Weed is a real chemical biological addiction not purely a psychological thing. But you should try watching some videos about childhood trauma and somatic exercise. These could help you deal with some of the psychological factors until you can find a rehab that you can get into. Fully breaking weed addiction is a major battle.❤ Praying for you.
Watching these videos is steps in the right direction. Keep up this good habit, and in time the steps will add up to a mile. The drops of knowledge start to fill your cup. Bear the discomfort with courage, and revel in the fact that you endured through it. The effort is the reward.
As someone who just quit smoking weed on Feb 1 this year, after 15 years of daily smoking. I would suggest weaning off for atleast a couple weeks and also read "the easy way to quit cannabis" by Allen Carr, it's about mindset changes and it truly helps. I wish you the best on your journey!
I stopped smoking weed last year after 10 years smoking and after trying for so long to stop. Now I don't even think about it. Addition is in the mind. You can do it. Keep trying
If you're struggling to stop, you need to cut down first. Smoke a litte less every day, dont smoke during day time and from when you first wake up, wait until evening and after dinner, and practice moderation, limit how much and how regularly you smoke. You need to get your self to a point you can take it or leave it, even when you still have weed or when you're around it.
Ryan Holiday's insights on self-discipline are always thought-provoking. Entrepreneurs can apply the concept of 'premeditatio malorum' from Stoicism to anticipate challenges and mentally prepare rejections. It's a powerful way to maintain control and resilience in the face of adversity.
I’m reminded of the film “Bridge of Spies”. Tom Hanks plays an attorney and keeps asking his client Abel “aren’t you alarmed? Aren’t you worried?” He always responds “would it help?” Knowing he’s not going to worry about things he can’t control.
one thing i like about you specifically with modern day stoicism, and influencers in general is your books are not an attempt at selling books to the poor to become rich. Your books have sold to me and my boss (millionaire) and we both get very applicable information from them. Your books are enlightenment which we don't see often anymore. Since reading Meditations in 7th grade it was hard to find similar work til now.
You completely lost me when you started speaking poorly of Elon Musk and positively as a contrary, example of Mark Zuckerberg. You talk about how Mark is focused. Let me just give you a week old example of how he just made a response video to the Apple Vision Pro Versus his own headset. That was ridiculous. That brought down massive amounts of ridicule. One thing I can tell you with surety is the Stokes that you’re quoting would not be liberals. Every value you are conveying are conservative. You are speaking to a group, the American military and future members that are upwards of 95% conservative. You should be aware of that.
Your opinion of the person doesn’t mean their actions of virtue aren’t true. You could hate Musk and love Zuckerberg or vice versa but that doesn’t mean the way they enact their virtues isn’t true and right.
@@GigaDinks I'm just sick of the liberal diatribe in areas it doesn't belong. None of the stoics he claims to revear would be behind anything Biden or the liberals are doing. So, best just to avoid the politics, especially with Navy students which will 90% be voting for Donald Trump.
With all these comments about the coughing… it’s very clear that many of you lack focus. The coughing shouldn’t even be existant in your experience of this video. The comments about Musk lacking discipline is also being heavily misunderstood. He may be disciplined in his work and career but undisciplined in his social behavior which can be seen with the things he says in interviews and posts on X. You might be disciplined in waking up at 7am everyday but undisciplined in the way you eat fast food every night for dinner. Discipline spans across all actions and behaviours not just as a stamp across someone’s forehead to say they are just disciplined in general across the board. The many examples Ryan gave with the baseball players and their discipline talked about the discipline they had toward they’re passion, sport and career whereas they maybe have been completely undisciplined in their social life or home life. Look at Babe Ruth and his eating habits… a lot of points are being missed here and a lot of these comments should have been better thought out before being posted.
21 minutes and I have to stop. The coughing is ridiculous. Honestly just step out. A cough like that, you and others can’t pay attention and including the viewers.
Great video, EXCEPT- You pick Zuckerberg and Musk as examples and beat on Musk!? First, they both have Aspergers. Second, Musk gets 3 hours of sleep, per night, and also slept on the Tesla factory floor to get it up and running, and worked tirelessly to to improve his social awkwardness (which Zuck has not). I’m not saying he is perfect, but of all the people to show off as a poster child for the undisciplined, Musk is not the example I would parade- at least not without much more nuance, but even then his accomplishments for mankind are tough to overshadow…Also, I haven’t really picked up on your politics before, but given the people and examples you use, I am going to bet you are left wing- you may want to try and suppress your biases a little more and balance heroes and examples.
Ya Ryan lost me with this one. Criticizing an incredibly successful businessman that is accomplishing more than anyone else on earth as "undisciplined" is crazy. He simply doesn't agree with what Elon finds important, which is personal, not very stoic
@@Retro_Sean again, this seems personal from you. As a whole, musk has helped more people than you could ever imagine, it takes discipline to become the man he has.
