    This is exactly the type of review I like. How it's held up over time with use, small user details etc. The company should sponsor you. Well done. Again, the wagon came out great. Thanks for sharing your experience.

    I love videos like this - you’re a great teacher and giving a realistic review of the tools, techniques, and tricks you use!!
    I wanted to mention that the sealant you’re using IS a polyurethane (not polycrylic), it is just water based and that’s why you wouldn’t expect it to yellow over time and dry quickly. I believe polycrylic and water-based polyurethane are chemically different somehow, but I do not know the specific differences even if they have similar benefits. I think the main point you were trying to get across was the benefits of water- vs oil-based products, and I think that came across clearly!

    • @DeanFurnitureArtist
      @DeanFurnitureArtist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I try to keep it simple and always call water base poly Polyacrylic because if I call it polyurethane people will go buy oil base poly. I can’t tell the difference between the brands that call it Polyacrylic and varathane calling it water-based polyurethane. Home Depot pulled all the Varathane products so I will be finding a new brand soon. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
      Thanks! I’m glad the tip videos are helpful.

    Nothing better than a true review of a product by someone who has paid for it out of their own pocket and uses the product in their day to day business.
    Yep freebies are great, but I feel a lot of channel owners will over hype a product if it is sponsored.
    That aside, this is a really great tutorial on how to use am electric sprayer.
    Final point....... that is one awesome bar/cocktail carriage👍👍👍👍

      I use Rust Oleum professional grade red primer on 90% of my pieces. It’s $6 a can and normally 1 coat is enough maybe two worse case. I did a video trying shellac primer and shellac. It is very expensive, very heavy chemical smell and even after 3 coats still had bleed through. The primer I use is a odd choice but it works amazingly well. Most my videos have a Amazon link for it so you can see the exact one I use.

    Thank you!! I am planning on purchasing a paint sprayer very soon to paint some fencing before I try it on a furniture piece I'm working on. This was helpful in taking the fear out of the cleaning process, which was one of my concerns. QUESTION? HOW DO YOU HANDLE THE TIME BETWEEN COATS? HOW DO YOU KEEP THE PAINT FROM DRYING IN THE NOZEL? HOW LONG CAN YOU WAIT BEFORE HAVING TO DISASSEMBLE AND CLEAN? Hope that makes sense.

    • @DeanFurnitureArtist
      @DeanFurnitureArtist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The sprayer I have here that is linked in the description actually comes with two sprayer’s. The one in the video they call a detail sprayer. The second one I didn’t show is larger and will cover much more space for walls and fences. It also holds more paint. I never really have a issue with the nozzle clogging but I also don’t let it sit long. A lot of the time I will just unscrew the paint container part that holds the paint and stick a zip lock bag over it if I am doing more coats. Then I will clean out the sprayer part. Hope that makes since.

    Do you know there is a Rustoleum base? I think there is a light and dark base and many colors. I go to a store called McClendon’s that has it. Come to think about it maybe Home Depot doesn’t carry the base to mix other colors. I have been using Rustoleum custom chalked paint for years now. Ace Hardware might carry the base as well. Check it out! That’s for the info. I want to use a sprayer. I don’t have a compressor. I bought a Rexbeti brand, which isn’t bad but some chairs and DIY’s new Cottage Colors all in one paint is running into big money. I guess it just takes practice. I have been checking out the exact one you explained. I also bought the Wagner large furniture pop up paint tent. That has helped.

    Thanks for the tips!! questions: what was your airflow for painting? do you ever have problems with orange peel look (my main problem) and do you ever tint your poly on certain colors? I started doing that a while back and really like how it looks.

    • @DeanFurnitureArtist
      @DeanFurnitureArtist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Chalk paint I have the air flow all the way up. With the poly about a 4. Really varies on the type of paint, temps, humidity and so on. I just adjust as I go.
      The only time I got orange peel was when it was really cold in my garage. There is a ideal temperature rating on the back of the can. Poly definitely did not like the cold. If your spraying it nice and wet and not going back over already sprayed spots it should self level and be smooth.
      Hope that makes since.
      I have mixed paint in the clear only a few times. I will on black to keep it from looking cloudy. But I seem to waste poly mixing paint in it tossing out what is left over. So I just use it as it comes.

      @DeanFurnitureArtist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For this gun you want much thicker then chocolate milk. Think more like automotive it would be around a 1:20 mix. That is for chalk paint. Most normal paints need no thinning. Again it’s glorified spitting paint out or a 1/8 inch or bigger hole. Not like a compressor ran HVLP gun spraying out a pin hole.

    I have this and have done cabinet doors but have a ton of paint in the air and going through a lot of paint. Is my dial too high? I had watched another person’s video and they recommended to set it at 8 to get a lot of air through

    • @DeanFurnitureArtist
      @DeanFurnitureArtist  ปีที่แล้ว

      The only time I ever have to turn it up to 8 is if my paint is too thick. I am about 2 on clear and 3 to 6 depending on the type of paint. I just painted cabinets black for a customer. 4 drawers, 4 doors both sides and both sides of the cabinet. I used a little over a half a quart of black doing 3 decent coats. Hope that helps.

    Hi Dean, in yur opinion do you think this could be used outside to paint a storage shed?

    • @DeanFurnitureArtist
      @DeanFurnitureArtist  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The tank/sprayer featured in the video is designed for smaller projects. However, it also came came with a larger tank and sprayer intended for walls, fences, and homes. This larger setup holds more paint and offers a wider spray pattern, which speeds up the job considerably. So, if you have the larger setup, I would definitely recommend it.

    Great video just quick question I am going to buy the 590 and it comes with two different tips When using the chalk paint, do you prefer the detail tip which sprays a fine mist or the regular tip?

    • @DeanFurnitureArtist
      @DeanFurnitureArtist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine didnt come with two tips it came with two different sprayers. I use the small sprayer. The large one I think is more for walls and fences.

    • @Tony-rs1cv
      @Tony-rs1cv ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DeanFurnitureArtist yep that’s exactly what I meant. I called it a tip but it’s actually two different sprayers a detail sprayer, and then the larger one for walls and ceilings. Thanks again for the reply and love your videos.

    • @DeanFurnitureArtist
      @DeanFurnitureArtist  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The sprayer you see in the video is for painting small stuff like furniture. This also came with a big sprayer that is made for walls and fences. I would put plastic down and use that for the ceiling.

      I have the 590. I thought I corrected the title as well. They also sell a QX2 for $79.
      But to answer your question the 2000 and 3000 are the new design that is supposed to have a much better nozzle or spray pattern.

      I use many different kinds depending on the job. Little nail holes I use DAP plastic wood or pastic wood X. On bigger spots I use Bondo for wood. For major damage I use Bondo auto.

      I’m not affiliated with Flexio so the only one I can speak to is the 590 since that is what I have had for years. I’m sure a Flexio dealer would be much greater help.

    Bonjour d’Occitanie (France)
    Merci pour vos explications, sur l’utilisation, le fonctionnement et l’entretien de votre pistolet à peinture. Vous avez dit que vous utilisiez des peintures à la craie, mais que vous n’aviez pas un grand choix de couleurs, avez vous pensé à y ajouter des pigments naturels ou synthétique (suivant les contrainte technique de la peinture. Les pigments naturels sont chers, mais souvent utilisé pour ceux qui utilisent la peinture à la farine ou les tempera (peintures naturelles et anciennes). Je sais qu’en France il existe (cela doit aussi exister aux U.S.A) des colorants à ajouter a une peinture de base (qui est blanche) ou de la lasure (qui est transparente).

      That's a good idea 💡. It's so hard with chalk paint sometimes getting colors added. It will at times take away from the easy sandable finish the chalk paint offers. I really only use chalk paint on certain projects. Normally when I do color I use regular house paint or furniture paint.

    This thing is advertised as dual purpose but it definitely can not be used indoors and or for window wall paint.... Paint just drips out no spray ....

      I use this indoors all the time and have painted many walls with it. I just used it to paint the bathroom in our new home. If you are getting drips something is installed wrong or broken.

    Where is your mask

    • @DeanFurnitureArtist
      @DeanFurnitureArtist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a low air high paint volume gun. It’s pretty much just spitting paint out on to the piece not blowing a bunch of paint into the air. You notice how the back ground doesn’t have a bunch of over spray on everything? People put paper down and paint pieces on their dinning table with this sprayer because it doesn’t have a bunch of over spray like a paint gun would which you would need a mask and to cover all the back ground.
