    Hi there, first of all huge thanks for the videos. I am trying to make my own maps, but I am still a total beginner (my second day of actually working with the editor). Your videos are hepling me a lot.
    I want to ask if you could perhaps explain a bit about the material maps since I have no clue what it does or where to get any for my map.

      I will cover that when I make a height map for a new scene (might be episode 7- I will export material maps as well. You need to use world machine or a similar software that can export material maps. A material map could be erosion so if you import it all erosion on the map is 1 layer and you can easily change it ;)

    I could see how not being able to change color to whiter could be a problem when creating some Gondorian city. You'd just have to select some white material then since there is no way of coloring some otherwise nice brick?

      just find the texture in the folder and remake it, then by default it's white and you don't have to waste time colouring it. There are also limits to what you can colour - sadly

    A Great job and a good video :) you will do for next time aboute create siege with scripts for attacker defenser... battery ram... ?:) create soldier with armour weapons..

      Yeah I'm gonna cover all that eventually, but there is still a lot to do in the map before we get to that, so maybe episode 20 is about that (just a guess)

      @@MacbethofGondor Im loving these vids, I dont plan to do much modding myself (if any at all) but this is all still very interesting to me, i know its a bother but I have a few questions if you wouldnt mind taking a look.
      1. Will the map your making in the tutorial be used in kingdoms of Arda?
      2. will you be using custom animations for characters? (walking, sword slashing, shooting bows) and if so will there be different animations for different races?
      3. How is the mod coming along overall? anything i can do to help despite having no modding experience?
      Keep up the great work, love the mod and the vids man

      @@Joe-uz7vd 1). No, I think I mention that 2-3 times in this video XD
      2). Yes goblins, hobbits will need new animations (still somewhat humanoid skeletons). Other than that we will of course also need whole new animations for wargs, oliphaunts, trolls and possibly giant spiders. For the base character, we don't have any plans about new animations - as far as I recall.
      3). It's going surprisingly fast from what I feared. I've finished 1 map and almost my second one (around 3 hours of work left). The easiest thing to do would be to watch and learn from these videos and then join the scene-team I'm head of. The rest of the guys are very helpful when it comes to scening as well. There will also be plenty to do and if you like creating stuff it's also kinda pleasing to make a map and test it out at the end.

    I did a few maps thanks to your tutorials, however I do have a very annoying bug where depending where the camera is, I can see through the ground while I'm in a battle. I can't seem to fix it, any tips?

      you can watch the first video to see how you raise the water level and create a river.
      The spawns are very far down the line when it comes to make a scene, but I'll cover it eventually.

      @@MacbethofGondor no, i meant have higher river water instead of global water level. I have seen a few entities which are river water planes but i was wondering if there was any other way

    Love the content thank you so much for these videos! Quick question: How do you change the position in which player characters spawn? Any help would be awesome cheers!

      use the prefab called battle_set (for single-player, but not custom battles)
      For custom battles create a path called spawn_path_01 and spawn_path_02
      I suggest you to look in SandboxCore (also save your map here and make sure to have at least 1 level and navmesh before testing) and look for a map named battle_terrain_v
      look at it and learn from it, you can learn all the basics from observing what TaleWorlds did :)

    Thank you for the videos. They’re very helpful. I’m really enjoying creating new worlds. Have you ever tried to make a hobbit style house in the ground? I messed around with it a bit but couldn’t figure anything out that looked right.

    Question for you lord map maker; I'm trying to make my own map for bannerlord starting from a hand-drawn map. I've got the map into heightmap format but can't figure out how to use it properly in world machine. And advice? Great video series. Really helpful for absolute beginner such as myself!

      there are plenty of world machine tutorials, but you need to click on 'generator' in the top and then select 'file input' and place it as a node. then double click on it and then fins your heightmap. There are some setting you can experiment with when you import ;)
      I might cover how to use world machine eventually.

    Hey, first of all nice video!! My question is that by default for each object the colour is white as HTML Code :#ffffff. Do you know how can i put it even more white than the default texture?

    My map keeps getting a blue hue around certain textures when i test. Its normal when i am in the editor. Any suggestions for fix?

    I only have 3 layers on my map. The base and the ground are the same texture but everytime I test the mission the ground is all red

      try and change one of the layers so they are all different

    I cant change my texture without delete my rouds.. And the other textures will not paint only if i move it down to last layer... but then again if i do that it delete my other textures...... Please help!!

    As far as I know "lod" stands for "levels of detail". Oftentimes an Object in a Game will get different Lods for different distances for performance sake. A high detailed one for when the camera is close up and lesser detailed ones when you are far away.

    What about for entities like castle keeps where it seems to only let you retexture one section of the building.

      @@MacbethofGondor actually I figured out it. You go to the scene window and select the large entity and then it will let you select and retexture each sub section of the multi sectional entity.

      @@Sorenishii yeah it works for many entities, but there are still limits to some of the larger ones. It also annoys me that we can't make things more white, which I've been quite a number of times already.

      Well actually I figured out how to change anything and I just use the scene window. I am actually one of the map makers for the mount and warcraft reborn mod. I can show you some of my early pics of how I made the white city of stormwind

      I think some stuff is limited in test mode. Inner gates will open though.

    17:40 is extremely bad advise. If you are making a map and expect others to play it, when it switches to red the building itself gets worst and worse looking the farther you are away from it for performance reasons. This saves peoples machine and is its only function. Every modern game features the LOD system (outside 2D, Dreams, and what Unreal Engine 5 is planning to offer.)

      At the time there was a bug - now I would recommend people to change the lod textures instead.
