He didn't cage his mechanical artificial horizon before takeoff. Probably not needed but nice to have if you accidentally go IFR and your electronic artificial horizon packs it in. Good reason to follow a checklist.
Love the variety on the channel. Interesting demonstration of putting the nose of the helicopter on the slope for allowing passengers to enter and exit safely.

Hi, Locher Gebhard had a hard accident in 30/12/2020 nearby his house/airfield/company who ended in fire of his AS 350 heli, snowmobile and injured several people onboard. No more videos since that. He survived. Tks for asking.

Ich konnte keinen wirklichen ICAO identifier finden (XLILU ? ) Gibt es irgendwelche Infos oder Dokumente zu procedures usw. die ich fürs fliegen im Simulator gebrauchen könnte? Besondern würde mich interessieren wie die Flugplanung von Locher aus funktioniert... Plant man da alles von und nach Bolzano? Vielen Dank und grüsse aus der Schweiz :) Stephane

Senza l'abitudine di atterrare dove c'è neve ancora polverosa è un attimo perdere il controllo. E mille altre, che si impara a gestire facendo un passo dopo l'altro con la necessaria supervisione. Già il fatto di portare un carico sospeso con passeggeri a bordo è una pessima idea, specialmente per chi è a corto di esperienza. Poi è vero che si tratta di un volo privato e se la gente è felice di rischiare la pelle è un suo diritto. Questo signore è un ottimo pilota di aeroplano e sicuramente non gli manca l'intelligenza. Sicuramente trarrà le giuste conseguenze.

4'00" what an stupid direction to leave a helicopter. A bit of a wind gasp or the guy standing up and head would be chop off. Right? I would have thought that you should head down the hill if you leave a chopper on those conditions, not towards the blades!?
I cringed when I saw the first passenger get out and started moving towards the front left quarter, then sighed when he eventually changed direction down towards the path…
This is how people die. Flying with a pilot with little knowledge of operating a helicopter safely. Would not surprise me in the least to learn that this aircraft is no longer with us if operated in this fashion.

I was going to joke "maybe that's why he hasn't posted" - I always found helicopters to be dangerous machines, especially in the mountains, meaning you have to give them 110% respect... but well, I'm not joking anymore: just googling this aircraft registration immediately leads to an accident report: 30 december 2020, aircraft written off. 7 occupants, 2 injuries 0 fatalities. Helicopter crashed out during landing, main rotor strike and caught fire afterwards. Apparently it happened near Locher, there's also photos of it, burn to a crisp, glad everyone made it out ok!
