i wish you did the project creation tutorial part manually because the BUTR mod template shortcut is not timeless. it's now no longer valid. so there's a need for a tutorial manually creating mods and getting the dependencies in now.
Thank you! Problem occurred following along at 17:06 in your video. My setup looks just like yours up to that point (except I'm pointed to my Steam folder on my G drive). When I click Bannerlord from within Visual Studio 2022 I get a Warning pop up "Unable to initialize Steam API. It still starts to launch. I get 7 lines of skipped loading symbols due to "Just My Code" being enabled (which I assume is as intended). Then I get this line The program '[17124] Bannerlord.exe' has exited with code 3221225477 (0xc0000005) 'Access violation'. followed by CTD. When I then go to exit Visual Studio 2022 I get the pop up asking if I want to save changes to my file follwed by .sln. I hit "Don't Save" at this point.
"Unable to initialize Steam API" usually means that steam is not running. You need to have steam running because Bannerlord has Steam DRM that prevents running the game without steam. If visual studio asks to save .sln, you can choose yes or no, it doesn't really matter. I select yes, because then it won't ask again.
This series is now complete with 20 videos. You can find the playlist in the description or my channel page. I'm taking a break now because I'm busy with IRL stuff, but I'll be back to making videos at some point.
Hey my man, I'm running into an issue trying to run "dotnet new --install Bannerlord.Templates" and I have the SDK installed but I'm getting the following error: The following template packages will be installed: Bannerlord.Templates Error: No NuGet sources are defined or enabled. Bannerlord.Templates could not be installed, no NuGet feeds are configured or they are invalid. Any thoughts?
Hi Sir, i was following your steps in Bannerlord 1.8, with the environment variable properly set up. However i came across the "System.NullReferenceException:“Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” " error and i wonder if there is anything we need to pay attention to given that the bannerlord version is updating and we might tweak some additional configs
Ok the question was dumb: I looked at the other module name and i realized that no other modules are using space between words. So the lesson is don't use any " " space while naming the mod:)
Heck yeah, thanks for making this tutorial series. Showing everything from start to finish, and without the obnoxious "TH-camr" flare? Awesome stuff
This is such a good quality tutorial series!
That's very well explained and thorough, thanks mate ! I followed your instructions and got everything set up.
Thank you very much. Really helped me with getting started
You're welcome!
You made this so simple. Nice job.
This is so amazing!

Bannerlord Template cannot be installed because template does not exist ??????????
Hey my man, I'm running into an issue trying to run "dotnet new --install Bannerlord.Templates" and I have the SDK installed but I'm getting the following error:

This is a bit strange error. Only thing that comes to mind is to check that you have a compatible version of the SDK.
@@LesserScholar Same error, I installed both versions of the SDK linked :/
