I actually owned this car in the early nineties ,I was the 2nd owner and it was brought over from jersey where it was sold when new .i bought it from parbold near Wigan,it looked better with the pepper pots IMO with the original red pin stripes ..nice to see it still around though and being looked after
Wow, this is exactly what mine looked liked. I loved it, with one exception, it had terrible torque steer. And the only other issue at the time, was the insurance went through roof, because it was one of the most nicked cars. Lovely to see one so well looked after, I still wish I had mine.
Ive just bought a 1987 l automatic nearly as clean as that with 50,214 miles on the clock from new I'm its 4th owner its not entirely original it has the original xr2 alloys on and ford badged mud flaps on. I'm using it as a every day car.
I loved my black xr2 with fido dido illuminous sticker of him laying down next to the red xr2 badge. I can even remember the number plate reg D91 SPU. It was my second car. 2500 grand if i remember correctly. Wow great days some 25 years ago now i reakon. I got a bank loan of 5 grand i got the loan i got the car i got insured i felt a king. I bought it from a guy called Rob Ellem. We all wanted this Xr2 it was the nuts. Id just got my first car an old c reg ford orion it kept breaking down. So i said Rob please when you sell this car you sell it to me. He was a man of his word and did. One of the best cars ive ever ever had, and ive had Ferraris and Sl55 Amg. The smile the xr2 put on my face as a teenager driveing to Hackney to see my then first serious girlfriend was awesome. Memorys i cherish after such a last difficult 15 years which has made me suicidal. Where ive lost my son my house my own business been burgurled lost everything i ever owned. Now really struggeling and was nearly about to give up a year or two and end it. I didint and im batteling on with no Mum or Dad but ive great friends and my Faith in our Father Jesus Amen xxxxxxx thanks for these videos really cheered me up remembering the good old days x
My dad had 3 of these at different times..dont remember any of them sounding this rough, the xr2 has a lovely exhaust note , not this one mind lol......wrong wheels , no pin striping ... pin striping on bumpers missing ....mercury grey best colour for one of these👌🏼
THE MARK 2 XR2 WAS FASTER UPTO C REGISTRATION AS IT HAD A PRE LEAN BURN ENGINE AND A BETTER CARB AND A CLOSER RATIO GEARBOX THE LATER ONES LIKE F REG WERE SLOW AS SHIT I HAD A C PLATE with the close ratio box and older carb i fitted a kand n air filter a janspeed exhurst i had a full cam and kit replacement a de coked head and full tune up and service new brakes front and rear.... pure white with white trims spoilers and very rare alloy wheels used to get 120mph plus out of it at weekends meing around with mates THEN I GOT A FIAT UNO TURBO AND FORGOT ABOUT THE SILLY GAY FIESTA

They are crap, had one 30 years ago, 1 week is enough. So slow, even my previous car a 1.6 escort mk3 was as quick. Got a golf gti instead, way better.

Hi Rob I know . I had an E reg xr2 in black in 1992 for my 1st car . The car cost £1800 and the insurance for the 1st year was £2000 . Crazy 😜
