  • Woah, this isn't Mega Man.
I figured I'd record my C.H.I.M.P.S. clears on any map I manage to do them on as I'm currently playing this game a lot on the side.
C.H.I.M.P.S. is the hardest difficulty in BTD6. The abbreviation stands for "No Continues, Hearts Lost, Income, Monkey Knowledge, Powers, or Selling."
    That is:
    - You may not freely retry rounds at the cost of Monkey Money*
    - You may not leak a single bloon
    - It is impossible to gain any extra income. Farms don't exist, active abilities that generate money cannot be used. Villages cannot be upgraded to xx3/xx4/xx5.
    - Monkey Knowledge (an extra skill point tree that enhances Towers) is completely disabled
    - Powers, items you can use to wipe the screen or help in other ways, or place pre-upgraded Monkeys for free, are unusable
    - No Towers can be sold. Once something is placed, it'll be there forever.
*In C.H.I.M.P.S. specifically, it is possible to freely retry rounds at no cost. However, doing so will give you a red medal on the map select screen and a golden border for the stage. If the mode is cleared without needing to retry, you instead gain a black medal and a black border, the highest form of clearing a map.
Monkey Meadow, being the first map of the game, is very easy. It's pretty much anything goes here. I almost leaked a camo bloon due to placing Etienne late, but otherwise there was little trouble. Triple dart start is nice to for keeping the early rounds at bay as you get better defenses up, specifically usually going into a 0-0-3 Engineer, a top path Ninja or a top path Boomerang.
Once I have decent defenses up that'll carry me from around 60 to at worst 85-ish, I like to save up for a Tier 5 tower, specifically usually a 1-5-0 Druid. Combined with a 2-3-0 Village he annihilates pretty much everything until Round 100 by himself. If there's water available, a 5-2-0 Boat is also very good.
I wasn't really sure what to place at the end, so I went for a 2-4-0 Mortar for BAD damage. In hindsight a 5-0-2 Sniper is probably way better but I was unsure if I could get the money in time. I probably could have. Still, I was not even close to losing.
