I’ve always had it with fresh broccoli cut up as a layer as well. Though I’ve never had it with honey in the dressing, that sounds good. I’ll have to try it that way next time.
YUMMY Yum!!! Lots of my favorite goodies in there .To bad I Can't reach an get big bite.Great video Rachel. Such a Blessing to see you doing wat you enjoy
Canola oil is a highly inflammatory and processed ingredient. It's made from the rapeseed (no canola to be found) and to extract the oils they use a chemical called hexane. There are no federal guidelines about how much can be left in the final product either. Ew. When vegetable oil and it's derivatives hit the market in the 40's heart disease started to climb. We're a saturated fat family who has seen our health improve so much with them. My husband dropped his cholesterol 32 points on butter, beef, lard and whole foods. :) I didn't always know this but once I did, I changed.
@@FeastandFarmCooks That is terrifying!! I can't remember the last time I used canola oil, but I'm sure it's in some of the prepared foods (like mayo) I buy and use! I'll start looking out for it! Thank you so much for such a thorough response!

I just don't use sugar so honey is my swap. You could use either one.
So glad you’re back! I missed you!
I've missed you all too!
I've seen these at pot lucks, even in Nebraska! Thanks for the walk-through of exactly how to make this.
My mom used canned red salmon instead of the bacon
Sounds delicious!

Hi, Thanks for sharing. I love the layered salad but I have to leave the peas out. Not a fan of them! Lol Enjoy your weekend, Dolores🥰
Peas out for me too unless it's a very small amount! 🙂
Looks SO yummy!! Also, what's wrong with canola oil? I want to make this over the weekend!

Question? I don't use or purchase anything with Canola oil either (not meant for human consumption) what's your reason?
Yes basically the same Glenda. It's inflammatory, highly processed and not a food we eat any longer.
And it's not just canola, but also sunflower, safflower, corn, vegetable, rice bran, and grapeseed.
What kind of cheese do you use?
I just use a good sharp cheddar here Barb.
Thats not a true southern salad dressing...mayo b inegar sugar and a dab of milk.
Lots of versions of things are out in the world. None of them are wrong.
