Watching the most technical MMA fighter of all time analyze what's essentially backyard fights is absurd but awesome lol.

The Karate guy had more MMA techniques than the MMA fighter.

They must have meant "Tae Kwon Do" black belt because this guy basically threw no punches.

I think the “MMA fighter” was totally unwilling to strike after the first spinning back kick lol, either way kudos to these boys having the courage to get out there!

It's crazy how much you can learn from this league/fight that was totally unknown as recently as like 20 years ago. Two decently trained fighters, there's a good chance they'll literally tire themselves out before knocking one or the other out. Decent ground game destroys even high level striking if they don't have ground defense. And 9 times out of 10, a controlled safe fight like this will squash a beef, help both parties grow, and frankly be more civil than the alternative.

The black belt has talent. He's relying on the kicks too much and becomes predictable. If he mixed it up with some crisp hands, he could set them up way better and keep the opponent guessing. He also needs a lot of time to get back into stance and re-establish that distance, that's the part of striking that a lot of guys neglect. The MMA guy should work on his submissions more, there were some massive opportunities there.

I was giggling the whole time. 😂So many missed submission attempts and the so-called MMA guy didn’t have much ground game. Couldn’t pass the guard, missed armbar, missed head and arm choke.

Streetbeefs is so raw you kinda have to love them for it. I mean who else forgets to announce the winner at the end of a fight? Freestyle 🥊 🧡

When I did tkd there would be a quite few students who looked pretty decent at throwing flashy kicks in the air or on pads, but when it came to contact sparring and actually being effective, however... that number suddenly went down drastically lol

Theres many different forms of karate, his is painfully obvious that he is only focused on high energy reach kicks. Other forms of karate focus more on punches, tosses, and energy conserving methods of striking and defense. One of the first things I learned is using kicks requires significantly more energy than most other forms of striking, and is not a great way to approach fighting. However, if someone practices anything for thousands of hours, they can still be a deadly weapon, but it's shortcomings are more apparent.
