I love your channel. I grew up Jewish in a Catholic area and my parents didn't go to temple because it was so expensive. We lightly celebrated Jewish holidays as well as Christmas. I always felt out of place and never drew attention to the fact that I was Jewish. Then I married someone who was a strong Catholic and we celebrated Christian holidays. When my kids were little, I wanted them to be proud of being part Jewish, so I used to go to their school, bring donuts, dreidls, and books and teach the class a mini-lesson on Chanukah. I admire your channel, not only for the content and your sweet personality but also that it educates people. Ignorance makes for making fun or being hurtful to someone who celebrates differently. I so wish I had stronger faith now that I am older and need it. Thanks for educating- me as well. and Happy Chanukah to you and your adorable family!
It’s a shame that money separated your parents from their faith; that breaks my heart. It sounds like you were a great job with your kids so I hope you can be confident in that and it’s never too late to build your faith 💕

I’m not Jewish, but because of you I always notice Hanukkah stuff, and other Jewish things. Anyway, Marshall’s has Hanukkah stuff, including a beautiful reusable bag. I love their reusable bags as they are only .99 and a good size for groceries. We buy extra at Christmas time to send the kids gifts home with them. Your home is beautiful!

I buy their bags all year and use them as gift bags at Christmas & for birthdays. Huge savings, they are sturdy, hold lots and then my kids who are in their 40’s use them the rest of the year.
I'm 70 yr.old , when I was young , I hated most Hanukkah decorations . So much, was cheaply made and looked junky but was expensive .
Things are better now.
@@shirlynb148 yes! I use them as gift bags as well! I love buying bags for gifts that are reusable more than just for gifts, if that makes sense. Even little kid gifts I like to buy a reusable bag with characters and such so they can use for toys, the library, or anything like that.

I think starting in 2000 hanukkah decorations started to be made to look very beautiful and now you can find the most loveliest of them at a reasonable price 💙🩵happy hanukkah to you and your family 😊

Hello Jewish friends. This is the first time I've seen this channel. I just want to wish Marion and all of the ladies commenting, wishing your families a Happy Hanukkah. I am not Jewish, but love the history and its nice to see how you celebrate in your homes. Our home is beautifully decorated for Christmas and I pray for Israel and the sad situation daily because I love God's chosen people and hope to visit the land he gave to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and his descendants someday. I embraced Hanukkah decorating this year, it has helped with my heartache. I am so glad you spoke about this at the end of your vlog. Tonight is the first night of Hanukkah and my son and I are looking forward to the candle lighting. This year we added yet another menorah to our collection. We will be lighting that menorah for those who cannot this year❤🕎✡️

I remember when my daughter was young and I bought some bakeable clay. We made a menorah for Hanukkah. I did not come out really good but my daughter and i had fun and after it baked she painted it.
I'm not Jewish, but I'm so excited to be learning more and more about other holidays and traditions ❤.
I did just read an article about a recall on the chocolate coins by Manischewitz. Some were labeled incorrectly. Like dark chocolate and milk chocolate packaging for the coins and the baggies were switched. So, the dairy allergen warnings are not listed on the right packages. Please, be careful, if this affects you!!

Gorgeous decor and the bannister lights look beautiful, definitely not too christmasy. The Christmas season was originally yuletide, a winter solstice festival celebrating the return of light.

Walking around in Israel trying to get ready for chanukah but everything is just so sad. Shopping malls r almost empty . No one in the mood to celebrate. No parties r planned because no one knows who from the family could come . Every family has soldiers either sons brothers fathers cousins. Not even talking about families that lost family members or families that r waiting for their family members that r stil in the hands of terrorists. personally I finally went to the mall to buy gifts for my kids and just walking into a store was hard. Ended up crying because couldn't even get into the mood to think what to buy and just left... tried again a few days later and came back with a few things. Literally can't find chanukah gelt shops barly even putting things out. What I did do special this year is buy blue and white chanukah candles ( usually love using colorful ones and every day the kids choose which candles they want) we here in Israel r truly trying to spread the light but the pain is all around us all the time. Even the happiness of hostages coming back , comes with horror stories...hoping and praying for better days and for a huge chanukah miracle
So sorry to hear this. The news I see and hear to much. I light an extra candle on Shabbat for Israel

Thank you so much for mentioning “Hanukkah Bear.” We have a bunch of Hanukkah books but hadn’t yet been introduced to this one. I was at the library today and saw it in our book sale section for $1. Such beautiful decorations! Just wanted to mention to be super careful when shopping for gilt! I come from a very religious and military family, so I wanted to add some patriotic stuff one Chanukah (a few years ago) and purchased gilt of United States currency as well as ones with Chanukiot. Well, the US Currency has G-d embossed on it in the metal (same as coins). Well, I would not throw away "G-d" embossed on something - including in English. So I didn't know what to do. I put it away and forgot about it. I was sooooo excited to find it this year and started eating it. I was so upset with myself when I remembered and realized all the crumbled up wrappers!!! I'm feeling super hopeful and excited as I am beginning grad school this week - G-d willing - but I will be sticking to ones with traditional Chanukah-themed prints from now on!

I would just like to carefully say ( hopefully without hurting anyone’s feeling) that sadly as adorable as that little gingerbread house is,it is still idealistic .we should not be copping Christmas .This is Hanukkah,represents the Maccabee’s destroying idolatry.Were now going right back to it.Knick knack definition is “ dirty little trick”
In the Netherlands is it difficult to buy Jewish decoration or very expensive. So i make them my self.or buy them online mostly on Amazone or allie. We also celebrate christmas.
