Are you working in a fume hood? I get the impression that Drabkin's is an extremely dangerous chemical. What precautions did you take? Merck SDS may be paranoid but I am cautious. I'm being asked to do this analysis but I'd rather work a safer accurate method like AHD-575 but the reagents are so expensive.

my haemoglobin standard provided with drabkin solution doesn't produce any brownish color even after 15minutes. I think the reagent must have deteriorated. What absorbance shall I use as standard sir( for 14.8G% haemoglobin)
