      This video ever get made? I'm in the market to spend about $1k on a new GPU from my 1080ti for triple 1440p. Not sure if vram is most important or new tech like dlss3. Would love a deep dive on the best gpu's specifically for sim racing needs! Not many other regular pc testing channels present what's best for sim racing/flight sim pc builds. Thanks!

    Running a triple 1440p - 144hz setup and just switched my 6950xt for an RTX 4080. Not an needed upgrade but im just suprised at how much a constant 120 or 144hz refresh rate adds to the immersion. Plus Nvidia surround is way easier to setup than AMD Eyefinity for a 4 monitors setup.

    • @simracingden

      @Tofu Mofu Any idea if a 4080 will fit in a MSI MEG Trident X 10SD-867 MYS gaming pc ? I bought it ready made with a RTX 2070 Super in it but it struggles on triples 1080p for high FPS, especially when racing 20+ cars and on ACC.

Its an Itx based system so I would just get the nr200p and swap the component into it. That case is cheap and really great to work into it. Currently running the 4080FE and a 13700kf

      @@_Czarny_PL It does, but if you can afford a 4090 you wont regret it as it will give you a nice headroom at these resolutions. Only reason I went 4080 was that m'y build is a 10L SFF PC, power and température management were needed.

I think this is a big decision to make whether to choose AMD or Nvidia - regardless if somebody decides to build a triple screen setup or use vr. FSR, DLSS, gigabytes of ram affecting the VR performance, Nvidia Surround, Fixed foveted rendering not being currently available for AMD cards, etc.

      It's a good card but not a big step up from the equivalent 30 series. It should run most sims at above 60fps, but if you can, I would aim for something capable of over 100fps for sim racing. Also, it only has 8 GB of RAM, so it could get overwhelmed by some newer or future titles. I would personally look at a 4070 and above if I were you.

    I'm not one of those people to try to put down others but I'm going to argue a factor on this subject. You do not have to have the best of the best PC, Monitors and equipment to enjoy or experience the best of sim racing. Having these things will not help your lap times or make you better than others. The best race car drivers can win with the shitest of vehicles. The driver makes the race not what your running.

    • @simracingden
      @simracingden  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree and that was not the point I was trying to communicate. I didn't say you need the best of the best just wanted to provide a basic guide on the key components for those new to PC building.

    • @mementos24
      @mementos24 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Really depends of your goal, to be the fastest and enjoy racing you are 100% right. But for some, the joy of sim racing does come from getting the gear that will let you recreate the most faithful representation of racing a car and enjoying the building process. I just cant agree about the part that drivers can win with the shittiest vehicle as it is usually not the case at all. Plus racing irl is a team sports, your vehicle , mecanics and even sponsors are part of the game, not only your driving skills.
