Wayfinder is a brand new MMORPG that is still in Early Access. We tried it out when it first dropped, and today I'm giving my thoughts of the game as a whole so far and whether or not it's worth your time.

Just even having a paid battlepass in early access is kind of a red flag. That should NOT have even been a priority until full release
The nice thing about these is that they aren’t wiped at the end of the season
So you can continue to grind out Season 1 BP in Season 20
And the BP has not been without its own issues, I will add.
It’s not bug free itself
The battle pass is fine because it's the main thing you pay for in the game. The company is very transparent about how their battlepasses are free of fomo since you can work on them whenever you want since they never go away.
It's a good thing for early access MMOs to show us what their monetization plan is for the full release, and I'd only grow skeptical if they did something like add Lootboxes after the official launch lol
But that won't happen since DE are pretty against that model.
I agree, and the fact that there's a two-tier season pass is another red flag. I already heard they had to scale down their game store because players had to double purchase their time silver just to make a single purchase.
The battle pass in early access are perks from the founders packs that you pay for there is no additional money required to get them however depending on which founders pack you get is what defines the kind battle pass you get access to. So it’s not really and additional purchase you have to make after getting the game. Of course you would know this if you actually went to their site and looked at the different founder’s packs instead of assuming how the game works based off the video

Would be cool to see something large scale. How D2 has 6 player activities maybe pump it up in player like 10 to 15 player raids like wow had
I think they’re walking before running. I fully expect if it pops off that the game will get higher player count activities.
On roadmap they have already mentioned they want to do Raids in the future, but first they need to squash bugs, more QoL and content as well.
Needs to be really good.

One thing I like about this game is that every character can use any weapons, even tho they have theire favorite type of weapon, you can play whatever you want
For those who haven’t played warframe for a long period of time, this game is taking the same path that it took essentially. After it’s been cooking in the pot for a bit and fixes/updates drop, it’ll be worth playing. Especially, since it’ll be a ftp title

This didn't age well
They've definitely made improvements since it was launched. The new Echo Fusion system is better and way less convoluted than it was, the queuing is non-existent, and it is fun (for whatever reason, it reminds me of Fable even though I know it's nothing like Fable). But it can be a bit confusing as to what does what (I'm not an MMO-er, so that might be standard).
However, I get that I paid for early access and what I'm looking at/playing isn't the final product. It's got potential, it just needs some rough edges taking off.
What a coincidence, I just bought the game this week, it's been fun, as someone who hasn't played a game of this type before and has been playing Destiny since 2014 🎉

8:00 This is forsure the issue Warframe has, still no end game raids to this day, the end game is mostly just kill trash mobs, and the only way to get guns and items that are upgrades is basically just Time Gated crafting, i really wish game devs would make games fun and exciting to grind and play again… Not some 2nd Job that doesn’t even feel rewarding or fulfilling to do…. i mean when are we gunna get another looter shooter MMORPG like a OSRS , Destiny or Division all combined? Im talking skills we can grind to get up and NEVER GO AWAY(progress wiping in games are annoying)and have bosses that drop specific items (just to show variety so you can be like oh i wanna farm so and so today for the so and so weapon blah blah) And The gameplay of Division and Destiny, but just added 100000x more things ontop of that, more end game systems, more ways of player power, more items and gear, like idk man us gamers are hoping for a miracle trynna wait for something like that. Im tellin ya. Lmao gunna be a llllllloooonnnngggg time before something like that exists if ever.
I’d say Warframe doesn’t feel like a chore if you just play it for the sake of playing it
Just go in, spend 2 hours grinding one thing with some music or a podcast on the 2nd monitor or your phone or whatever and go to town

@@dragonriderabens9761This is the way. It's a chill game that doesn't force you to play with fomo. It's a game that asks you to spend time on it when you want to, and if you don't... That's alright too.
It'd be nice for Warframe to receive end game raid content, but it's pretty clear to me that raid content cannot exist in this game without some MAJOR nerfs to the current damage and movement systems. Most games with raid content are strictly balanced in both movement and gameplay. But we can't have that in Warframe right now because the tenno are completely unhinged when it comes to power levels. What you should be asking for before raids is game balance that will allow for raids.

Is it worth playing right now? Absolutely not. It's got a good foundation yes, but SO MANY of the systems in the game need to be either reworked or removed entirely and it ends up bogging the game down in the long run
I will definitely be coming back to it when it drops for full access
As someone who paid for early access the moment it became available, I can say that they have definitely worked on the game...unfortunately though, I don't believe they honestly expected to have this game on PS4 (what I still play on)
Now throughout the past few month they have updated the game consistently to fix que times, bugs, disconnects, etc and have done a pretty good job of doing so. Unfortunately though an issue I've had since I've loading up the game for the 1st time months ago is that it is borderline unplayable on PS4. It is a stuttering mess, every step you take, attack you make and npc/enemy you see, will stutter the game to all hell, loading new areas on the other hand needs an epilepsy warning. Only time I haven't experienced the game in this state is when I go into a dungeon by myself where it doesn't stutter as much just every once in a while and at that point its playable, BUT I got the game to play with friends and like I mentioned before, that's when it becomes a stuttering unplayable mess.
I hoped that one of these patches would fix the issue but I log in to see if it's gotten better on a daily basis and I can say, no it has not.
Note that this is literally JUST a PS4 issue I haven't heard of anyone else on PS5 or PC mention this issue.
Just my 2 cents.

The art is almost identical to Wildstar. Gameplay also looks kinda similar. These aren't bad things though.

Skull and Co hardshell fits the device perfectly and also their grip case is super nice.
there is a cheese for the first, at the second floor is cleared and sent down to her second domain at the wall stage that comes at you just stand at the edge of each sides and it wont harm you ;)
I absolutely love this game. I've only unlocked the main 3 characters, but I have been having quite a bit of fun. The only thing that has been killing that fun for me is a boss called Talon of Pyre. It currently now has a 2 hour respawn timer which isn't too bad... Except the fact that he is the tankiest boss in the game with the highest damage and if you don't have a high level setup, not only will he oneshot you, but he has a final DPS phase that will cause him to despawn without giving drops and you STILL have to wait that 2 hours for him. No other boss has a despawn mechanic and yet the devs thought to give it to the hardest boss in the game.
And he is needed for 2 weapons. You need to farm him enough to get the 2 weapon essences and get the resource he drops for at a bare minimum of 12 times. And that is IF he drops the resource and an essence at the same time. I've had times where even when I managed to kill he, he dropped neither.

@@urazz7739 it is, he is the only boss I truly hate. Even Night's Maw, a boss that spawns in the same area (the Highlands) doesn't have that despawn mechanic and has decent drop rates.
Every other boss is a lot of fun when you are built up for it and either have a good team or are good at dodging/parrying with the daggers.
Thing is, this game is of course early access, but he use to be a 4 hour respawn with the same drop rates.
Wayfinder looks a lot like Wildstar to me.
RIP looked awesome but never got to try it
Damn spend 3000+ hours in Wildstar. This was the best MMORPG ever made imo. Running P13 dungeons all day and raiding RMT . Damn that were good times :(

as a lifelong ARPG fan you nailed it, Items being only obtainable by crafting feels like garbage. We love to feel rewarded instantly from farming. It also makes repeat farming a whole new beast because we NEVER know whats gonna drop. Its a must imo
Hey Cross! Are there any plans on trying Armored Core 6? I assumed you would try it at the very least, since you did play Anthem. Armored Core is definitely it’s own thing though and I hope you’ll experience the same if and when you do give it a shot 👌🏼

I love wayfinder, been playing as Heroic Kyros since the launch day and I’m loving it, I love the sense of adventure, the dungeons, exploration, and I get anime vibes when it comes to fighting enemies and GIANT SLIMES🔥 yeah it’s been out for a few months but I believe this game has bright future ahead

Im mainly a support/healer in any MMO ive played. Thats the only deterrent for me on playing this mmorpg. No definitive support or healer class, its just another DPS meta MMO.
I play that guy with sword and shield and it plays like a support. His attacks heal team mates and there is an immunity bubble he can cast as well

Wayfinder has really good movement and fighting. Try daggers, parry is op. You get I frames
This reminds me a little bit of Wildstar. And damn this was the best game ever made ! So I guess I need to give Wayfinder a try :)

I played the Demo, and for me personally the gameplay was not enough to make me want to purchase Early Access. However I will still give it a try when it is free to play

Im gonna be honest, a lot of these game mechanics sound super copy pasted over from warframe. The title is named after the characters you play as, finding resources to craft loot rather than finding loot, and melee hit combo increasing damage per stack. I love warframe, but im not about to pay or shill out to a new title that is pretty similar when im already so far along in WF.

Cross, I watch everything you release, from lore to build guides, Zelda to Destiny. But I simply can't trust a review that is SPONSORED by the game company you are reviewing. The monetization section was an absolute false door. You skipped the egregious point system that had everyone judging it for its greedy practices that left you short of buying anything.
This is a shame, man. Do better.

No support/healer class and WoW era cartoon graphics with pretty boring looking gameplay loop...huge pass. First Descendant beta felt pretty bland with its mechanics, but at least it had solid modern graphics.

I came here to determine if I wanted to play the game and I appreciate the video. But then I went to read feedback in comments and the number of dumb comments I read is insane.
First of all game will be free to play and is just early access but I see so many complaints about the game having a premium battle pass option even though it’s not p2w and just cosmetics. Do people not understand most of the f2p games or buy to play have battle passes and loot boxes for the purpose of having money coming in? Companies need some profit for development and earning income as it’s a job for them as well. I know many people will dislike my post but if you don’t like premium battle passes for cosmetics only then don’t buy the battle pass.
I just thought it was dumb people were saying they won’t play the game because it has premium pass or that the game is already ruined without looking at content. Again companies make more money from having loot boxes/cosmetic season passes if the game is good. Fortnite is still around because it’s all cosmetics. Apex is so popular because it’s all cosmetics. Some might say buying heroes is p2w don’t understand how toxic a real p2w model is in games. “Most” Gacha games are significantly horrible in the p2w category.
Anyways I appreciate the video and if anyone wants to comment, feel free to tell me more about the gameplay like weapon farming, guild content, PvP, etc pros and cons as I’m curious and in search of a new mmo to play. Just can’t stand people crying over cosmetic battle passes.

The first descendant is being published by a well known Korean company that tends to ditch their games. Yes, it’s really pretty, but it’s also very generic. There’s no punch feeling on the weapons, the combat is mid.
Meanwhile Wayfinder is being published by DE, who tends to cater to their community. As an example, recently they released an heirloom pack broken into three pieces. The most expensive one being 89.99 caused some controversy, mostly because of what was in the package. The community felt like it didn’t justify the price tag so DE listened and added more of the in-game currency called Platinum which is a paid currency.
On their latest Dev stream they announced a pack you can buy with platinum which will allow new players to skip most of the story and basically shortcut their way to the latest content, and once again the community didn’t like that. Right now DE is listening for feedback and coming up with ways to fix that problem. They will launch that pack regardless, but at least they’ll make adjustments based on feedback by the community.
Wayfinder is being published through DE, but made by a different studio. Regardless they’ll take notes and listen to what the devs on warframe have to say and they’ll follow up. While DE isn’t the best company around, at least they do listen to their community. Meanwhile TFD is a Korean based game that will quickly die out if their profits aren’t looking good, and all that money you throw at it will quickly vanish.
Naww.. Too many bugs in the game. If you play it the first time, there's already a bug that doesn't let your character progress, by unable to turn in/accept quests, and i kid you not, its not the only bug in the game, there's even older bugs since beta that hasn't been fixed yet. Overall, Buggy game, probably needs more work from the devs, but please, prioritize the bugs man, the features in the game are ok, it just needs more fixing.
