Very nice review Nigel and as always I so enjoy your humor 😀 Very nice watch indeed. I agree with you and wish AVI-8 had used a hacking movement and left the dial cleaner without the date. AVI-8 has a number of very nice watches in their website, I like a few with my favorite being the P-51. That said, this piece is great in my opinion and makes of a very good military pilot inspired watch at a very good value proposition. Thank you again my friend. Cheers
Great review as always SWG! Funnily enough I was just looking at an older Avi-8 chronograph the other day which was on sale on the TK Max website of all places! It was a whopping 64% off but it was just a tad too big for me I think. If you like your history and if you’ve got the wrist for it I think Avi-8 could be a fun brand to explore 👍
As I am unlikely to be going on a bombing mission anytime soon, I'm fine without hacking. I want a fun EDW that keeps decent time. This watch does that very well, and is a real value if you take the time to find it discounted. I also really like the date, for the same reason : I want something useful for my daily wear. IOW I think this piece nails it, great looking, very useful for real daily use, and reasonable price. Thanks for a nice review. Thanks Avi-8 for another fine piece!
Entertaining as always 👍 . It's a nice looking watch, but it is odd having the Mustang on the box and using a German style watch for a Hurricane pilot 🤔
Thanks mate! I can only assume they use this box for all their models. Would probably cost too much to have individually designed outer boxe. But I get you regards the German style watch! 😄👍
I have a AVI-8 Hawker Hunter and bought it for the novelty factor. Attaching a history to a watch is neither here nor there to me. A true historical watch designing company usually integrates an actual part of a history in the actual design. For example REC and Bremont. Although let’s leave the in house movement saga at Bremont for another day, where a parts of these linked planes are in the watch design. Saying all that, AVI-8 are detailed, great fun and their leather straps are seriously good. Price point is way off considering a number of factors and in particular the movements used. I only bought mine as it was probably end of line and massively discounted. Packaging super! Would I add another? No, as I said they are more novelty to me.
The plane on the box is Martin Baker MB5. It was a late WW2 prototype that never went into production.
Good morning buddy thank you for the ww2 history lesson, And yet again another great review looking forward to the next review cheers Josh.
Hi Josh! Thanks mate - really appreciated 😀🙌
Really nice looking watch and big. Thank you.
Thanks Jer! 😀👍

Very kind of you to say Rafael! Thanks mate. And the P-51 range looks amazing 😀👍

Thanks Gareth! 64% off sounds like a bit of a bargain, but yeah - you've got to like big watches! 👍

Thank you my friend! And yes - it is such an all round daily wear. Have you got this particular one? Or are you thinking of getting one?
Loved the review. Cool piece. I love the Type B fliegers. But the date really shouldn't be there and hacking is a must as you said.
Thanks Omer! 😀🙌
Some of the originals B-Uhr watches (from the 5 original brands) had not hacking movement.
Thanks for that information Daniel 😀👍
I love the watch , but I find it ironic/incongruous that they chose a replica of a Luftwaffe watch to honour an RAF hero .
Nice watch!

Cheers John 😄👍✊👊
Hallo sir
P-51 mustang
Thank you Thomas 😀👍👍👍
Very nice review. The aircraft on the box looks like a Martin-Baker MB-5 to me: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin-Baker_MB_5
thank you Jens. And thanks for the info! A very interesting plane, that never went into production!
Nice watch and size a real man watch 😁
