Volvo is really going to make sure this is done right in The States. How often are you really looking at the screen?? IF the speed alarn is active you will be ok on speed. There is voice control for functions. Not much need to be looking at screen while driving.

      As you wish lol

Agree, I had a preconception that I needed a HUD or front screen before I drove the car. In practice the speed readout is just fine. I do not have to turn my head as the screen is high enough. Speed warning in the latest software (1.5) seems helpful rather than obtrusive. I would not buy the car if I had teenagers in the rear and yes I would prefer some buttons, but it’s about getting used to the car and to date I am really enjoying the experience . The online car manual is the only thing I would say is truly awful.

Shame you never had the twin motor performance. We’ve had our TM performance EX30 in the ultra trim for 8 months and it’s the best car I’ve owned.

Glad you're enjoying it! What range are you getting with it, and how's the driving without a HUD/cluster feel?

Much prefer having nothing in front of me as it keeps the dash low and gives a better view of the road (I’ve only ever driven EVs so I maybe can estimate what speed I’m going at better in general than those coming from an ICE car with gears however). Range wise, I’m getting around 220 miles motorway range in the summer, 190 in the winter.
Performance wise, it almost never breaks traction, especially when it’s in performance mode as that permanently engages the front motor via a clutch.

      @Martin-dx5zs thanks for sharing!
I've reviewed about 130+ cars, and still the lack of any display in front, I feel (and so does Volvo's systems lol), is dangerous.

Thanks Chris. In this segment I’d be more tempted by a Kia EV3 or Skoda Elroq. Or even a Renault Megane e-tech.

I’ve had my TM since the beginning of December. There are still a few things that really bug me.
1 The phone locking and unlocking has not been rolled out despite Volvo advertising it.
      2. My app shows the state of battery and temperature inside the car but I still can’t get it to remotely unlock or precondition the cabin.
      3. The radio suddenly stops when the car comes to a complete standstill. If I creep forward, it starts playing but as soon as I stop, it stops.
      4. The interior keeps on misting up randomly in cold weather despite different temperature settings.
I am getting about 200 miles in cold weather.

If a car does not have a head up display, then how can it be called the best, even if it has everything a 2024 car can give you?

This car is riddled in major design flaws. I had a deposit on one but having took it for a decent drive, I can safely say I'm delighted I didn't go ahead with it. It's ridiculous at the back, virtually no leg room. The centre screen is a disaster and too cluttered to find stuff you need to access. Really really poor

Each to their own! I purchased a 2025 model and I have zero regret. This is a great car, compact indeed which was always noted and advertised, but I'm driving and not sitting in the back so it doesn't affect me. I find the screen and app works excellent although very different to what we're used to, but that's innovation. This is an excellent everyday car and works just perfectly for my family.

@@liamcrowe2752 you might be in the minority on the software then, because I'm on the official Facebook private page and all i see is complaints about it. I'm also reading the false promises made by Volvo to deliver on the issues. Then you mention it has lots of room for your family, well maybe they are young but mine are no longer small. Then you also mention as advertised - their actual promo video for this car featured 2 fully grown adults in the rear - false advertising and they knew what they were at! I had a VW ID3, it was far more roomier and just as comfortable. It had an instrument cluster and had huge space at the back and a bigger boot too. It's a far better family car than the EX30

The Toyota bZ4X is a strong alternative to the Volvo EX30, excelling in reliability, safety, and efficiency. It’s built for drivers seeking environmentally friendly performance in a compact SUV.

😂 what!? It's widely recognised as one of the worst EVs currently for sale!!

    • @TotallyEV

As what Adam mentioned, the Toyota isn't recommended by many (reviewed the Subaru equivalent and didn't recommend it either). Ironically, I'm currently testing the Lexus RZ 300e... And it's not that much better either (plus expensive).
