Diana didn't cry for being able to do that. She's been singing in competitions since she was 6 years old, she's used to her own voice by now (she was 18 here).
She was crying because the judges on that show are also other performers on that show, every one of them very well-known in Europe. THEY were impressed by her abilities and she is not used to that sort of praise from people of that caliber. And of course she got a standing ovation from the crowd, too.
Diana is a big ol' softie; she's very empathic so she has a big heart and she wears it on her sleeve.
Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich. Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the vocal Eighth Wonder of the World. Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion. Having watched well over 100 initial reactions to her, only one did NOT say she was "unique".

Still only 20, she sings folk, blues, jazz, rock, pop, flamenco, salsa, ethnic and opera, and does it in multiple languages from Spanish to Arabic.
She has been doing it with this level of command and brilliance since she was 13.
She is a genius.
I always find it funny that people don't realize she only sings the first verse of that song ! Her voice is absolutely hypnotizing😳 crazy good!
Diana was only 18 years old the time of this performance. She is currently 20. Danna has an extremely rare voice type she is a dramatic contralto which is the deepest darkest lowest and most powerful voice type for a female. she also sings with polyphonic overtones which gives her the ability to sound like she’s singing multiple notes at the same time. The funny thing about Diana is that she also can reach and sustain high notes that are troublesome to hold for many Sopranos. In her recent duet with Brandon Stone "The day you..." she reached a high D6. With some more training she might even reach a G6 within the next two to three years.
So with Diana you get a dramatic contralto and a dramatic Soprano in one person.

DEE ANNA is a Russian singer and is just 18 here. This was her opening performance on the Russian TV show ShowMaskGoOn where the nine participants judge each other's performances. All except Diana, who was by far the youngest, were seasoned professional singers, and the man who stood up at the end is a world famous opera singer married to an even more world famous opera singer. Diana ultimately won the competition. The arrangement is by American composer/producer Tommee Profitt who writes a lot of songs for... movie trailers! Not sure how it was selected for this performance, but what a match! She's classed as a true/dramatic contralto. Cher and Shakira have slight tones to their voices that is similar to this but Diana takes it to the next level. As for the competition, imagine having to go on stage after this performance! This version was sung in the minor key, the original was sung in major. The two different notes at the same time is called overtone singing, Avi Kaplan from PTX is able to do overtone singing but not to the degree she can. You should check out Charismatic Voice's analyse of her vocals because it's very informative.

@@JaqueDark She has done "Strong Enough" when she was 15 years old and she sounds as deep a Cher, you can search for it it is not so hard to find, she has several performances of that song.
Cher is a Contralto but not a Dramatic Contralto like Dian.
Diana has a larger range than Cher both upwards and downwards, as for Shakira she is a Mezzo not a Contralto.

"Dee-ana An-ku-DEE-no-vah". Accent on the middle syllable (tough for English speakers) ;). Diana has a backstory worthy of a Hollywood movie. Dramatic soprano who can sing with polyphonic overtones (can sound like more than one person singing at once). She turns 21 this May, I believe. A truly unique voice and artist. Diana's vocal instrument is a force of nature. And the artist that she is that possesses and wields the voice is a born as unique and special as the instrument. Nobody else can sing like her, because as she has said herself, you need to be born her to sing like her. In my personal opinion this is the best voice I have ever heard, and the artist and person she is; the best thing I have seen in the music industry. Others have described and classified her voice type and unique characteristics. She is a once in a lifetime artist and she is just getting started. Yea, its weird to say, but her voice is like a drug, but with no negative affects, except, for me other voices seem pale. I have listened to her thousands of times by now and the effect her voice has doesn't wear off.
Women can sing that low its jyst rare she is a true contralto....😊
Be sure to play this loud on good speakers. Her voice will give your cones a run. But you want her voice to expand in your environment where your whole body is immersed in this sound. Much like the blanket you speak of.
Diana, in addition to the range in 4 octaves, is a very rare polyphonic voice. Look in Google what it is.

The "I don't know what that sound is!" perfectly encapsulates how I think everyone feels the first time they hear her. There's a word for it but I can't remember it. She's singing two notes at once and that's what we're hearing.

Not many people have tried this song in the minor key, out of those people I think Diana is probably the only one that nailed it. The timber in her voice just perfectly fits the dark vibe from the minor key..... and ye, not human. Mythical Siren.

First, I love your t-shirt …the moose 🫎🤍👍🏽. I have been a fan of Diana for five years and believe it or not it’s easier for her to sing the Contralto low notes…she’s worked really hard to maintain her divine high notes after puberty. Now, though her range has expanded and she recently, reached a D6 note 🎧🎶🥹. I’m always happy to see new people hear her Mesmerizing Sound. Diana's birthmother had multiple miscarriages but when Diana came along, she seemed to hate her. She verbally and physically abused her, trying to drown her and belittle her. It all culminated when (at 3yo) a passing relative found her in her home with a broken collarbone and several other injuries. She went for the authorities who removed Diana from her birthmothers care and placed her in an orphanage. For almost 2 years Diana never gave up hope and she knew that she was meant for something better. (This story is in her Wikipedia entry) Finally her new mother (Irina Ponik, who worked as a masseuse there occasionally) Signed her adoption papers and took her home. She vowed to pay Irina back for her kindness. Irina had a real struggle because Diana had obviously been badly affected by the experiences and at 5yo, she had a very bad stammer. It was recommended that she be taken for singing lessons to help this and immediately it was recognised that Diana had perfect pitch and an excellent ear for music and songs. 1 year later, at 6yo, Diana was performing solo on stage!
This young unique phenomenon sang everywhere and anywhere she could, working constantly to earn money for the family who rescued her. For want of a better description it gives Giant Ursula vibes, as in her low notes sound like the effect you'd put on a person's voice to show they've grown huge now. That and the (I think?) minor key make for a chilling combination in the best way.
