Someone may have already mentioned this somewhere in the nearly 2,000 comments but I don't have time to scan them all lol. But I wanted to point out that I don't think the wife was simply dying of some physical ailment, I think she had Alzheimer's or another form of dementia, because she was prescribed lorazepam (a fairly potent anti-anxiety med) but most revealingly the drug haloperidol, aka haldol, which is a very powerful sedative/anti-psychotic med. It is typically used in patients with dementia once they start to become obsessive or out of touch with reality. Sometimes it's used with ppl with severe mental illness earlier on in life, like with schizophrenia and things of that nature, but my general experience is with dementia patients. The other key element that nails this down as either Alzheimer's, or dementia of some other cause, is the husband's sad comment in regards to his wife, about "watching someone you love change in front of you.." Also he makes it clear a few times he has to look out for her mental well being in particular.

Right! It's like damn I thought I could survive types of scenarios by using common sense or actually be super smart, or have a life skill that helps in nature, all that don't matter lol I'm screwed
She seemed pretty dumb to me. Or maybe it's the script. I really didn't get why sometimes her "good leg" would just stop working. She literally crawled from the beach to the house up the stairs... Like she couldn't hop?
For me, I think it's Emily's final speech as a human. With Randall and Jane, they still retain some of their humanity-Jane with saying "Mitch?" and Randall, while his eyes had turned milky white, was able to perfectly see before fully succumbing to the infection. Emily telling herself "Don't be scared" repeatedly is her way of comforting herself before she allows the tide to get her.
What I don't get is how the hell is this thing spreading? Because if it was what they say it is then it basically couldn't exist in our environment. It would essentially leave whatever hole its been dormant in, be immediately exposed to our environment and die. They could have come up with a long dormant super bacteria or something that was still vaguely reliant on conditions like they are to make it realistic how it spreads.
a lovecraft film for sure. I’m down for medium adapting that feeling of knowing we are just a grain of sand in a massive universe. That ancient beings exists in this universe and other dimensions that existed long before us.
Maybe it's just me but her saying "don't be scared" while being turned and then being washed away is so strongly symbolic of Death and how to respond to it. Fight with all your life, value your life (dont be randall) and keep going if theres a chance but when death inevitably comes for you, don't be scared. Somehow this gives me such comfort, to be as brave and courageous as she is when faced with the existential inevitability of our death.
To be honest, this man needs a television show, I would tune in everytime it airs. Oh yeah, just edited this so all these people can stop flaming me. Fine it's just a joke.
@Leigh Ramsay if your worried about his money being cut, TH-cam already does that as well. And about the content restrictions, youtube already has that as well, with things such as demonetization. Also it could give him more exposure, therefore giving him more money than he already has. And if hes not in it for the money like most youtubers, he could still inform alot more people instead of just using TH-cam. And he doesnt need to do it. It was just a fun idea
13:09 Those look like Portuguese man o' war. All be it a more sold and a lot less colorful. Maybe the movie takes place on or near Myrtle Beach? I know when I went a lot as a kid, my mom and grandmother would constantly tell me to watch where you're walking because they always showed up along the shores.
I only saw one when I was about 11 years old. I thought it looked really pretty. My mom was with me at the time and told me not to get anywhere near it because of its stingers.
I am rather fond of the movie "The Last Winter", with Ron Perlman. It's a trippy horror about gases being released from the melting permafrost, that affect the brain, and distort the perception of reality. Each person has an experience unique to them. Odd, quirky and fun!
This is literally how I watch movies now. I don’t have time and quite frankly I’m a scaredy-cat but love good stories so thank you so much for your movie cliff notes!
This disease is eldritch in origin, and the mist transmitting this plague is so interesting. Reminds me of a Game called "Pheonix Point". Where it is a post apocalyptic world where a deadly mutagenic, eldritch supervirus was released due to the increase in global climate change, causing the polar ice caps to release the long dormant supervirus, which then infects the whole world. The first size is the increased aggressiveness of sealife, mutations. Then, the FOG. This movie reminds me of that game a lot, I could watch this movie and believe that this is the first occurring events of the game.
Just saw an ad for this on my phone and saved it in a Google search because I just KNEW Foundflix would do something and I wanted to see the video. And lo and behold, it has been delivered.
It sort of reminds me of Annihilation, where inside the “shimmer” plants and other forms of life have become fused together. I get that the mechanism is different in each movie, but it does remind me.
Doctor Doom that makes it worst. A beginner entry class tells you about Portal of Entries meaning fingernails, toenails, holes of any kinds. It just feels like a hardcore quarantine pull.
13:30 Looking at the shape of those, they look pretty similar to the Man o' War, a jellyfish-like creature that actually exists. So I think they might have been implying that the Man o' War creatures got infected and beached themselves, rather than the organism taking on that shape itself. But with either interpretation, the result is the same, it's a very bad idea stepping in it.
I enjoyed this movie. I kept thinking in the end " Yall ain't getting away". That was inescapable. The scene when the object went into her foot, I lost it & screamed for 10 mins
It was an ok horror movie. They could’ve done more with that kind of premise, and let the viewer follow the characters they spent so much time building for a bit longer. Regarding the premise: Earth has been both radically warmer and colder before. I wouldn’t worry about this kind of thing happening irl.
The one line that ruined this like really fast was when they say these creatures aren’t carbon based life forms. The odds of the only other possible type of life forming naturally (silicon based) were always considered very slim from the start and recent science puts those slim odds to somewhere close to impossible. Most importantly there is literally no way for silicon based life to have developed on earth, it simply doesn’t have the conditions to support that kind of life.

I have to say, living in Florida about 15 minutes from the beach, this movie terrifies me.
Have you seen 'The Sand'?? Even more disturbing. Lol

SPOILER:
I was actually rooting for her. The one time we get a protagonist in a horror film that's not an idiot.
Makes it that much more depressing.
Same.
@@minamayes1529 have u ever tried hopping up stairs on one foot? shits impossible
Reminds me of Junji Ito’s Manga where the sea creatures starts crawling and attacked people. Gyo is it's name
Gyro is what it’s called
GA-SHUNK!
@@demiyarichburgh9110 yep. Just forgot it's name.
Yeah that was great manga, It could all be something like the spiral too,
That was one of my gateway drugs into the world of Junji Ito.
So happy you did this one! I knew there were little beats I must have missed in the dialogue. So helpful and as always entertaining. Thank you!
I like how the film revolves around the fact that there are still species in the ocean that we have yet to discover
Which is very true too
I want you all to know...
That I very much appreciate this after dinner upload..
Thank you, Mr. Flix.
When you're too much of a weenie to watch horror movies so you just watch the reviews instead👁👄👁

But this movie is not that horror
It's pretty much a thriller movie
Note to self: Don’t eat anything during this movie.
I wonder if the “Don’t be scared” part is the microbes inside her speaking?
For me, I think it's Emily's final speech as a human. With Randall and Jane, they still retain some of their humanity-Jane with saying "Mitch?" and Randall, while his eyes had turned milky white, was able to perfectly see before fully succumbing to the infection.
Emily telling herself "Don't be scared" repeatedly is her way of comforting herself before she allows the tide to get her.
i was eating both watching this video and watching the movie
"Deadly dumplings of doom" 😂😂
What a video.. 21 minutes of summarizing the movie and actual 30 seconds of explaining the movie. Welcome to youtube.
I think those “dumpling looking creatures are Man’o Wars’s
yeah they do look like massive ones
i was about to say.....
Most likely mutated ones too, they don't usually have that kind of color and size in the wild
Let's be honest, I wouldn't call a mutative, Airbourne, water-born rapidly replicating non-carbon von-Neumann of a microbe a "small" change lol
I wish I could give you more likes.
This sorta reminds me of Gyo by Junji Ito..... without the mechanical fish legs and corpse blimps
Weird stuff
You’re right, this movie would have done better with a couple corpse blimps. 💀🎈
Great comparison 👍
this movie also has a pretty downer ending just like Gyo
But the corpse blimps were the best part!
I’m digging the haircut. Great content as always.
whenever i watch this channel, i feel like i am sitting around a campfire with friends, in fact, im sitting on my bed alone with lights off lol
I think the lesson is the friends we made along the way, _quite literally_
Side note: loved the haircut, dude! Looking sharp!
They are definitely wearing their "Junji Ito- Gyo" inspiration on their sleeve
Not a bad- just a fun thing to notice...good choice
I kinda thought so too

The ending of The Mist sounds fitting in this situation because damn.
6:32, I like the how they are sitting next to two old people, and talking about drugs, and instead of chastising them, the old people are all for it.

Oh yeah, just edited this so all these people can stop flaming me. Fine it's just a joke.
Same dude. Great idea!
@@AverageFrowned yea definitely
Horrible idea. Being on television would only limit his content. Not sure why people even suggest this kind of stuff.
No one watches TV. It's a dead platform.
I want him to make a video of just great horror movies in his opinion, i feel like his recommendation would be great and spooky👻

I remember when I was younger I was almost stung by one which could have killed me
I only saw one when I was about 11 years old.
Cheater
This disease is eldritch in origin, and the mist transmitting this plague is so interesting.
Reminds me of a Game called "Pheonix Point". Where it is a post apocalyptic world where a deadly mutagenic, eldritch supervirus was released due to the increase in global climate change, causing the polar ice caps to release the long dormant supervirus, which then infects the whole world. The first size is the increased aggressiveness of sealife, mutations. Then, the FOG.
This movie reminds me of that game a lot, I could watch this movie and believe that this is the first occurring events of the game.
this looks scary as hell and i havent even watched it
Its not. Its long, boring and a complete waste of time

Astrobiologist
Doctor Doom that makes it worst. A beginner entry class tells you about Portal of Entries meaning fingernails, toenails, holes of any kinds. It just feels like a hardcore quarantine pull.
I'm an astrophysics major. Can you please explain why one would do this?
john panning, well i think if you hear about deadly microbes in the air, you would probably think to cover your eyes and mouth.. right?
You need to review The Thaw, if you like eco-horror!
Oh, this is a movie who's concept genuinely terrifies me and makes me feel incredibly icky. I love it.
13:08 Thanks! I will NEVER, EVER be able to look at a dumpling the same again! 🤮🤮

The last time I was this early foundflix accidentally uploaded his Gonjiam video the night before
It was an ok horror movie. They could’ve done more with that kind of premise, and let the viewer follow the characters they spent so much time building for a bit longer.
Regarding the premise: Earth has been both radically warmer and colder before. I wouldn’t worry about this kind of thing happening irl.
Literally just got to the beach house today and I watch this😭😭thanks
Love your hair you look way better cleaned up and crazy to see your progression from 2 years ago to now!! Love it
The one line that ruined this like really fast was when they say these creatures aren’t carbon based life forms.
