This Diode Dynamics LED Switchback Turn Signal is for all 2015, 2016 or 2017 North American-Spec Mustangs. The tri-bar lights on Mustangs are a unique feature that makes them easily recognizable, and the S550 Mustang is no different. However, the amber marker lights still might take away from the look. Luckily, Ford finally added a clear marker light. Thanks to technology in LED lighting, we can replace the factory light with a switchback LED light which will give us the amber turn signal with a white marker light. Today, we're going to show you how to install it on our 2015 EcoBoost Mustang.

These things are sweet made my ingot silver mustang impressive looking from the front! price is high and if they hold up then well worth it for sure, easy install! ordered these last Monday from CJ Pony and was surprised got them in 2 days even with Christmas.

Hey bill quick question my S550 doesn't have fog lights and I can't seem to get to the gray housing. I pull it and it comes right off the light bulb is inside somewhere.
Great video!!! Is it possible I make a video installing the resistors for the S550 mustang ? I saw the F150 install, are the wire colors the same for the mustang ? Please help !

The question I had is will the 2018 fog light assembly fit into prior years. I think they would make a great addition to a Shelby GT 350 as it does not have fog lights upfront. 2018 ford mustang has the fog lights built into the turn signals, it would be great if an aftermarket manufacture could retrofit them to the older cars.

What's the specifications on the smaller bulb, not the switchbacks? They look like the same bulb or similar to the MAP light.
The new LEDs shine brighter than the daytime running lights. Do you have any lights to replace the stock ones?
Does this have any affect on the seqential rear turn signals? Or doesnt it only have a slight change to the turn signal inside the car?
I installed mine and I'm having the hyper flash issue on the outside as well. Would I need to install the resister?
I've seen the installation done by Diode Dynamics, they mentioned the resistor doesn't need any cutting or splicing, do you have any extra information on that?

Mr_ATC Yes they offer a plug in resistor but it really isn't needed

I like these switch backs from Diode Dynamics but you won't get a resister to stop the clip flop interior indicator flash and sound. I have spoken to the guys at Diode Dynamics and they just are not going to make or sell one. It makes me wonder if they EVER designed a resister for the switchbacks in the first place.
Are these only for the Mustang, or can they work with other vehicles?
HELP!! Ordered these and have strobing connection problems. Ordered ANOTHER set and having the same problem. My contacts are good. It clicks in the socket but must shake loose after a mile of driving on nice roads. NEED HELP AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING!!

Since I just purchased these and plan to install in couple days, I was wondering if the exterior turn signal follows the same sequence as the interior. Will it blink single, double, single, double on the outside?? Thanks for the input from whomever currently has them or had previously installed.
They blink at the regular speed of the original lights. It's only the sound that changes in the car and the display flashing.
The bigger light doesn't snap in and give you the solid connection as the smaller one does. We'll see if they stay in. You kind of see him try to get that snap sound on the big one.
Will these bulbs affect the sequential affect on the taillights??? Wondering because of the turn signal marker he mentioned. Thanks!
I just bought the switchbacks and did some research on the hyper flash. I haven't taken delivery of the car yet, so I haven't tried, but this should work without having to add resistors. If you have access to forscan, you can disable it via the computer.
BCM 726-27-01 : x1xx xxxx xxxx = Front outage enabled (hyperflash)
BCM 726-27-01 : x0xx xxxx xxxx = Front outage disabled (no hyperflash)
I have used forscan for my F-150 and it works great. Good for disabling the double honk as well.
Hey Bill just wondering will this switchback only work when i turn the headlight on ? or it automatically on once you start the Car ? i'm asking cos i wanna keep the OEM look from normal running day light bulb Thank you ...
Johny Jmc it stays on as daytime running light. it's the same mode as oem, it's just that Amber is now replaced with white

They came in and like so many others in the forums, refuse to work properly (yes I took a large amount of time aligning pins and redoing them). These are just no good. I wish they would work but sadly they stink
I contacted diode dynamics and let me just say that those folks know customer service! I am back on the switchback bandwagon and love these.
the off sync blink is driving me crazy. where can i purchase the resistor or whatever is needed to turn it back to normal?

+fredex1950 I haven't tried yet but the front lighting is the same as the US cars from what we are told so I see no reason why they won't. Your tailights are very different.

Hey Bill, hope you're doing well... I purchased this kit from Cj's in 2015. I noticed that the small light on the passengers side blinks intermittently. I'm hoping it's just beginning to go out. I noticed that your check engine light is on? Is that from a factory defect or from an aftermarket part? I'm asking because my check engine light is on my 2015 ecoboost and its because of the camshaft. Wanted to see if that were something that's been happening to multiple ecoboosts
Justin Mas We had the key on with the engine off so the light was on. The only issue we had with our EB so far was a bad ABS sensor.
After having my lights on my car on for awhile these lights start flickering on and off. The switchbacks only. Then stuck solid Amber until leaving the car off awhile then back to normal.. Is something wrong with my set or were they over heating?
jacob sellers They absolutely should not be overheating. I would double check the lights are seated properly in the sockets since they are a tight fit.

While this is easy for a standard Mustang, it's more involved on the drivers side of a GT350 as the cooler is in the way. I got the directional out but the side maker is too hard to reach. Tomorrow I'll take the tire off and try again.
Were you able to get it? I'm interested, as I have a GT350 as well.

these work great,getting used to the clicking inside the car is odd
excelerater after almost a year of owning the car the clicking got annoying resistors are easy to install you should give it a try

That's everything they sell at CJ! All China made junk that is resold at a premium price! It cost 50 cents to make one of those bulbs in China if that!
Who else noticed led switch back bulbs on this car fit kinda lose I noticed when I hit a bump they lose connection and the front turn signal don’t work . Hit another bump and they start working fine . You can barely notice maybe half of the people haven’t even noticed .
New003Snipes1 s550s don’t like leds . I installed the same ones i had in a dart worked perfectly fine . Kinda sucks I didn’t work in my car I don’t want to spend more money on lights I went back to stock my car looks boring now 😥

I wish ford had just led's in them in the first place and reduced the size of the lenses. I never liked the way the turn signals dont line up with the lower center grille. Personally i wish they just put the turn signals in the headlight enclosures themselves like the fusion.

I've learned that the quicker blinking is Ford's way of saying the (stock) bulb is burning out. I guess there is no way to actually know when the (new) LED is going out, other than getting out of the car and checking?
