Question: how good is phantazma in master duel? I have literally never seen anyone use the card in master duel or mention the card in master duel. it sounds pretty good to me but I don't have any idea if its better than other hand traps.
@@dakotayoung1611 Not really good in Platinum & Diamond as you'll encounter almost the same meta decks in every matchups. But if you're playing casually in Gold & below, it's a nice situational card that can be played at 1. Some decks like Dragonmaid, Dark Magician, Dragon Link, etc. use it but not so often as it's a situational card. They often use it as a combo extender instead of a hand trap.
Fusions are great fun! I started on cyber dragons cos they may boys, added thunder dragons to the mix which is such a fun deck, added eyes restrict which is fun when it pops off but bricks so much, played despia/darklord which I hated(waiting for branded in white) and added heroes which took forever to grind out and was fun but is basically same play every game
Ya that's the nice part about despia, if you establish your board with the field spell you don't REALLY care about skill drain. Like ya you won't get the raw destruction you'd normally get, but with the field spell and a good set up you can still summon 2-4 monsters pretty comfortably under a skill drain. That is of course if you have the starters or set up, if you draw nothing but aluber and random crap the skill drain is just going to stop you dead
I can't wait for Branded to be tier 1. Basically, we will get the superpoly/fallen of albaz battle nonsense we had in the fusion festival if the number of despia decks increased lol.
Now just imagine when we get mirrorblade and branded fusion, aside from pop 2 we're gonna be able to banish one and have a monster that raigekis the field when destroyed.
Aren't the new Despia cards more likely to come out in 4 weeks with the newest selection pack given the Albaz structure deck came out in April and the Marincess/Umi support cards came out in June IRL? Would also fit the pattern of alternating a meta defining pack and a middle tier pack that master duel has been doing.
branded in red is a powerful card. it plays around many things, but it doesn't matter with my mekk knights. as long as it activated on the field, you can't dodge world legacy secret.
I love fusions aside from HERO.... ptsd from duel links.... already use this deck with my friends when we play for fun (no chimera yet tho) so I can't wait for it to be tier 1
Nah I feel like the next constructed deck isn't gonna be despia. They like giving relatively good non meta decks. Honestly with the random crystal beast added to the selection deck I would believe that is a more likely structure deck then Despia, Despia is likely gonna be meta and if it's meta they want us spending tons of money trying to get it not let us slide with 1500 gems to build it.
I don't know about masquerade as first fusion, I personally prefer the floating armor I like the floating plusses when I survive, any other despia branded player's (ps armor to the boiiii is funny for me)
@@dantevic not totally but somewhat agreed 👌 the burn effects is funny and the reborn ability is great for rank 8 plays, but it's still has something missing not sure what exactly it's just not versatile enough for turn one for me I mostly use it as floodgate during the late turns in a grind game
Works in anything that can generate a lot of fusion material, especially if you can fuse during your opponent's turn. I don't think DM can do those well.
It could work on a "pure" DM deck as it's a generic fusion monster and it can be done during your opponent's turn with Secrets of Dark Magic. You need to have Dark Magician (in hand/field), 1 monster on the field and another in your hand during your Turn 1 to summon Chimera on Turn 2... Although I think it's better with Branded + Dark Magician. But then, if you're gonna mix Branded + Despia cards with DM, I think it's better to play Branded without DM since some DM cards will be bricky. It's just like the case with Darklords. Then again, it's up to the player's playstyle preference (and with how competitive you are).
Sure this deck was really good in the tcg and ocg but in terms of what's legal and the different meta we are on rn it really makes this deck look fair I don't see it being tier 1 and I'm somewhat hesitant to even say it'll be tier 2 also this deck doesn't have much flex room to fit in many defensive cards, in a B01 format where u at least want the staples ur just going to get floodgated before u even make ur plays since u didn't have space for a handtrap or 2
This is outright not true lol. Despia can easily run defensive cards, not sure why you'd think otherwise. Despia is literally still topping right now in TCG .
@@BrandedInLove the best version of "pure despia" is still the allure version which plays the frightfur package the branded package like Albion Kitt and branded lost plus the main engine after all that u have around 6 free flex spots assuming ur aiming for a 40 card list and if u play the version that is more reliant on the despia half of the deck but with more defensive cards ur deck loses much more easily to a single ash on branded fusion I have the deck irl and competed with it pretty sure I know what I'm talking about

What does the extra deck look like when Mirrorjade and Lubellion comes out? That's like 3-4 extra fusions that Despia have to make room for. Does Chimera x2 still make the cut or do you cut back on the multiple Masquerade?
You can just keep it to two Maquerade, 1 Chimera and cut out DPE. Mirrorjade more or less can cover DPE’s removal and Despia+Branded have ways to bring it back
You don't use first darklord anymore. Or any of the XYZ cards. that already cuts out 4 cards in the extra, but yeah Chimera absolutely stays at 2. Masq can be 1 or 2 fine Lubellion and mirrorjade are ran at 2x each usually, Albion also comes into the deck btw, at 2 as well normally. Little reason to play Anima (it honestly rarely comes up its just used right now, like the XYZs, because no better option) And while I've seen plenty use it, you don't need to play verte. or even use the DPE package.
The release pattern for this game kills me, I understand they’re trying to keep it 1-2 sets back but we’re not even getting cards that could be released at least in the MP that weren’t in the feature packs so everything from a set is available (still salty I couldn’t get Destruction Venus yet)
I'm actually happy with the current selection pack besides the dinomorphia you only need to build a like what 7-8 urs to get beetroopers chimeras and DD which might seem like alot but 3 decks built with only a couple cards is nothing to scoff at.
@@jetherarroz1118 I’m pretty familiar with marketing, it’s in my field of work lol Konami makes money regardless, they’re not doing anything innovative with this method of release, just hurting the ones that look forward to rouge cards vs the most popular stuff already proven to sale. You simply can’t reason not releasing a whole booster set of cards just because you cant find a way to make the selection pack not a set. They’d be saving themselves brain power just releasing the deeming cards in the Master Pack
I tried this deck today since I have all of the cards, but even though Polymerization was in the GY, Guardian Chimera is still targetable. Droplet negated and dropped Chimera's ATK in half.
Let me rephrase, then: Guardian Chimera isn't immune to F-Droplet, Kaiju, or non-targeting card effects even if Polymerization is at the GY. I'm not frustrated about it or anything like that.
Unfortunately as long as halq and auro stay off the ban list, master duel tier list will have very little to do with the tcg ones, I mean, how does non targeting banish with mirror jade compare to: baronne omni negate+yang zing counter trap omni negate that searches for a tuner aka veiler, ash, ogre or something when that level 9 synchro is destroyed+locked out of dark+locked out of light+zefra counter trap omni negate (although I only saw that once so this one omni negate might not be as consistent as just normal summon sangan)+targeting monster negate+non targeting banish from both field and graveyard And somehow they can always also fit 3 crossout+every hand trap in their deck The current meta is literally so unfair it becomes literally impossible to win if you dont draw lava golem or something
Nah the problem is not that combo but the rng and coin toss if you get first turn then even that halqdon combo can't even scratch despia the same goes for halqdon combo if they go first. Also the "draw the out" you only need to draw a desruption although not 100% all the time but that's it you just need luck.
@@jetherarroz1118 well true but if you do not draw a handtrap, id still say its far easier to play around despia than to play around the Board I described, for the despia endboard youd need a backrow removal and an imperm to just do your combo normally provided they dont have a handtrap, but even them, as I said, most of the people that play these halq decks also play 3 crossout and 2 called by to further play around handtraps, compared to the halq combo endboard where they can literally negate your entire hand, the enboard is 3 omni negates + 2 monster negates, I mean yeah you have 6 cards since you go second, but seriously how it that not a problem, even if you droplet the entire field, theyd still keep the counter trap omni negates and the search for the handtrap, but yeah the bo1 format also plays a big part in this, in master duel I usually play 3 lightning storm as going second tech since it works against most decks but especially deals with backrow which I struggle with, if it was bo3 with a side deck I just had to switch that out with 3 token collector and theyd be done for
I wonder if they are going to add despia/branded secret pack in the game when the next coming packs release. There is no way of obtaining despia currently except from the master packs and crafting
@@fernamart9868 they are 2 different but intertwined archetypes, in fact none of the new branded cards mention despia, but thanks to aluber bridging the gap the two form a very cohesive strategy together. The deck in the tcg is called branded despia after all, neither just branded nor just despia, but both.
depends on how good you re playing against this deck, i ve faced it couple of times in current event, deck sucks hard if you manage to negate somes effects. just a good deck like evil twins
How do we know that the Despia pack will be after the Marincess/Umi pack? IIRC it was the other way around in the TCG. We only have leaks about the future packs, but not the release order, no? Also, I heavily disagree about Marincess not being top tier, that deck wasn't top 4 in the latest YCS for no reason. A deck that can play 15+ handtraps and has a lot of 1-card engines that don't die to a single disruption and also can summon a big tower monster that is unaffected, all in a best of 1 format. How is that not top tier? It won't be tier 1 for sure, but tier 2 definitely.

The Frightfur Patchwork engine with Edge Imp Chain is absolutely insane and I was really surprised at the value this deck can have.

A recomended xyz for this is knight of the dark world. 2 negates 2k direct attack and blow up a card upon it hitting
I absolutely love my Despia deck, but currently it bricks pretty hard sometimes. Especially since a single Ash can easily shut down your entire turn.
Yeah despia gets f pretty hard by ash, infinite or ghost & snow. Also things like artifact Lance or anything that prevents banisihing is pretty tough

Halqdon was still around in the tcg during that time. They didn’t have dengdong but it was still quite potent

I think people are barely scratching the potential of D/D/D, I've been trying a bunch of builds one of them is Despia D/D/D

I wonder if they are going to add despia/branded secret pack in the game when the next coming packs release. There is no way of obtaining despia currently except from the master packs and crafting
They have a structure deck in tcg so we'll probably get that

@@fernamart9868 they are 2 different but intertwined archetypes, in fact none of the new branded cards mention despia, but thanks to aluber bridging the gap the two form a very cohesive strategy together. The deck in the tcg is called branded despia after all, neither just branded nor just despia, but both.

not really that strong even with guardian chimera, still need branded fusion to be more competitive
depends on how good you re playing against this deck, i ve faced it couple of times in current event, deck sucks hard if you manage to negate somes effects. just a good deck like evil twins
that’s a lot of decks tho ofc some negates are gonna make it hard but that’s against any deck not just this

How do we know that the Despia pack will be after the Marincess/Umi pack? IIRC it was the other way around in the TCG. We only have leaks about the future packs, but not the release order, no?
Also, I heavily disagree about Marincess not being top tier, that deck wasn't top 4 in the latest YCS for no reason. A deck that can play 15+ handtraps and has a lot of 1-card engines that don't die to a single disruption and also can summon a big tower monster that is unaffected, all in a best of 1 format. How is that not top tier? It won't be tier 1 for sure, but tier 2 definitely.
