An FYI, none of this is disinfecting. These words get thrown around all over the place with no idea what they mean it's just blatant misinformation.
That said it's really not necessary in the slightest to actually disinfect our whole kitchens, it's again just coming from not understanding how these things work. We should just call it what it is though and not waste our time and energy on bs from people who aren't at all qualified or educated.
    *Of course not meaning Mai

Thank you!!! People think just pouring bleach over stuff is disinfecting and it's going to be the best way of cleaning everything like... It's not!!! Why can't people just stick with soap and water and the good ol' alcohol??? It does the job just fine???

For the disposal I keep a toilet brush only for the disposal. I spray the brush with power wash , stick it in the disposal and scrub the crap out of it. As you SLOWLY pull the brush out of the disposal I twist it to clean the underside of the rubber flange. If you just yank the brush out fast it will flip crud all over your kitchen (and you). It’s amazing and absolutely disgusting how much crud accumulates on the underside of the flange.

Re: using sink for a bucket, I encourage you to wring out the dirty rag in the other side or into a bowl/bucket. That way you don't introduce dirty rag to cleaning/deoderizing solution. Even just wringing the rag without rinsing will help. Otherwise, you're just rubbing dirty water all over. I learned this from a professional cleaner.

For the hood range grease trap, she gave a suggestion of leaving it in the sink with hot water and Mr. Clean. I did it and mines was just as bad as yours and it ended up looking new and silver. I think I let it sit all day or up until I needed to cook. (I had started cleaning in the AM)

a tip for reusing old towels and washcloths, they make really good "un-paper towels". If you don't have a sewing machine to zigzag stitch(or serger) to finish the cut ends, a washcloth is a good option. If you do have a sewing machine(or serger), you can cut up old towels to whatever size you want(customized size!) and stitch(with a COTTON thread) over the edges to prevent them from fraying. They get washed with towels. They are a very absorbent and eco-friendly option as you're getting even more use out of the raw product and consuming less paper towels. I actually like using them better for cleaning and around the kitchen messes.

Hood filter = “grease trap”. That’s what it’s called. Also you should probably use a clean solution in the sink for every section…this way you’re not spreading old water and germs on the new section that you’re cleaning.

Be careful with the broken nob in the stove I had one of my nobs broken and we almost died....the gas was accidentally left on, I thought I turn it off but like it was broken I couldn't tell. I was in my house at that time with my small son we didn't notice the smell because we were asleep....but something woke me up to me it didnt smell like gas but it did smell differently . .I decided to get up and check but I couldn't pin point where the smell was coming from because it didn't smell like gas. But decided to go to my stove and hear if gas was coming out and I did hear air was coming out. I went to my neighbor to tell them to smell and they said my house smell strong of gas I called the fire department they arrived and said I was lucky the house did not explode because my house was filled with gas from my stove....the lord was watching over me....I ask the fire department how come to me it didnt smell like gas he said the reason was that I was so long in the house that my nose got use to of the gas smell that I couldn't smell it anymore. I also had a gas detector but fail on me on that day.. .still at this time I'm paranoid. I purchased another stove ever since but still scared of gas....just be careful

I have a sink like yours. I clean my stove grates in the bathroom. Just make sure to lay a towel down so you don't scratch your tub. Another way is to put them in a trash bag with degreaser let them sit in the bag closed for a couple hours then rinse them off with your hose or hot water.

I also use laundry detergent to clean the kitchen cabinets because it removes the grease so effectively. It's especially helpful for cleaning the top of the kitchen upper cabinets... which I do maybe once a year 😂.
However, I have never cleaned my floors with it... I will try that too.
For cleaning your extractor filter, I would recommend the following :
Take a deep baking sheet... big enough to put the filter in (or in the shower or bathtub). Then pour washing powder over the heavily soiled areas, place a towel, or some cleaning rags on top and carefully fill the baking tray with boiling hot water, till the filter is covered, or at least the cloth on it gets wet.
Soak it overnight, or at least for a few hours.
This is how I got a 20 year old and heavily greasy filter clean again... without scrubbing.

I put wax paper on the tops of our cabinets and replace it every spring. This keeps them clean and I never have to scrub them - just lightly wash them because dust gets under the wax paper a bit. This tip is originally from “Be my guest Denise Cooper”.

@@jenniferrumsey9887 Never thought of that... but it's a good idea. Maybe I'll try that too.

You've inspire me to clean my kickplate. :P I think it's odd GCG suggests bleach in super hot water. Bleach is only effective in tepid water. Hot water dissolves its active ingredient. And bleach should always be rinsed off. I use ammonia for deep clean disinfecting, which does not need to be rinsed off, and it doesn't ruin fabric dyes. It's often in glass cleaners. But bleach and ammonia make deadly toxic fumes when mixed. I don't have any bleach cleaners in my house to avoid an accident.

GCG takes its chemical mixing very seriously and constantly warns people what not to mix together. Besides "bleach pray love" her other motto is "water bleach and powdered tide, anything else and you'll need an ambulance ride", or something like that. She also always goes over everything with water two or three times after using bleach to make sure she got everything off.

I have heard that one way to help clean the stove grates is to put them in trash bag with 1/4 cup ammonia and tie it up tight. Leave it overnight - I would put the bag in the garage or outside. Wipe it off the next day and scrub any remaining gunk with baking soda. Also, one way to make stove top cleaning much easier is to wipe it off every night. If there are any spills or grease, I use a little dish detergent, otherwise, just water and a microfiber cloth. It only takes a minute or two and keeps my stove top looking good.

Sometimes you can purchase a new fridge door without replacing the whole fridge.
For my stove grates (which aren't as big as your's) I put them on the top rack inside my cold oven. On the bottom rack I put an empty baking dish and on the middle rack another empty baking dish. (If you only have two oven racks then put one baking dish sideways over the bottom baking dish so it's suspended over the top and not sitting inside it.) Now pour 1 cup of straight ammonia in the top baking dish and then fill the bottom baking dish half way with boiling water. Close up the oven and leave it sit overnight or at least 5 or so hours. When you open the oven it's really easy to wipe down the oven, the racks and the stove grates. Be careful to dispose of the ammonia or put it back in the bottle to be used again another day.

The easiest way to clean your cabinets is to use a O-Cedar cc Easywring Microfiber Spin Mop & Bucket Floor Cleaning System. With the same mixture of Tide & Bleach. This way you can use the mop to reach your cabinets and not have to climb up and down on a stool. Make sure that you have dedicated mop head to do this. For instance have one for your four and one dedicated to clean your cabinets. You can also spin them up about 7:00 to 9 times so that I'm off had is not too wet and does not drip down your cabinets

I had an idea for your fridge scratches and I Googled it, so it seems it is actually done. Back in the day, people would use toothpaste to repair scratches on theor cds. Apparently, people do the same for stainless steel surfaces. For reference, I would look up the wiki how for the CD scratches first and then look up the stainless steel repair. I know the wiki how is quite specific on the proper type of toothpaste that will get the job done.

After I clean out the sink, I fill one with the hottest water, Tide and bleach but I add a little more bleach. Then I add the dish drying rack with utensil holder and allow it to soak a bit. Make sure your hot water is deep enough to cover the dish rack. After soaking I scrub top and bottom ensuring I cover all the surfaces. The utensil cup tends to get really dirty so scrub it as well. I give the rack a final inspection and if satisfied, I drain the water and scrub the sink as well. I use the sprayer to rinse everything with super hot water. Now I’m happy to put my freshly washed dishes in it to dry.

We scrape off all food off our dishes before putting in the dishwasher then every 2 weeks we use a dishwasher cleaning tablet - it’s a finish in wash dishwasher cleaner and it cleans the dishwasher and I am sure all the grime in the pipes .

No large sink? How about a bathtub? Scrub out with cleanser when done.

Magnets scratch the stainless steel on the fridge. You’re *supposed to* put magnets on the sides. But for us, that ship sailed long ago.

I think the left to right process is a huge waste of time. I would do all the cabinets, the counters, then lower areas. Then floors.

Fill the sink with ice and shove as much of it as you can into the disposal. Then turn your water on into the disposal hole while the disposal is running and just keep shoving the ice into the hole and it will be really gross and you can do it multiple times until it is clear/ a little cloudy.

The bathtub works great for cleaning the oven racks. You can use fabric softener sheets in the water.

Hi! I use a pumice stone to clean my stove grates and it works really well. Also, I cleaned my grease filter the exact same way.. dawn power wash and a brush. The only difference was I scrubbed when it was flat and then put it through the dishwasher and it came out looking almost brand new. We never cleaned it and it was really bad. =)

You can soak your grease trap in the sink with hot water and a dishwasher tablet or pac whatever you use. Let it soak for several hours then run it through the dishwasher :)
