Sometimes people need time. I feel like society is a little bit too obsessed over achieving, measuring, competing, growing. Relationships are important, and they take time. Personally, right now my goals are not nearly as ambitious as Tina’s. I have found that I consistently underestimate how much I can get done in a day, and it’s been a busy year. Therefore a big 'goal' for 2022, for me, is to play games. Do nothing ‘productive.’ Life is not just about making yourself useful. That said, organizing and visualizing are extremely important, for anyone, and it always strikes me how people I know want to quit smoking, for example, but don't draft any plan, nor set any measurable goal/ rewards. It's so easy to give up like that. You don't have to aim for the sky for such plans to be useful.
YES! Our society has such an obsession with work and merit and almost zero focus on meaning/interests. It's like, "damn you want to play video games because you enjoy it? You're a lazy POS" I agree with your second statement as well and I think there's a balance between setting goals and giving yourself time to do things you know you enjoy without judgement. It's how I've avoided burnout
It's such a bad take. Obviously you want level up not just in games. If you're a smoker, your goal/reward is getting healthy, not getting cancer or maybe saving money spend on it. You just don't quit on a spot and having no strategy to limit progressively the amount of cigarettes you smoke or make it more difficult to reach out for them will lead to relapse at some point. You end up smoking again after a week or 2.
Thank you Tina. Sometimes I find it hard to watch your videos because I end up regrettably comparing myself to you and feeling bad about how seemingly incompetent I am, but half the time I'll force myself to click on your videos anyways and speed-watch them through. At the end, I always feel a bit more inspired and a bit more helped. I've got to say, watching your videos feels similar to confronting my discomforts, such as getting my life together. Thank you for the boost.
I actually cried with emotion when you talked about the trip to Europe you promised your mom when you was five years old. So beautiful! I hope this dream comes true for you. So much love!
Wow the location freedom part really hit me HARD. I also live in the west with my family in China, and pandemic really made me think a ton about how to position my career in a way where i can fly back and forth as much as possible .. thanks for providing a word that describes my ideal state - goes straight onto my vision board!
Psych2go??? Let's gggggoooo! Also I really respect people who are able to plan a vision board/journal. My only goal for 2022 is to make it to the end blooming! 🌻I spent the last 5 years just reacting to everything in life, so to continue to react in a positive manner would be great.
Just being healthier physically and emotionally. 1. 2L of water a day. I hate water 😂. 2. Going for a run 3 days a week. I realised it really kickstarts my day. I would love to do a session to go through how you do it. Never really thought so far 😁.
Yay Psych2Go. Let's CUT 2022's goals! Also I agree that mortality is a powerful motivator to challenge us to take risks. Thanks again for an INSPIRING year! I am glad to have come across your channel last year!!! :)
Thank you so much for your content! I do a yearly pledge every year into the categories you mentioned but there is a difference between writing them down and seeing visuals. Instead of a book, I made mine into a personal powerpoint that I can open up anytime I feel low. 🙃
This is a little off-topic but I know you mentioned once that you would consider making a video on how to learn things efficiently and quickly, whether it was coding or university school work? I'm not sure if you already made a vid about it but I'd love to see one! Thank you again for another great vid and happy holidays!
Cool video, I only use three categories to keep everything simple. Health, wealth, and relationships. After that I make daily action steps for each goal.
you are so amazing and inspirational! i really have problems planning but your values and approach feels so right i´m gonna plan properly for this year and i think at LAST i know how to make it real and not to die in a mess of my abstract goals and doubts.
Can i just say your are absolutely AMAZING!!! The content quality and not sticking to just data science but also all parts of life is so relatable with you. I am glad you make videos and i am sure you will grow soon!!!!!
When I realize that I wil die one day, I will start procrastinating a lot 🙃 Because, it doesn't make sense for me to work hard when everything is going to vanish into the air one day 😜
Such a struggle and hard thought. Although this is true, we have to make the most of the only time we’ve been given. We are beyond lucky to be here and human enough to have goals, hope this helps! Blessings to you ❤️❤️
Hi Tina, I really love your content so much. I have started my career in data science as an intern for now because I am still a bachelor's student. whenever i find things are very difficult and feeling under-qualified your videos motivates me. I feel that we have similar interests and the way you approach your goals similar to mine so I kinda look up to you. you are really awesome. Happy early new year and late merry Christmas love youuuuuuuuuu💗 thanks for this awesome video.
Thanks Tina I found this video very inspirational to understand where I am at in my life and where I want to be. I really like all your videos, I discovered you only recently and I'll definitely follow you regularly from now on 😃
Omg. I relate so much to what you’re saying. The more of your videos that I watch, the more I realize the I have some of the same goals and issues. I’m a bit into astrology and I’ve been wanting to ask.. Are you a Virgo?

Nice video! :)

"Law of attraction" triggers me so much. Semi-sound concept, but the way people describe making it seem all mythical like and the universe will just give you things annoys me to no end.

Feel what?
wow are you also INFJ!
In my view Law of Attraction is BS that people shouldn't be using as terminology.
I dislike popularizing terms from pseudoscience.
People use it in 2 senses of the term.
1) A loose use of the term as a general idea of doing things to put yourself into situations where you might attract good in life.
Like having a positive attitude makes you encounter situations that are better than if you don't.
2) The strict meaning as it was invented, some woo mind over body invented by an occultist, nowadays often using words like quantum to make people think they can change causality by wishing for it strongly.
This obviously is pseudoscience and
An example of how it's bs: If 32 parents of participants in a tennis tournaments all tell their kids about law of attraction and are all worked up about it reality hits them in the face with the fact that there is only 1 tournament winner structurally.
If you want to make gains in life then participating in games where everyone wins, like say all students in my class passed the exam, cause the game is structured to make that at least possible.
But some things you just don't make gains even if you do everything right because they are limited resources scenarios.
