This was great, thanks, I been tryin to find out about "bearded dragon not eating or pooping as often" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Benophia Unconventional Bulldozer - (search on google ) ? Maybe this was mentioned and I just didn't hear it in the video, but I have to imagine even if the shed's not ready to come off, brushing all over with a toothbrush might feel really good!
Yesterday I got my juvenile beardie in the mail and gave her a bath, and I noticed right away her nostrils were plugged, and I am so glad I noticed because I was able to clear her nostrils right away and she is much happier now.

Wild Will, mine just started her shed and I noticed she hasn't been eating as much. She's still eating but it's noticeably less. I went online and asked around and a lot of people have experienced the same thing. So if yours does lose some appetite during a shed it seems to be fairly normal.
Can someone help me out my Beardie just pasted the stage where her scales were very clear and white and she hasn’t had any she’d come off and she is starting to turn back to her regular color. What does this mean.
My bearded dragon is a juvenile who is about 3 or 4 months old, he was shedding in his face yesterday and would rub his face against the couch when we got him out, it’s absolutely adorable but i rly feel bad for him, it must be so itchy!
I have a baby bearded dragon and is about 3 weeks old or a little older it's currently shedding from it's body and has less of an appetite only eats about 2-4bugs a day is that normal?
I just got mine last weekend. She has a bone disease and needs extra care for calcium and such. She’s pretty active but doesn’t eat much right now and glass surfs a lot. So I’ve been having anxiety wondering if I was doing something wrong but noticed yesterday her face was starting to shed. And after researching I know now this is natural. I’m giving her a bath once I finish my work week.
Hi, thanks for the video. Our beardie is about 2 months old. Have owned him for about 3 weeks and he shedded his entire back. He has not had anything to eat for about 1 week now. Is this normal during a shed? We noticed his tail and hind legs are shedding too. He looks thinner and is lethargic and not wanting bask. Is this normal?
Yes they are pretty sharp at the tip! But they are also flexible, so you can push them kinda flat. I've only been accidentally stabbed once by an overly excited Marmaduke who just happened to touch me at the right angle, it only drew a tiny drop of blood 🥲😝
So I'm mixed with the comments and vid so if the skin is like she said stuck but is super easy to take off should you take it off or not I want to know because soon I will own one of these
Normally you want to help by giving a good soak and providing plenty of stuff to scratch on. Many keepers agree that the only time the shed should be removed by hand is if it is actual stuck shed (meaning it isn't coming off normally) or in rare cases if it will cause some problems. An example of this is if an eyelid shed detaches wrong and ends up flopping around and getting in your dragons eye, you don't want the shed itself to damage the eye and the dragon could easily hurt itself trying to get it out too. There are times when handling that shed might just come off due to the smallest touch though and thats normally ok
You could have taken his toe shed off as well. If you have to pick and dig to get it off it WILL hurt him/her. But if it looks like that and it’s already cracking like that would have no difficulty
Mines tend to eat less. Well it’s a baby barley a month old. Last week he shedded profusely I thought he was done. He’s been moody and skittish and now his chin has began to shed. Poor little guy. Atleast I think it’s a guy.
Ya, mine is shedding and became really ornery, like he's puffed his beard at me, he's opened his mouth at me and even flattened out and leaned his body towards me, he's about 1.5 months old and I've had him for about a week, whole tail shedding and parts of face and one side of his back, I was happy to find out it's normal behavior during shedding, and he's still eating so I'm happy lol
I know this is an old comment but you can tell it's about to shed cuz the areas that are going to shed off often lose there color and almost look like a patch that doesn't match the rest of their skin
Take him to the vet just to be safe. You don't want to miss something that you could have prevented, and even if it turns out to be nothing you have peace of mind :-)
Im curious what u mean they tend to have fat storage right on top of head before and behind there spikes but usually it will look pretty uniform to itself
NEVER pull off the shed, it could hurt them regardless of whether or not the skin "looks ready". The skin will come off on it's own. If it doesn't come off GO TO A VET, they are professionals who can safely help out your beardie.

Why would you pull his shed?!
Loose skin can be pulled. As long as your gentle and patient.

They are peeling off the loss shed that does not hurt the dragon unless it’s attached.
This has to be the prettiest looking bearded dragon I’ve seen💯

Not in my experience. He seems as hungry as usual!

My juvenile beardie has some on his tail that he cant scrape off should i bathe him and help him a little
Yes, a bath would be a good idea! You can gently rub the stuck skin with your fingers.

@@MeetMarmaduke awesome this put my worries to rest, thank you so much 🙂
@@MeetMarmaduke Mine never has drawn blood, but his spikes get all tight and sharp when he gets picked up. And then he's normal when on stable ground.

It is fine unless it is not ready

You could have taken his toe shed off as well. If you have to pick and dig to get it off it WILL hurt him/her. But if it looks like that and it’s already cracking like that would have no difficulty
Yes, it was removed.
You’re not meant to pull off there old skin while shedding, it can cause skin damage and it hurts them.
Well if it’s about to come off rub your fingers on the place it is shedding no peeling that can hurt it
What color morph is your beardie? It’s an awesome color!
He's a tangerine phase, and his morph is hypomelanistic :)
Picking off the skin is like picking at a scab, it hurts dont do it!!
When it’s ready like she said when it is crumbling or just about to fall off you can help it
@@aidoesthat Yeah, but if there is any resistance, stop before you hurt your lizard. With the exception of geckos, lizards tend to shed in patches.
