Hugh Laurie as a very successful British comic actor before House: mutiple characters in the Rowan Atkinson series "Blackadder" and as Bertie Wooster in the series "Jeeves and Wooster" - hugely funny. Both are on youtube.
@Chaloupe89 Spencer was a 24 year old australian, while Chase was supposed to be a 37 year old american, and they changed it. But it doesn't matter. Laurie is great speaking with British, American, Australian, German, or any other accent :)
At first I was really upset when they got rid of the old team. Now I'm glad they did. Mostly I'm glad they got rid of Cameron. Her school-girl crush on House was beyond pathetic, and she was just an awful character. Glad they kept Chase and Foreman, but I really wish they could've kept Kutner. And of course I would die if they tried to get rid of Wilson or Cuddy. Best two characters on the show, after House of course!
@XXRenegadePandaXX that's what I thought! It sounds amusing, doesn't it? And it seems like you see the borderline between Houser and a real man, actor. He must be working really hard on his accent alone, not mentioning everything esle. I respect him so much

took me a while to get to like this show. I'm in medicine, a consummate smart ass, bad leg walk with a cane, live on opioids, play piano and guitar. it was a bit much. love the middle seasons, kind of lost something when kal penn left the show.
Some people can't be serious. Hugh Laurie doesn't have any English accent because he is... well... English. (that would be a great Houseism btw). Americans speak English with an American accent, Australians with an Australian accent, Scots with a Scottish accent. But English people can't speak English with an English accent. Oh, and get a map or search it on Wikipedia. Britain is not England. England is a part of Great Britain.

I love Hugh's accent. He does such a pro american one that it almost feels weird hearing his real accent in interviews.. xD
