A dear friend gave me all of his sewing gear before moving to another country, including a box of bobbins of thread in many colours. He sadly passed a few years ago. Now this is a perfect tribute to him by embarking on a project like this. Thank you for the "nudge"!
That’s a beautiful idea💕 While I was stitching this piece, I imagined about people who originally bought these threads (especially the gold and silver threads!). I wondered what they made with them, though I had no idea who they were. I think the process of stitching by hand gives you the opportunity to imagine or remember something or someone. It’s a really wonderful way to remember the person who gave those threads to you❤️🧵🪡 Thank you for sharing it❤️💕❤️💕
Beautiful ending! Now I know what to do with the 70 yo old cotton sheets I found in my mother's house after she passed, they're still solid and I didn't have the heart to toss them out. Thanks for the inspiration.
Thank you so much! I stitched a half of this project late night when I could finally have my own time, but it was really nice to end a day with slow stitching 😊🧵🪡❤️
You always come up with the greatest ideas and I love that! This would be a good project to take in the car and do, while I wait for my husband getting his chemo threatments......it is so relaxing. Thank you for making my day, once again.😍
Absolutely Brilliant. I love the artistic flow and creativity. Making your slow stitching into something useful and so beautiful is a real bonus! Great Work!
Thanks for posting. This, to me, is what slow stitching should be. I’ve watched many videos with a variety of ideas but yours is the one I like best. And this is the one I will try. Thanks again and many blessings to you.
Your bag and your process are so inspiring! I find slow/hand stitching relaxing too. With arthritis developing, it's getting slower and slower but I still enjoy it. Thank you for sharing your project.
Thank you❤️ It takes time to stitch by hand but I really enjoy the slow process itself too. Those stitches never look perfect, but I love the warmth of them as well🪡🧵😊❤️
That looks like a great bag for future projects! I’ve rescued lots of tatting weight thread from a local thrift store to use for sashiko. It may be older than I am and works up like a dream. I’ve steamed and dried the thread to make sure it wasn’t brittle just because it looks like it’s 50+ years old.
That’s amazing😍 I’ve been also looking for something like that. I didn’t think about treating them like that before using. That’s a great idea! Thank you so much for sharing❤️🧵🪡
1:38 1:48 d id love to know how you steamed the thread. Did you unwind it, steam it, let it dry and then rewound on spool, or did you just steam the spool with thread on it
This is so beautiful ❤️ I can’t believe how such simple shapes, and a few thrifted threads made such a lovely panel. Making into a bag was very clever too! Thanks for sharing your ideas.🤗
Hi, Pauline here, greetings from Australia 🇦🇺😎 I just came across your channel & subscribed 🤗 What a lovely project, turned out so nice xx I will definitely be creating this pattern, I'm thinking a cushion first, then the bag for sure xx I am hoping, over time to master the way you manoeuvre your needle stitch😉😉 I will be binge watching your past videos 🤗🤗 TFS
Thank you so much❤️😊 Here’s the video I talked about the basic idea of a Sashiko running stitch. ⬇️ Investigating a Sashiko-style running stitch! Sashiko stitching for beginners /How to hold a needle th-cam.com/video/10VvGfBeetc/w-d-xo.html I wouldn’t call this slow stitching project ‘Sashiko’ but the way I hold a needle really helps to stitch a running stitch efficiently👍🪡🧵
That's wonderful!! I love it 🤩 I'm just starting a slow-stitch hobby. Non-sewer forever, but this intrigues me. Of course, I can't just do something. I want it to be something really cool and this certainly fits the bill. And WOW the colors of threads in that first bag you opened: spectacular! I've been thrifting for years and all the thread bags are the same tired OLD dreary colors. What a find.
Thank you😊❤️ I assume there are very crafty people living around my area. I keep finding beautiful threads and yarns at thrift stores! How can I resist them😍
Здравствуйте! Попала на Ваш канал, всё очень впечатлило. Интересная работа . Отдых за шитьём! Обрадовало, что МАСТЕР-КЛАСС с субтитрами. Однозначно - подписка! Спасибо 💐.
Gosh this video couldn’t have popped up in my recommended at a better time! I’ve been agonising over starting a new project because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to do. Something I do for fun was becoming stressful without me realising and this reminded me to relax and go with the flow again. Thank you so much! 🌟
So beautiful. Love your design and color choices. I’m new to sashiko and you are an inspiration to me to continue on my journey of sashiko. I love your videos and plan to watch them all and stitch of course.
I used to be a quilter, but I just don't want to do it anymore, I don't know why. Maybe I just made enough!! I have never seen this before. I have a small pattern for a teddy 🧸 bear about 9 inches. I'm going to try this. I am going to make it out of muslin. You just found yourself with a new subscriber.
Thank you. I enjoy slow stitching but I haven’t been recording them always because of the nature of the process😅 There is another video I did a small project though💕 Slow stitching with mini stitch squares - my personal stitch meditation project th-cam.com/video/-ZAyve168iU/w-d-xo.html

Hello, I just found you whilst looking for slow stitch ideas, I am a random kind of stitcher and love to use lots of colours, and fabrics too, I seem to go off randomly every time I attempt sashiko 🤦♀️ your work is beautiful and exciting, so I have subscribed. This may help me try it again 🤞 I am now off to see what other things to fall in love with, that you have made 😊🤗🌈🧶🧵🪡
Thank you so much for finding my channel❤️ Sashiko involves planning and preparation. I really love Sashiko but sometimes I have this urge to just stitch randomly without planning😆 I hope you enjoy other videos too❤️🪡🧵
Thank you for your reply, I am not a planning kinda person, lol that's probably why I find it hard to stay on track, I will watch your saskiko videos and see if I can stick to a plan 😊 I am that random stitcher, although I find it hard to start off, then it becomes easier as the fabric becomes filled with colour 🤗🫠🧶🧵🪡
Thank you so much❤️😊🪡🧵 I haven’t been able to put subtitles on all of the videos but I’m working on it! 👍 There are many viewers from non-English speaking countries. Thank you so much for your support❤️💕❤️💕
What a great idea! I have many drawers of threads that I purchased over the years. This would be a great way of using them up while creating something nice. I don’t think you stitch too slowly as you seem to get a lot done in one pull. This would make a great cushion cover or wall hanging. I bet you get a lot of compliments on your bag. It’s surely a one of a kind!
Thank you so much❤️💕 Many drawers of threads😍 Sounds amazing!! You’re right. My stitching speed is actually not slow😅 Perhaps my slow stitching is about a slow process. Each project often takes weeks or months because I proceed little by little🪡🧵💕

Your local quilting guild may like to have what you can’t use.
I wouldn't give up heirloom anything. Even old sheets! In fact I have some, I'm going to use a pillowcase! Aah thanks for the idea.😍😍😍
Absolutely amazing. Now I want to grab my fabric and threads immediately - but I really must start making dinner 😊
