This is not a sensible comparison, the 2024 Mini Cooper EV should be compared with the latest Abarth 500e, not the Fiat 500e. The Fiat 500e is a much cheaper car than the new electric Mini, prices from 29,000€ list price compared with over 35,000€ list price for the Mini (and Minis are bad for expensive extras). The Abarth 500e is aimed at the same "small electric hot hatch" buyer as the Mini and is in the same price and performance range.
I have personal experience of this. I was a hot hatch driver but I wanted to go electric and the Abarth 500e, which would have been my first choice, was above my budget (EVs are still.more expensive than equivalent ICE cars). For the price the Fiat 500e is an excellent car and like all electric cars in real world situations is much faster than you would imagine from the performance figures because that performance is available without driving like a demon (0-100 kph acceleration figures mean that the ICE car is still in 3rd gear at 100 kph).

For sure in the next upcoming years the full electric vehicles will be more affordable... Just wait the Chinese invasion 😁
