Nice. Thanks for posting these videos and visiting North Georgia. We've got some really nice fish here. Those brightly colored rainbows are usually stream born as the stocker's colors are more muted.
The best of brown trout. The North Georgia offered an excellent trout saving opportunity. This is fine of you to help view all this from our home, in different part of globe.
As a Florida Angler, I loved this series. Your film work is flawless and you guys got on the most beautiful fish I’ve seen to date. Awesome work all around. Can’t wait to fish North GA waters next week!
Dude, keep gunnin for those Georgia browns bro.🙂👍 Really enjoying this series you got goin here. Beautiful scenery, like PICTURESQUE, and the action? Lovin it man, LOVIN IT!😁👍 Keep these comin man, PLZ! Peace ✌😎
My homewaters 😍😍 I treasure this place and call myself blessed for living so close to it. Absolutely love this video and your other Ga videos cause people don’t get to see how beautiful this place is. Plus ya got to hang with a couple good ole local boys I know. Good people. Greta video! Great channel! Definitely one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing bud
I live in Athens, GA and regularly travel up to WNC to fly fish, that’s just the water I know well. I’d love to figure out the north GA stuff but all I’ve had success with is the stocker streams.
What streams/ rivers or even just counties do you fish? I'm living and North FL now (used to fishing spring creeks and rivers in south central MO) and North GA is the closest trout fishing available so I'd like to make a week(end) out of it at some point. I'm just looking for a general area to drive to since the drive is like 5 hours not counting ATL traffic. The GA fish and game website isn't the most conducive to getting good information about public trout fishing access. It basically just gives streams and tells you that most of it is private.
Is there any hint you could give like an area to look for these brown trout spots. I’m in Dahlonega and I have good spots for rainbows and brookies but can’t seem to find the browns.
Thank you for not mentioning the stream names (that I heard). Western NC and North GA is my home area and has pretty much been ruined by stream overcrowding, for the most part.
Same. I’m about to just start strictly going to places that are more difficult and dangerous to get to so other people won’t come and I’m tired of catching stockers too I wanna catch an actual good one.
Love your videos. I've never tried streamer fishing. My bad if you've covered this in previous video but whats your typical streamer setup? floating line or sink tip? weighted flies vs. weightless flies etc
Looked like he was using a floating line with weighted flies. That last fly in the video had barbell eyes for weight. I use a lot of unweighted flies with a sinking leader on the end of my WF floating line, but I've had good luck with weighted flies with a fairly short, heavy leader.
Any hint you could give to where this is at? I live in Dahlonega and I have places to catch rainbows and brookies but I’d love to get on a big brown. Thanks!
Beautiful brown trouts! That place looks beautiful! I don’t think I have ever been to this location, but would definitely love to go one day if you don’t mind sharing the location. Thank you in advance.
I know exactly where you're fishing and I know that they stalk them right above you and right below you there's only three quarters of a mile that you can fish that's public
Do you think you'd be able to catch these trout on smaller rapala's? Thinking of making a trip up there and was wondering if those would work, I don't fly fish but still enjoy spin fishing for trout
Try out smithgall woods (dukes creek conservation) a little bit if you haven’t already. Pretty scenery upstream. Reservations only, barbless hooks, and catch and release only so very well maintained with some decent fish. Many other creeks not too far from it as well.
The Chattahooce River is not this good, I fish north ga streams and no one I know will fish the hooch for trout. The game and fish, DNR, have the rules so tangled it’s not worth trying anyway. Parts are artificial only, other parts are forbidden, no signs, no markings yet a game warden will say it’s your responsibility to guess correctly.
The furthest SOUTH they exist 😂 I didn’t say anything about north…. At least listen to the video before you leave a comment. I literally live in WV lol
Hey Jon, I’m going up to north GA for the weekend and have been trying to find a good spot for brown or wild rainbow trout, any help on a creek, I can message you on Instagram if you want. All help is great.

I love how you catch your biggest fish when you aren't even trying
Lived here all my life. I know these locations. And thanks for not revealing them! We do have amazing fishing.
This area is awesome, truly one of my favorite places I've visited. Thanks for watching!
Is there any hint you could give like an area to look for these brown trout spots. I’m in Dahlonega and I have good spots for rainbows and brookies but can’t seem to find the browns.
I am too looking for that 20'' brownie 👼 Nice vid though.
U should do a Montana series
I will one day!
Hi just wandering if you ever fished in Nova Scotia … very similar waters to that just not as much bows
Nice browns!
Thank you for not mentioning the stream names (that I heard). Western NC and North GA is my home area and has pretty much been ruined by stream overcrowding, for the most part.

Love to vids keep up the good work
I'll do my best!
i caught a 24inch trout a few weeks ago
Great video Jon!! Solid fish!!
What kind of big streamers are you using? Thanks
Some laser legals, circus peanuts, and sex dungeons
Love your videos. I've never tried streamer fishing. My bad if you've covered this in previous video but whats your typical streamer setup? floating line or sink tip? weighted flies vs. weightless flies etc

Dag gum. Fun video.
Have you ever tried the Nantahala area of NC?
I cut my teeth fly fishing that river, live the remote ruggedness this young river valley.
Any hint you could give to where this is at? I live in Dahlonega and I have places to catch rainbows and brookies but I’d love to get on a big brown. Thanks!
Jon come up to lake erie for steels- you need some videos next year
I plan on it!
Who makes that flyrod. The green one at the 2 minute mark
What flys did you use?? Thanks!
What sort of setup with line and flies do you use for smaller streamers for trout? I always feel like I’m going either too big or too small
Usually floating line and usually some sort of fly with a little bit fo weight to it. My streamers range from 3-5 inches
should bring a gold pan with 1 of these times to
Did you guys fish in Pennsylvania
If you get a chance please give us new guys some casting tips
Are you possibly coming out to New York soon ??
Shoot I don't know. I'd like too!

I don’t think they are where you think. Especially not the first part of the video.
Great video and love the work you put into it! What is your river target as Im learning all of this?
What rod are you using to throw those streamers?
Renegade Grey Series 5 wt
awesome video, one of your best. ever want to fish northern ca. Id be happy to have you join us
Thank you!! And one day I'll make it out there
What rods and reels do you guys use?
Right now we've been using a lot of renegade rods and love them so far
@@hardmanfishing thanks! In the market for a new rod
What river is this?
👍
Nice. Large browns make good eating on the grill you know.
Do you think you'd be able to catch these trout on smaller rapala's? Thinking of making a trip up there and was wondering if those would work, I don't fly fish but still enjoy spin fishing for trout
Just throw some rooster tails
Wish I knew what river this was. I live an hour from Ellijay and would love to know some good spots to start trout fishing, I’m a beginner.
You should make a hunting video
I’ve thought about it!
Need to sync up with cj lorde
What all creeks are you fishing in north ga I live in ga but it's hard to find water to catch an releases on around me
Try out smithgall woods (dukes creek conservation) a little bit if you haven’t already. Pretty scenery upstream. Reservations only, barbless hooks, and catch and release only so very well maintained with some decent fish. Many other creeks not too far from it as well.

I asked this 5 month ago

You don't know much about trout if you think they don't exist in wild no further than Georgia, we have wild browns here in va
