    Just installed this trans cooler on my 2012 Raptor. I live in Phoenix, i was seeing around 230 degree temps pulling hills in 110 degree weather. On my drive after install temps are around 208 degrees. Will update after my weeky trip to California. (The high tranny temps from pulling the hills on I-10 is why i bought this cooler). Transmission was also just serviced with new fluid and filter.

    I'm having significant issues fixing the house on this cooler. Inlet at top of cooler too large to easily fit hose on.

    He makes putting the hoses onto the cooler look easy.. I had a hell of a time and couldn’t get it to bottom out lol

    After installing the bottom hose would it make sense to add 0.5 quart of so of Ford transmission fluid to the new Mishimoto cooler before installing the top hose realizing it might take a while to fill it ? Seems like would help insure little to no air in the system when starting up and driving to open the tranny thermostat upstream of the cooler . Anyone tried this ?

      This system doesn't need to be "bled" per se.

      @@mishimotoIn the 6R80, the transmission has a fluid temp controlled cooler thermostat internal to the transmission that doesn’t begin to open flow to the cooler circuit until around 190 with full open at ~200. Topping the cooler off like the OP said may be the best way to ensure the cooler doesn’t suddenly introduce that air to the transmission pan while driving. This has been something I’ve been pondering while waiting for my new Mishi transmission cooler to arrive.

    Did it make a difference temp wise? If so how much?

    2013 XL Regular cab 3.7L doesnt have that. How do I add in the line ? Theres only an open spot and it routes directly from transmission to factory cooler. Right side top and bottom.

      If you truck came without the auxiliary cooler you can reference the chart linked below for the OEM parts needed to merge this into the main cooling system.

    Will this trans cooler work with a high torque converter?

    Would I have to add more fluids and which ones

    • @mishimoto
      @mishimoto  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The system will have to be topped off for the lost oil and to accommodate for the added capacity. You will need 8qts to refill the system.

      The line you tapped into is not stock. How do I get it like that ?

    • @charlesgrieco193
      @charlesgrieco193 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The bottom trans line is not that short stock. It stretches to opposite top side of radiator.
