Wayfinder Echoes is now an immersive experience with both single-player and co-op gameplay for up to four players. With four distinct difficulty levels and traditional RPG talents, designed to enhance your strategic play without the tedious grind for new characters. Character awakening is streamlined for ease, while all weapons are obtainable as random drops, complete with various slots for customization. Armor comes with detailed stats, and you'll find thousands of cosmetics and housing items to personalize your journey. It's a REALLY fun game and I'm glad they decided not to cancel it.

I supported this game in beta and I in no way regret my decision helping air syndicate and I see this was a rough decision either give up 5 years of their life’s work or turn back to their original dream since it was DE publisher that even suggested making it a free to play. I get the logic since warframe polished the concept to a T.
I still think it was a very shitty thing to do for DE to just ditch them. especially cause they know how failing at the start and nobody believing in them feels.
@@Arthera0 This is genuinely the big takeaway. Steve was there when Warframe was looking like a failed project, and one of the first things done when he took over as CEO was rugpull Airship. It gives me a somewhat funny feeling.
@@SwampyTrollWarframe never looked like a failed product though...? At least not when they released it. It only looked like a product that would fail to Publishers and Warframe proved them all wrong.
Wayfinder DID launch and unfortunately was not a financial success due to things involving both DE and Airship (but mostly DE's servers). I can understand why they shutdown their entire publishing section because NONE of their published games ever went well and it's clear they're not a good publisher for games that aren't their own. It's unfortunate what happened to Airship and all the people working at DE's publishing and Reb addressed this on the FPS Podcast on Skillup's channel when it happened.
@thatonepenguinperson618 DE themselves have historically said part of their success came from TotalBiscuit spotlighting them. The early days were bleak, and we, as players, didn't know how much time the game had.
@@SwampyTroll Admittedly, I've been playing since open beta happened (early April 2013) and to me it seemed like the game was doing okay -> good. Warframe was financially feasible and able to support the company, according to the No Clip documentary, they just had to keep updating the game because that's what publishers said they wouldn't be able to do. TotalBiscuit was a big factor in catapulting Warframe's success, which made it more successful. His mark on Warframe and the game's industry itself will never be forgotten. However, I believe that's because he was the first big content creator to give Warframe attention and his word is highly respected. Asmongold is a MASSIVE streamer who publicly acknowledged enjoying Wayfinder but that wasn't enough to get people to play the game like it was when TotalBiscuit recommended Warframe.
It's also important to note that Warframe at the time had NO funding from other companies or a publisher and managed to survive purely by the help of its community. DE probably thought Wayfinder could do the same if they went indie which... is rough to assume considering how much more critical people are towards live service games these days.
Had they stayed a f2p mmo I would've never played it. Sincerely don't have time to have another live service so I'm super happy they took this route. Can't wait to try it on PS5 whenever that'll be 😑

Well my Play station early access is worth didly squat now.
I picked it up today and put about 2 hours into it. I liked what I played so far and looking forward to playing more. Hope the game does well and the devs keep building on the game.

I am truly loving it since they made the change. I am still learning the ins and outs but everything I have learned so far and just the game in general is amazing. They have done such a great job. Keep it up Airship Syndicate.

Always wanted to play it but did not wanted to invest so much time in another service game. Saw it yesterday on steam that it is now solo/coop and fell in love with it. The artstyle is really cool and the gameplay loop is fun (so far). I really hope that there will be some more updates or even a dlc if this get a second wind

I'm having an extremely good time with the dungeon crawling and loot grind. There's a lot of yet undiscovered weapons in late game that are sort of wonderful game changers. Also the Deepwood Holt region is MASSIVE now.
Been playing the update since the end of May and I agree on all accounts. It's definitely a better game than it was during the EA and I've been enjoying it quite a bit. I'm planning on playing it with friends soon, so I haven't gotten as far as others have just yet. This game deserves to have its tumultuous beginnings forgiven; especially when it wasn't the fault of its devs. Hope to see more and more folks realizing just how awesome Wayfinder is, and how DE and its MMO mechanics was an albatross around its neck.

Absolutely love this move. I understand that this might leave a sour taste in the mouth of founders but honestly as you've said this is the best they could've done in the situation they're in. I bought it today just to support the devs while I didn't like what I saw back when it launched. I'm way more Singleplayer focused these days and this looks like a nice palette cleanser in between major hitters like Elden ring. Thanks for this and absolutely love your accent dude! Might check it out if I'm looking to change it up at some point, but there's so many games coming out that getting into it now would be a shame and not fair.

I was out when they said no matchmaking. Though now they've said they're looking into matchmaking. I can deal with no MMO if i can still play with randoms and show off my looks/builds in group settings. If matchmaking comes I'll pick it up. Darksiders with drop in/drop out co-op sounds like a fun time to me and still scratches that multiplayer itch. Heck i consider warframe more of a drop in/ drop out co-op game more then an MMO gameplay wise.
I haven't checked this game out too much so far, but it really catches my eye. The artstyle is RIGHT up my alley, really gorgeous!! Bright, cool, comic-book feeling. Like the best mashup of Wildstar, Everquest Next and Arcane! A lot of systems seem cool, UI/UX seem cool. The combat lacks impact though, and that sucks. Idk if animations aren't really taking enough risks or leaning into the artstyle enough, or if there's other impact tricks missing, but I just can't really feel the hits. Hope they get enough cashflow to keep working on it! I'll definitely give it a go.

Enjoyed echoes very much, a solid 17-18hours of fun before it feels grindy again well worth the price tbh. looking forward to new worlds take on this.
I had played back in the alpha but with the way the game was monetize I had skip on it but with the echoes update I'm buying it for sure.
Game is way better now than when it was F2P. They can definitely add more multiplayer features down the road, if the game is successful.

I'm new to Wayfinder, will be picking it up as a single player soon. It's a strange development history, but honestly the "Borderlands" model is super interesting to me. Open world co-op is always great.
As to the controversy with the publisher, isn't DE releasing Soulframe? While the aesthetics are very different, they would have been in a position of having to support TWO games which could be described as, to some degree of accuracy, "fantasy Warframe". That makes no sense to me. Not as two competing live services.

went back and got to about 4700~ power, but i cant find sets AT ALL on mythic. dont know what else to do

what is the game loop? does it have a story to follow or is it one of those treadmill style games where you just collect gear
You have a full campaign to get through as well as an endgame with mythic bosses to push through
Full narrated story and when it ends you open up mythic hunts that you can run for better gear. Can also bump up the games difficulty after that if you want for more challenge.

Quite honestly I didn't want to get milked by another "F2P" that doesn't carry through on promises, but since this went solo/coop play now, I think I am more willing to pick it up.
Hello, I was just wondering, is it just speedfarming or you can find yourself in very difficult situation were you have to show of a bit of skill, no judgement of any type, I am just wondering if I should buy it or not as I always find myself getting tired of games were you speed farm the same dungeons in no time and difficulty
No speed farming, you can explore, take your time and just do open world or story content
ive known about this game for sometime and knowing it was a free to play MMORPG i avoided it like the plague and then seeing the publisher screw the devs over and the devs reworking it i picked it up on the 11th and am loving the game i really hope they make enough to keep supporting past 1.0 if they ever release this on switch and xbox i will glady buy the game on those systems since i do have them to show support

I did it to the end game, and it is indeed better than before... Before the game was almost an scam with all the grind and monatization systens, now it is a game... and is fun...

I liked it in EA, just needed more content. Stopped paying attention when the DE dropping it got announced. Bought the released version for my wife so we can jump back in.

gonna leave it a bit cus i got the elden ring dlc to play next week but i deffently will have to check it out. i was kinda angry to start with when they did this change from a mmo to a single player with coop game but after seeing them talk about why it happened and having chance to think about it i can honestly say id sooner have this than another lacklustre live service game that demands i spend every single day playing it.
I will check it out, but not just yet. Just like their launch, shortly after BG3, they've got the worst timing. I'm up to my eyeballs in a couple gachas while I am on vacation from Warframe until Jade Shadows next week. Then there's SexyFrame...err, The First Descendant, on July 2nd, Zenless Zone Zero (what? I like these open world gachas) on the 4th, Once Human on July 9th...but I want to get into Wayfinder when I can, maybe later this summer. I liked what I played in the beta I got into way back when, and making it offline seems like the right move.
I feel like every game launching right now has bad timing. June and July are so stacked with good games

Since this game is not f2p mmo anymore I actually got my interest in it re-kindled. I will buy this game one day and be able to finally play as the buff waifu. Skins for weapons and armor had become actuall gear now instead of the cash shop stuff which is always better for me.
So I played it since it was first available with the founders packs but I know down the road they will discontinue the servers or whatever for the PS4 players and unfortunately I'm one of them and I know they said they will give a free PS5 upgrade to it but I don't have a PS5 nor can I afford one, so this upsets me very much

What exactly does co-op mean in this context? Is it like MHW where you can have up to 4 people joining a fight or dungeon in this case? Or is it only co-op with friends.
I got the game initially because it was a MMO, I am that type of person that feels hella lonely when I don't see any other players around. And get bored too quick with no one to talk to, or explore with. So for me this change was quite sad. Even so, I do understand the changes made and am happy it's getting a lot better feedback now.
No random people, only friend invites right now. They seem to be working on something akin to matchmaking with randoms, though.
Liked the game then and like it now but i just don’t see the longevity at this point i hope they can come up with something great to benefit both crowds, I supported the game with the exalted pack on steam and even though DE benefited from it i just don’t see how Syndicate is going to keep the game alive long term.
Definitely wasn’t fond of the MMO aspect on PS5 but I dug the gameplay and style. I’ll definitely give it another go when they update the PS5 version.

The major issue for me is that there's just no time for me to play it. Between Elden Ring later this month as well as multiple other games I play a.t.m. I'll be busy untill Novemer, at which point Path of Exile 2's EA comes out. Which is then all other games will disappear for me for like a year straight. (Though I will play 1999 FOR SURE)
So in my eyes they've took too long and lost a huge chunk of already not so big player base, in a hyper compeditive time and space for gaming. Plus, it's hard for me to picture a steady flow if money into it, now that it's not Live Service, which also puts a big "?" on it's longevity. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Gonna have to reinstall it.

Agreed. Never would've expected it from them. They botched the games early access launch with terrible servers and server issues that they admitted were their fault. Abruptly shutdown their publishing wing with absolutely zero warning leaving airship out to dry scrambling. THEN cut and run with all the founder pack money that was purchased for the game they're no longer publishing.... Like extremely scummy practices DE... I hope they stay solo and self publishing because working with others obviously ain't for them. They were once the little guy that got screwed over. Then they go and return it to someone else themselves. At the very least founder pack money should go to Airship.

This games Grendel is way better than the fat boy we got in Warframe.

Skins are now actual weapons and armor sets in game. Theres also a vendor that only founders can access, with mounts, pets etc. @16scott17

Working on getting Playstation Publishing rights, but it will be on PS5 and Xbox this year
imo mmo definitely didnt fit this game, this feels like a much better fit I do hope it gets some post release content like 2-3 more characters and a heroic version of everyone, and maybe a revamp to how the skill trees work (not unique enough at all, they're just stat sticks) but I know we need to support the devs for this to happen.
This sounds much better than the MMO to me, but I still wish they just did another Darksiders instead of this

@@TacticalPotato THQNORDIC currently have the rights to the Darksiders IP, and it's thanks to them that 3 and Gensis got made. While Air Syndicate have only made 1 Darksiders game, some of the people that founded this company were part of Vigil games, the original team behind Darksiders.
They only made Genesis tbh. They don't decide if they can make another Darksiders game, THQ Nordic decides that.
It don't think the switch matters thats much tbh the mmo mechanics weren't that good or game hanging anyway and honestly all it did was hold the game back, and i think this shows that most game would be better if they were just made as co op instead of these suedo mmos

I'd rather pay $25 upfront for a complete game that respects my time than a free to play that artificially adds pain points and has tons of microtransactions.
I never played this game before but due to this update am now buying it on Steam. We have to reward this kind of behavior and corrections in the games industry.
What about the early access that people paid for? Basically, I paid to play a demo for a yr, that isn't even accurate.
Yea we all did. Publisher closed and left them with the choice of cancelling the game or trying to remake it. Refunds are impossible because the publishers has the share of the early access funds.
So no founder's advances and a lost of money
In game items for founders to pick up and unlock stuff but refund is kind of hard if the publisher kept the money.

Kind of the risk of buying a Founders thing. You can't buy a founders thing, and later when you don't like it refund it. That's the gamble you have to make. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't.

It's impossible from what I understand for them to refund money they dont have. The publisher they've said has that money so you would have to ask DE for it.
Yes it is confirmed from the Devs themselves that they do not have ANY money from the Founder's Pack. All of it was taken from DE that created Warframe. Your best bet is to get it from them and, well, best of luck really.

@@nolifeSnorlax That's just steam being nice. Even then it's not a true refund. Just store credit equivalent of purchase price for their platform because they can't give an actual refund either. Steam is also less likely to do this the more people ask because they're eating the cost of a founder pack every time they decide to be nice. DE really pulled a dirty move which disappointed me.
I kinda wanna like this game but it just feels so... generic. Like, the entire intro and the German dub were so stale and unsurprising I just wasn't sure what I was getting into. I did like the fluidity of the gameplay, it shows promise.
I also can't change the language to English. In fact, it already IS set to English but the entire game is still in German. Annoying.
Have to be very careful saying 'mythic hunt'...
