I have had this CD since the early 90s, but I picked it up on vinyl a couple of years back and it came with a bonus album of unreleased songs from the film, and there were some gems on it, including one called Ferry Boat #3 I think and it was a great song. So many incredible songs on this soundtrack
I think they had literally just finished recording the Temple of the Dog album when this started, or while they were recording it. Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament was in the art department of Singles. In the film, Matt Dillon plays a singer in a band, which is played by Jeff, Stone, and Eddie as the drummer. Matt goes solo, and Jeff created his demo cassette and made up a bunch of song titles. Chris was writing some transitional music for the film and took it on himself to write a song for each title. This one made the film. Several of the rest made the expanded remaster, coincidentally released the day after Chris died. I believe Chris is the only musician on this track. It is a great movie by Cameron Crowe. Nirvana regretted refusing to appear. Cameron later wrote and directed the immaculate Almost Famous, a mostly autobiography and great rock movie. I can not recommend both more. This entire soundtrack is fire. After this film, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Soul Asylum took turns opening for Neil Young, with all three opening in Seattle. Soundgarden had been asked twice before but refused as they were recording albums. They were again recording, but were afraid he would never ask again. Pearl Jam would later record an album as Neil's backing band (Mirror Ball) and got the great 2 song EP Merkin Ball out of it. "I've Got ID" is incredible with Neil on lead guitar. Eddie is alive and Pearl Jam just released a new album. I've heard two songs. Both were very good.
Thank you!! People rarely react to this, and I don't know why, great acoustic track. I was lucky to go to the Temple Of The Dog show in 2016, and they played this tune.
Chris Cornell is a master of lyric, melody and musicianship. His vocals are beyond mind blowing. He can sing smoothly, throw in rasp and grit. I adore him. "Higher Truth" is a phenominal album. He's one of my favorite musicians ever.
I'm telling you without reservation...you need to hear Soundgarden's "4th of July". This song is incredible, and hey, July 4th is only about a month away so it'll be perfect timing for that. The song is down and dirty and Chris is great on it.
If you haven't already, a great one to check out by the late Chris Cornell is his performance of "Nothing Compares 2U" live from Sirius XM. There is a great video of this.
Incredible vocalist and writer. So sad he's not here. I was fortunate to see soundgarden in the late 90s at lollapoluza. Pretty decent movie soundtrack.
We are all here to help each other. That's how I feel on a good day. For some reason, people STILL have to try heroin and cocaine. The old farts like me saw the danger. At least some of us. LSD, Weed, can open more creativity. At the same time, it does not make you play better. I've seen more problems with alcohol. Most addiction is rooted in self medicating some deep emotional problems. Glad you made it through, many did not in my generation.
THIS SONG "SEASON" IS ON THE SUPERMAN SOUNDTRACK!! RIP CHRIS CORNELL 😢 💔. HAVE YOU REACTED TO ANY PEARL JAM? THEY ALSO HAVE A DOCUMENTARY IT'S PEARL TWENTY, TWENTY YEARS TOGETHER DIRECTED BY CAMERON CROW. TEMPLE OF THE DOG " HUNGER STRIKE" CHRIS CORNELL AND EDDIE VEDDER DUET. I LOVE YOUR REACTION. 😊💓🔥🤘✌️ SORRY ABOUT THE ALL CAPS I CAN'T SEE VERY WELL SO I APOLOGIZE.
Thanks for being real, cheers to 4 years!
Chris could sing me a shopping list and i would be happy
Thank you for sharing your inspirational thoughts, and your life experience. I wish you great blessings to come! 🙏🌿
I love Chris Cornell! Anything he sings I wanna hear
Word.

I love Chris Cornell! Anything he does is fire! Check out his rendition of Michael Jackson's Billie Jean, it's awesome.
One the best movie soundtracks ever
A good voice…a Zepplinesque acoustic…a lot of feeling.
Congratulations on your sobriety. Great reaction.
Thank you for covering this beautiful song, you just get LOST in the song, his voice, butter!
CONGRATULATIONS FOR THE 4 YEAR BEING SOBER!! THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL COMMENTARY! AND THANK YOU BILL FOR THE AWESOME REQUEST. 😊💓🔥🤘✌️

Nope garbage
❤ Chris! U should check out the studio/jam version. They add drums and it really takes it to another level 😊

I know that one actually. It's one of my favorite Soundgarden tracks. Absolutely fantastic song.

Check out “when I’m
Down” at the troubadour
This song is a masterpiece.
I hadn't heard this before ... nice

Is that DADGAD? Cornell was brilliant.
The guitar is tuned to FFCCCF, though I usually play it in FFCCCC.
I was thinking it reminded me of some of Jeff Buckley's great LP from the mid 90's
The guitars remind me of Jimmy Page. Mysterious .

There was a fake mix tape with made up song titles in the movie. Chris wrote a song for every one!
What’s up? How are you doing?
💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕❤️💕
Add the Mother love bone song Chloe dancer from this soundtrack to your channel its a masterpiece.
