This past week I made two Christmas tree ornaments out of scraps. Added a snowflake button to one pinwheel design and the other was three rows of flying geese. I did a little embroidery and added sequins. It was fun. Just a little sewing in the evening. Problem solving included. Love the scrap vase. Marion in Oregon.
I'm so glad you are enjoying your scraps. I think many get overwhelmed with all the scraps we can produce. They breed when the lights are off! I love these projects that use them up. I bet your ornaments are beautiful! Thanks for watching, Marion!
This is so cute! Your bags of lace and buttons are too familiar. I still have pretty elastic that my mom used for making her underwear. It’s got to be 50-60 years old. It still stretches and is not out of whack. I still have her laces, trims, bias tape, buttons, etc. I made a scrappy quilt trying to use up the stuff. It didn’t even make a dent in my stash but, I absolutely love how it came out. Hope you feel better soon.
Oh Linda, what a treasure to have! I remember my mom's button tin. Don't know what happened to it though. My block of the month series this year is perfect for your mom's treasure so get it ready! Thanks for watching, my friend! God bless!
Yes! I'm doing a block of the month series this year that will be slow stitching, raw edge applique, florals. We'll be either making flowers with fabric or cutting them out of fabric and appliqueing them. Lots of room for embellishment, embroidery, etc...
