LOOOVE this version. Luca has a great handle on gore that ramps up to the Gran Guignol at the finale. The dance sequences set to Thom Yorke’s score, used to cast spells, are incredibly choreographed and edited. It’s really filmed and designed in an incredible 70s aesthetic. I think it gets bogged down by the historical context a little, but I personally like and rewatch this version more than the original. I’m even really moved by the final bedside encounter (through the prosthetics and all).
