- Milo shows how to use a Sorta-Clear™ 18 silicone mold to make ice shot glasses. These shot glasses are very unique, and are a great way to keep your drinks frosty cold.
The gang mold made in this tutorial can be used to make many ice glasses at once.

SORTA-Clear™ silicones are ideal for making prototype, jewellery or other moulds of any configuration where model visibility is important (i.e. extracting a model from the mould via cutting). Materials such as urethane, epoxy or polyester resins can then be cast into SORTA-Clear™ silicone without application of a release agent. Other materials such as wax and low melt metal alloys can also be cast into SORTA-Clear®. SORTA-Clear™ can be pigmented with SILC Pig™ silicone pigments.
SORTA Clear™ 18 silicone rubber is FOOD SAFE and can be used for culinary applications including casting chocolate and other confections.

How essential is the degassing part? If I don't degas the silicone, what will happen to the mold? Thanks
Degassing removes air from the silicone so you don't get any bubbles
@@flamet I understand that but what effect would the bubbles have if I don't degas...
Bubbles on the surface of the mold will cause defects in your castings.
@@smoothon For my purposes small defects are alright - is that the only downside?
@@johnclare77 Also, having many air bubbles within a mold can reduce its strength and production life.
Is this silicone BPA free?
The artist in me appreciates the application.
The child in me thinks looks like a giant Lego
The science geek in me loves advancements in rubbers.

I tried some of this Sorta-Clear silicone. It didn't cure properly and ruined my sculpture.
You did something wrong.
@@JO-ly3hi Yup. I bought Smooth-On.
@@holzmann8443 You probably used sulfurated clay or didn't follow instructions properly.
