Very cool! That oiler is a unicorn, never seen one before. I like the blue point box, I just brought one home like it myself. Mac screwdrivers, Proto pliers, great stuff this week. It’s slim pickins in my area. Have a good thanksgiving, gobble gobble.

Great haul Brother, love the oiler and can't wait to see you make that plane shine. I looked up the McDonald's ruler seems to be from the early 1980s. Take care. Pass on our regards to the wife.

Great haul! I have the McMetrics ruler, but mine is not as good a condition. I have never seen the pocket oiler before, that is super cool! The toolbox was a steal!

George those are some great tools. I love that big oiler. My favorite tool is that Rigid adjustable. I also like that micro adjusting slip joint plier. Every tool box should have one of those little nut breakers. I have a Craftsman on I found. However for those very big frozen nuts I pull out by brother Jim's and my dad's tool the 12" H.K.Porter blue nut breaker. I don't think there is a nut that can't break! My dad got that from the plant he worked at for my brother who was a welder!

Dude, you got some great stuff this week! Really looking forward to seeing some of these cleanups and restorations. That nutcracker is really cool. Before you take it to work, please video it in action and show us! The oilers were great as well as the smooth jaw proto pliers with the micro adjustments. Great catching up with you yesterday!

Hey brother you had a great haul! I love the runic look of the old PLVMB logo!! I have that pocket oiler from my Grandfather, it is a super cool tool! I hope you have a super (short) week! I have one day of "work" and 2 days of training this week. I will hopefully not be too comatose from the turkey to get to the shop next weekend. Have a safe one brother

    George,
You found some things that I have never seen. The Proto pliers are intriguing. I would think that they might be a good plumbers tool for Sloan flush valves and the like.
The Perfect oiler and Eagle oilers are also new to me. The brass Eagle oilers with the pistol grip button plunger are ubiquitous to the machine shop. They are ideal for manual machine tools. I didn't realize how useful over other types of oilers until I built up my own vintage machinery machine shop. I can't find any now! Too many collectors compete with users.
I own one MAC screw driver in the series as your two finds. It is fine, but the handle feels small compared to today's options. I would be happy to own them, but I standardized on Snap-on. I pass on Proto screw drivers for the same reason. I see Proto sockets, ratchets and wrenches frequently, but screw drivers are uncommon. I have never used Proto screwdrivers. I love Proto pullers. I split a stash of MAC pullers with my son that had to be made by Proto. The parts are completely interchangeable with my Proto tools.
I think that your finds this week are better than many weeks. You and I continue to differ in that I pass on mid tier, low level tool and vintage collectible tool brands, but you found many tools this week that I would treasure.
I own 50+ daily use hammers. I regularly gift top-tier tools to my boys. I scored NOS hammers this year. I wrapped Christmas gifts thus week, gifting about 10 hammers. I own every style, but not every brand in the styles gifted. I don't need the gifts that I wrapped, but I wanted to keep many of them for myself! I gifted Matco, Proto, Estwing, and Bluepoint. It is a rewarding pleasure to pass on tools that I still treasure to my boys. Adding a grandson and a granddaughter's fiance to my gift list this year makes 28. My wife shops for the girls. Her gift list number is currently the same as mine. When this brood is in the house, it is a lot of fun.

I think there was a nationwide campaign to go metric sometime in the late 1970's. The ruler may be from that era.
