    Oh my! My grandmother in the 50’s and beyond always mixed powdered tide and Clorox in a jar with water to put in the washer. Her clothes, linens etc always smelled so fresh. She was from Sweden and was a laundress.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! I bought the whole deal… spin mop bucket, Tide, cleaning army handbook, etc. back during the pandemic. My husband was so impressed that now HE cleans all the floors and bathrooms! All I do is dust! 🙌👏❤️ He told our daughter about your recipes and now she uses them and has even stripped her towels and bedding! You folks have changed my life!

    Omg the bloopers, love that you guys left those retakes in. Hilarious 😂 Also thanks for the tip of using a bucket. I just hand wrung stuff then ran them to the washer. I wasn't thinking🤦‍♀️

    So I think an important thing to include would be the acidity percentage of the vinegar being used in the shower glass cleaner recipe. I know in America cleaning vinegar is 6% acidity but in Germany white vinegar is sold in grocery stores at 25% acidity. Didn’t realize this difference until I sprayed the shower glass cleaner on my shower and almost died from the fumes 😵

    I bought a plunger from the $store and I use that when I do soaking/hand washing. Works great! I love your “spin” idea, lol. I’ve also made washing soda from baking soda by “baking” it. More cost effective.

    I am glad I watched this video. Obviously I would read directions or look up stuff to make sure before I EVER mixed other chemicals. So I will keep this in mind! Thanks for the tip.
    I am a homemaker and I still have not mastered getting stains out of clothes or anything and I still have a lot to learn. I like tips and tricks and I have a few up my sleeves that work fine, but my cup is not full yet and I am open to more professional tips!

    I would do this laundry stripping in my washing machine and once it begins to wash, just stop the washer for a hour, let it start again and stop it. That way when you are finished you can let it go to the spin cycle and not have to wring out stuff.

      If there's any vinegar involved (haven't gotten to that point yet) it can ruin the rubber seals and elements in the washing machine. I think that's why they say bath tub.

    • @inlonging
      @inlonging ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@scamtastichere’s no vinegar but one main reason they show tub soaks is because many people don’t have top loaders and thus cannot soak in their machines.

    If you are just using tide and water without bleach for counters could you leave it in a spray bottle for quick daily cleaning of quartz counters or do I need to mix the formula daily? Or do you have a daily cleaner you use to put your kitchen “to bed” at night?

    • @gocleanco

      Bleach can only be used with Tide safely. We only add bleach to our hot water and tide recipe when we want to disinfect...and if it's in a safe area. As an example: We do not use hot water, bleach and tide around couches, carpets etc. where we could bleach the material.

      Do not use bleach on any hardwood. It will eventually strip the polyurethane coating in spots. It also makes your floors more prone to fading if sun hits areas regularly.
      You might be ok if you thoroughly rinse, but that's hard to do as you don't want the floors wet.
      Damp mopping with plain hot water really is best for hardwood. If you really need a surfactant, put a smidge of Dr Bronners sal suds in it. Even a tsp of murphys or pine sol is much better than tide and bleach.
      Don't use Bona or any of those expensive "hardwood" cleaners they just build up and get filmy.

    Doesn’t bleach become ineffective in hot water?

    • @gocleanco
      @gocleanco  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No, the temperature of water does not effect it's disinfecting qualities. It does degrade in the presence of light though so the solution is only good for about 24 hours. Which is why we say don't mix a large batch and store it.

    That laundry stripping recipe has been around ages though, cloth diaperers know this. There’s a final step in the rinse cycle you didn’t do 🫢 Also if you’re washing laundry and actually washing it, it shouldn’t need to be stripped all the time.

      @@brownfamily8786 most of the time people just throw laundry in the machine and push buttons and call it clean. There’s a science behind actually getting it clean (the soap, the water hardness, the temps, when to bleach, etc)
