure you into having frustrating conversations. I'm kinda just lightly encouraging you to at least not add to the anger soup that people are drinking. Either way man, I'm with you on hoping it gets better. I just want to watch people play a game where Mario fights Pikachu

I don't see why Mew2King would want to return and how Armada could make up for his enormously long absence from the game as a whole. PPMD on the other hand is very active in the community and desiring, at least somewhat, to return. Now, of course it is incredibly stressful and he doesn't want to devote himself to the game anymore to the level that he did before, but let's not get too cynical.
How does the comment section act like PPMD owes them anything lol
If PPMD wanted to play Hbox he could probably message him anytime and play together, and he could probably even set it up being off stream if he wanted. Obviously he doesn't want to play Hbox right now, whether he has mental or physical health problems doesn't even matter, just let PPMD make his own decisions
It’s also puff. Takes a lot more effort to do. Maybe he just wanted to chill
I love that the game is so expressive, that they can recognize each other just by how they play.
Out of all the Falcos on Slippi, hbox knew this one was PP.
PPMD looks like Micheal Bolton from Office Space now
First time encountering PPMD, seemslike a cool dude. A shame he doesn't compete anymore.
NOOOO WHY DID HE LEAVE
I fucking love they still remember how the other plays
@5:46 water bottle opening tech goes hard
First time seeing ppmd, and dang he is a god, even in retirement
Pp in his own head as always, just play a little and enjoy the game
bruh you kinda acting parasocial with this dude you don’t know and who doesn’t know you. He’s not asking a lot by not saying anything ab his thought process.
@@Caleb-zl4wkhe's not gunna fuck you bro
Just over 22 years of this game and look at it still flying
Imagine PP comes back someday to commentate a major like Armada does. Wait, imagine a commentary crew that's literally just PP and Armada
At Genesis 7 PPMD did commentate a game with Chillin but originally it was supposed to be a cast with PP and Armada , but Armada lost his passport
pp’s falco is so diff it’s so sick
pp too ego scared he left cmonnn

Bro, they can sense each other through their moves!?
This is why melee is goated
I immediately thought this was like 8 months or 8 years ago but no… it was 8 dayssssssss ago 😅
Just wanna say that Hbox losing to ANY Falco on dreamland is crazy especially when bro was killing him off the top and sides
PP’s falco was taking sets off of Hbox’s puff even back in 2015
@l3ftie578 that's almost a decade ago brother. Let that sink in. How much better are players since then. And how much better is Hbox since then. Trust me there are not many people who would even pick Falco against hbox let alone beat him on dreamland with in 2024. The fact that PPs overall skillset has apparently kept up after all this time is impressive.
there r theories he is thinking about coming back right? if his mental is right he is a monster@@Peoples_Champ95
If u think hbox was trying the whole time youre fried
if you only start trying vs. someone when you think you will lose / are losing you deserve to lose@@Polycubism
You don’t truly know someone… until you fight them
Was cool to see live.
Glad to see this live from PPs perspective. very fun
dude pp is moving like no other falco, holy fucking shit.
Nostalgic moment, dude.
It's wild How HBox can just be calmly explaining something and in the background he's just giving the business to someone
A return of PPMD to a tourney would be unbelievable
If you think it's the same thing then you're delusional.
Watching PPs Falco is so satisfying.
I wish PP never got sick. He was so amazing.
“Oh I wasn’t locked in”
Always good to see some PP-bird action :D
melee never dies god I love this game and its community
These reads are god-tier.
I think it’s cool that they can remember each other’s playstyles. Once a god always a god I guess.
The unexpected rematch of all time.
Pp always gets terrified on unranked with top players its so silly
Only play top players one game.
Back to beating scrubs lol
Feel like Hbox read chat and saw someone say it’s PP then say I think it’s PP and then HBOX was real upset he left lol
i'm going to cry
hungry box looks like jiggly puff irl
PP was getting cold pains from the warm up round xD
Without the crowds and announcers.. if you unfocus your vision and zone out just right.. it looks and sounds like a casual match. Dreamlike childhood memory vibes.
the forward air is so vintage ppmd
Everybody gangsta untill hbox starts rushing with puff
lol it’s crazy they know who they’re playing just by how they fight although not many jigglypuffs playing
@ 01:00 hbox: talking about Panama
Pp: cooming
Dang, PP looks ten years younger than he did 10 years ago lol
He did not wanna lock in 😂
Impressed Hbox figured out it was pp, the inverse isn't near as hard to figure out since it's an elite green headband puff with a very distinct playstyle, like there's no one it could be BESIDES Hbox. Meanwhile, a more common main like Falco or Fox is MUCH harder to ID (unless it's M2K), but even then, pp's signature neutral game was enough of a tell for Hbox to notice.
Knowing that ppmd and hbox both play unranked is why I'm never going into matches blind 🤣
Nothing to see here only two dudes in the moment

fr, PP's ego that no one should care about got to him (no hate though)
@@C-Viteyou are hating tho. he has his reasons.
Like geez calm down
i swear that was such a good match
4:55 real talk
Falco vs Jiggs must be a nightmare
It’s not as bad as people think, if the skill level is equal
People don't even think it's bad? Lol it's pretty even
It's not that it's that bad, it's just that fox is that much easier
I think HBOX and PP both agree falco wins slightly
Honestly 90% of this comment section is going 0-2
If you wanna be so sensitive I will purposefully go out of my way to bully you every day for the rest of my life
It's not that he owes anyone anything. It's that he will never return to competitive and this is sad to see.
Comme au bon vieux temps
oh god hbox chat scares me
Thanks for uploading
PP leaving after one game is so PP.
They both knew wow
PPMD will always be my favorite player, I hope one day he returns and puts falco back at nr2 on the tierlist
even if that was not a competitive match, PP's still able to win against a top player after leaving the competion for 8 years ! That just show how strong this guy is !
